Yes, mine is a 96. I will look for good strong nuts with washers. Today I drove to the airport with 4kids & 2adults (including me). The cars pickup is so low. I did not touch the ac, blower and even the music! still it takes over a kilometer to touch speed of 80kmph! is this normal for an 800?

I am talking of a total people weight of 210kgs. Also my car is low on engine oil, the light on dashboard isnt lit, but the oil lever checking needle shows its nearing the minimum mark. I guess you also have a Carb 800.

Get your engine, gearbox and radiator flushed and use new fluids.Use a flushing liquid from wurth.A lot of good garages have engine flushing equipment, it circulates the flushing liquid throughout the engine it works in tandem with the engine and the engine gets thoroughly cleaned.and then the engine oil is drained and new oil is added.Get your carb serviced, try using a carb cleaner spray before you get it dismantled though. There are two throttle controls, one for the primary and the secondary butterfly respectively, try using those and notice if the engine responds.Sometimes the secondary gets jammed and may need replacing. If thats the case.Shut down the car and spray the carb cleaner and leave the car as it is for a day or so.If it still isnt free you will need to disassemble it or will need a new secondary butterfly plate.Try to find a ucal mikuni replacement. Its better than the pacco one.
Btw have you gotten the engine mounts changed?Do it asap

Have you checked the timing?Adjust the cb points and get the timing set correctly and if you have changed the timing belt recently adjust the tension correctly, also adjust your idle.Shouldn't be more than 900 without the a/c and 1100 with the a/c.Have you check the compression of all three cylinders?

What is CB points ? (I guess its not present in MPFI). His car struggles to run as soon as the A\C is on..He got the carburetor cleaned recently..

Okay I will check them now. I have not changed the engine mounts & infact for the past few days the gear lever is making big heavy rattling noise (thud thud thud) that literally shakes the entire car. this is only in idling/1st gear. Once in motion no issues, will replace all engine & gear lever mounts asap.

The carb was cleaned recently by a good mechanic, my alternator is almost dead, so switched to a type 2 alternator (used one, but works neat) for time being.

I can see myself heading towards some 10 -15K bills

Replacing gearbox (mechanic highly recommends it) - swapping at grey market might cost 5 -6 k (not sure)
replacing all mounts
engine flushing + new fluids
wheel alignment
molded roof installation
Swift alternator
fog lamps
Seat replacement (front two) or atleast cushion to be replaced

[frustration] At the end if there is engine work then I will be burning big holes in my wallet. Expected this situation even before I bought the vehicle, after all it is this kind of times that create the bonding between me & my car.

Got new Steering wheel lock couple of days back, bought it from rediff.com for 400INR here are the pictures

Just enquired with the guy @ J.K.Automobiles, will collect it this evening.
Hope this DIY is easy, because last time when I opened the gear leaver nuts the entire unit simply sat on the exhaust unit.

New Gear Lever bedding & Bush (small DIY) on my Car

The gear lever had been rattling pretty badly & to add to the music there was a louder rattling (big ones) that started to scare me. Bought a new Gear lever bedding & bush (zen bush, I could not get M800 bush near my home). Rest let the pictures speak. I dono much about any of the names of these parts so dont mind.

Finallymy dream of working below the car came true [cry]

Gear lever is now too strong and atleast does not rattle. It is slowly freeing up after a day or two of usage.
