Dude, don't rush into the repairs.

Plan things out.

Complete rebuilds are heavy on the pocket.

First off, get all the mounts checked and renewed if needed.

Then get the compression test done at a garage, seriously spending 3k for the kit is useless you are not going to use it every month.

Get the engine, gearbox and radiator flushed at a garage that has flushing equipment.

Add good quality oils.Stick to 20w40 since your engine has done 1 lac kms or more the thinner oil is not recommended due to internal wear.

Same goes for the gearbox if needed use hypoid 140 instead of the normal hp90 oil.See the difference after doing all the above.

Then if needed go with the engine rebuild.

Thanks guys, today I have given the car to garage for the below things
- Flushing & engine oil change
- Gear oil change
- Timing belt change
- Spark plug change
- Head cover gasket change

The mechanic (the same person who installed the booster brakes &new clutch on my vehicle) inspected the engine mounts & said engine mounts are good & need not be changed.

So waiting for evening, to collect the car.

Do they have flushing equipment that will circulate the flushing liquid through out the engine. This machine runs in tandem with the engine and circulates the flushing liquid.

Have you specified what kind of oil you want to be added? What grade?

Get the radiator flushed as well.

Since you are opening the head, why not get the tappets adjusted. After the gasket is installed.

There is a tensioner bearing, that needs to be replaced if its making a grinding noise.Change the waterpump belt if needed.

Also make sure they check the timing when all the work is done.

We used a flushing agent as the mechanic did not the flushing equipment. He has replaced quite a lot of things & adjusted bolts & nuts & screws in plenty of places. Radiator was flushed recently - may be a month back when I took it to get the booster installed.

We used 15W40 Castrol oil this time. As one of my friend lended me 1.5ltrs if fresh oil & bought another two litres can. Not sure about the water pump part. He has set the timing. There was a idling wire which I had cut while removing the AC a week back. He has fixed that too.

Throttle cable has also been changed. The way the throttle pedal feels is so awesome & pick has improved (much more than my expectation).

The DIY guru (Varun) fixed my cabin lamp (for front two doors activation) & also added a new one (Omni type - small & looks good) for the rear. I will buy 2 more switches & finish the rear doors, hatch.

No camera for this weekend, mobile also gone for servicing. Will post pictures in a day or two.

Jarpickle & Varun - Thanks a lot for the online & offline support. New guys like me, tend to give up soon for small problems in cars, but its you guys & your posts that keeps me going on & on.

Thanks again.

AFAIK there is no need to get the engine re-bore done as of now, pickup might have increased, engine might be smoother..

So tell us how do you feel after getting these things done..

The need for shifting to lower gears is reduced. No wild jerking, starts with one crank, idling issues sorted out, steering is a bit more lighter now, Throttle cable change has really changed the way the car feels. Not to mention (smoother engine sound).

The above points are only a small observation of mine, One thing very noticeble is the gear shift is much more predictable now than before, especially slotting into first gear wasnt easy before, now things are better. The Zen bush which I had fit was a misfit & the mechanic changed & corrected it.

This service was worth it. I am much more than just satisfied, I can confidently go out with my car now, previously I was scared of going on highways (was doubting the timing belt to get cut or similar issue).

Pick up has become smoother, not much vibration. Cant believe that Right fluids can make this kind of difference (May be my car had no gear oil previously

Carb cars had lower output :p

Btw, stop taking off like that.

You are damaging the suspension not to mention the clutch as well.

Great video shooting and editing skills.[clap]

Thanks Jarpickle, I never take off like that, infact it was only for the video I did so. Are your referring to the rear suspension?

Once again, Thank you so much.[:D]
