Was the braking distance not maintained dear? As the Police vehicle was involved so did they offer for any damages? Running around/waiting for 3 hours for an FIR is too bad!. Also, now that car has a accident history, the value further goes down while selling. In-case the history is verified at time of selling, I doubt, you'll get a good price on selling it. The damage seems too much but thankfully no injuries were there. Be careful next time and drive safe dear. I hope you both were wearing seat belt.

No,they didn't.The police vehicle driver demanded us to pay the expenses of Sumo.

Update:Had went to VW service centre and had given the important documents to them.Estimation of repair would be about ₹1.5L and we don't have 0% dep insurance.My father had talked to them regarding exchange for another Vento and said they would check the car after the repair and now VW is offering better offers on Vento.We may get our car by this month end.

And taken the pics of our Vento today when I visited VW service center.

Update:Had went to VW service centre and had given the important documents to them.Estimation of repair would be about ₹1.5L and we don't have 0% dep insurance.My father had talked to them regarding exchange for another Vento and said they would check the car after the repair and now VW is offering better offers on Vento.We may get our car by this month end.

after repair you will use it or replace with new vento. Is intercooler damaged?
Is insurance claimed? If it 0% dep. They are not gonna pay for plastic parts and some.
How much you paid for cops vehicle?

because already it have done 80k kms with
accident history. It's gonna affect resale value. Already now vento's have bad resale.
Example: 2011 highline diesel was for 5.35 lakhs with 40k genuine ODO.
Estimate cost is more because. Our figo also
met with accident but really huge one.
my dad given our figo to his friend. So my dad's friend was going to some hill station.
there he hit oncoming car!! With 100kmph!!!
Our car was barely 6 months old at that time! Glad they both was safe airbags and seatbelts saved them. Total front part was ripped off with front windshield and back windshield broken. Car towed to Mody Ford.
Estimate cost was around 2.4 lakhs all major parts were changed including half engine. Thank god car has 0% dep. We paid just 15k bill for all. After we sold that car with 10k kms on odo and
Bought new figo.

The plan is to exchange the car as I'm getting nice discount on new Vento and getting quotes from VW people about ₹6L-7L and exchange bonus will be added into that Vento's selling price.

The exact estimation got from VW is ₹1.65L,which is too expensive.So,after repair will get it evaluated for exchange from VW people and sell it off to them as we get better price from VW.

Yes,I and my mom are safe with no minor or major injuries.Coming to the Vento,they have started the job and it may take at least 1 week to get completed.

Update:Called VW dealer and will be getting delivered by another 5 days approx.The VW people has accepted to take the old Vento for new Vento at ₹6.5L through exchange.But,confused with colours.Till now we didn't buy any white coloured car but considering White this time and other colours like Grey and Blue.As soon as we get the newer one(2015 version) will get the tyres changed to the same Michelins and HU to Blaukpunkt P835.

Advance congratulations. Bro carbon steel grey is awesome. White will be too common on roads and too common on vento too.

@music_Swift as you know i will be getting delivery of vento soon i will share the pics of my white vento. also my observation is that silver colour looks best in vento but the chrome and silver is not easily distinguishable from near distance also. titanium beige is also nice and you will find this colour in every test drive model and on the pictures published by volkswagen but in actual i didnt liked it. and as i had a black vento in past my experience is white and silver sales easily in second hand market than dark and odd colours like black, steel grey, blue etc. so toffee brown and titanium beige are nice but silver and white are safer choice. and i especially liked the effect of black and chrome grills on white vento.

Ashish-Silver is not in our consideration because it's too common and no to Titanium beige as our Vento is sporting the same colour.

I felt ₹6.5L is good value and extra bonus will be added into the old one's price.Presently,same version Ventos are getting sold for the same price in Hyderabad.BTW,we haven't booked the vehicle and will be booking after this month.

Update-Car almost ready with new face.But,there is a delay in getting throttle body and intake manifold parts for the car.They may get it by tomorrow and can take the delivery by Monday.

Now,we have two minds whether to exchange or not.My heart says to exchange this and get new Vento whereas my head says retain this car till 2015 end and buy a second car i.e small car this year.But,dad is saying that will use the car till this year end and exchange with new one.But,I said no because I don't want the car,which met with an accident.I guess I will get good price on this car from VW people.

My dear, please be informed, after a major hit no matter how well its repaired but the car won't ever give you feel of being factory finish now. Rattles and other issues will crop up quite often. Best is to exchange it asap at VW. Avoid selling it to anyone outside because in today's time people do check vehicle history so you won't get a good deal.

Akash Bhai-Thanks for the suggestion.Im trying my best in convincing my father to exchange the old one for new one.
Manish-True.Felt ₹6.5L is a decent price for a 3.5 years old 80K Km run Vento TDI.But,my father is believing the VW guy by saying that older ones are much better.He doesn't believe people,who are closest to us and believes people,who are unknown.Will succeed in convincing my father about new Vento.

Update-Parts which I mentioned above haven't arrived till now due to 3 days holidays.So,we may get the car by Monday or Tuesday.Estimation is about ₹1.1-1.8L as per VW guy.
