Re: Beige Rocket: Pre-worshipped VW Vento Highline TDi; 30000 Kms Up

True. I agree with Jihu. Buying the Rapid will not give you the new car feel you'll get if you buy a different car. Because both the Rapid and the Vento are basically brothers (or sisters) [glasses]
Did you drop the plan of getting the Polo 1.2 TDI? The Swift is a good car but build quality is not upto the mark. The Grand i10 is also a good car with loads of features and if you plan to use it as a city car, it is the perfect car for the job.
If you have the budget for a Honda City diesel (I expect the top end City to cost Rs. 13lacs +) and don't mind the same power rating as the Amaze (meaning the Vento beats it when it comes to performance and handling), I'd say wait for it.

Regards,
Vipin

PS. I wish VW continued giving the old alloys with the Vento (like the one on your car). I like that one much much better than the one on my car.

Story of Vento!!!

The story of 31/12/13,the final day of 2013.

This evening,we went to a resort, which is about 30 Km from Hyderabad for new year celebration. One of my friend Innova went to pick another passengers. So,dad sent me immediately to pick them and go to resort. Then, dad and his colleagues had come in Dzire. So,the twist in the tale started. My another friend's XUV500 had overtook us.After some distance, had overtook XUV500 finally. Before overtaking us,they didn't notice our car. And,in middle,my friend, who is having Innova, had overtook us.After overtaking the XUV,they realized that it was our car. So,ended on a road where XUV,Innova were waiting for us.So,we went together. After 2am,an Innova fellow had hit Rocket's rear bumper and Rocket had suffered a small crack on bumper. My driver and dad had argued with that Innova fellow. He said that,I didn't see the car properly due to the fog forming on front glass. So,at 2:30 am,had overtook same XUV and same Innova. So,story ends. And,as a new year special,Car had done 34560 Km and 34567 Km.

Today,8 of my friends cars were present.They are Polo TDi,3 Innovas,Old Verna,Old Dzire,XUV500.

Was disappointed with new City's price. Its price is even more than Vento HL TDi.I felt Vento is too VFM compared to City Diesel.City is out of my list. And,Rocket had done 35000 Km.

Hey

Sorry to know that the Vento met with an accident. I hope everything returns back to normal soon.

Regarding the City. Yes. The diesel is way too overpriced. I would have bought the City SV petrol version.

Coming to the Punto. It is a fun to drive car. After driving the Vento, the Punto feels very underpowered but the hydraulic steering is in a class of it's own. The Punto is also more spacious than the Polo and the suspension is also better. About the A.S.S. Both are nothing to write home about, I guess.

Do let us know which all cars you are considering and we will give you our take on it. The final decision is yours, ofcourse [:)]

Vipin

Swift is out of list now.Because, dad said I made a mistake of buying Swift VDi(now sold) 4 years ago.He doesn't want a Swift again.Honda City is ruled out due to its price.Dad is almost ready to book a Rapid now.Said about buying another Vento TDi Highline in another colour,he said we will think about it.Still I love Vento after using it since 10.5 months and 22000 Km.BTW,Vento had completed 35000 Km yesterday. In 1.5 months,I would be completing one year with my German masterpiece.

He he. Like I said earlier, another Rapid will mean basicalle another Vento with a Skoda badge [:)] But yes. It is a lovely car. Or what you could do is buy the Rapid and then get a remap for the Vento. And then, you could give us a proper comparison between the two cars [:D]
On another note, wait for sometime, if you can. The new Rapid is supposedly going to come out this year? I think that's what I read somewhere.

Regards,
Vipin

Edit: I just saw that it says the Linea T-Jet is in the running? Bloody awesome car it is \m/ except for the Fiat A.S.S

Re: Beige Rocket: Pre-worshipped VW Vento Highline TDi; 30000 Kms Up

Dad saw Honda City newer one on this Sunday and said Vento is too better than Honda City.My dad's friend, who is looking to buy a new car in few days, planning to buy Honda City Diesel or Vento Diesel or Rapid Diesel. He own a Skoda Octavia Rider 2006 model and done 1.3L+ Km in 7.5 years without any issues and he sold his new gen Swift VDi 2011 August in June 2013 for 5.5L and ran 32000 Km.Which Car suits him better?

And,BTW,my Vento had 23000 Km in 11 months as of today.Still a month for her 1 year.Im bit busy because I'm concentrating on my 10th class exams, which is from 27th March 2014 till 11th April 2014,instead of concentrating on cars these days.As of now,Odo reading is 35700 Km.

You are in 10th std? :-o I hope you aren't the one who is driving any of your cars :) The new Honda City doesn't look all that great in flesh, especially the lighter colour. And the engine doesn't add any points to it. But the car is fully loaded and if it is features one is after and if you choose it over some NVH, then the City would be a good car :) Me? I prefer ze German

Regards,
Vipin

PS: Finalized on the Skoda or still in the process of selection?

Yes,I'm in 10th right now.I too prefer a Vento over City when it comes to performance.Still in the process of buying new car because lack of vitamin-m.Our purchase is still on hold and would be buying a new one soon.My dad's friend, who is looking for new car,had almost finalized to get a new Vento TDi in White colour.By mistake,as of today, that Skoda had done 1.42L Km.

Re: German Masterpiece: Pre-worshipped VW Vento Highline TDi; 1 Year Up

Had went to tyre shop for quotes of tyres.

The following quotes which I got are:

1.Michelin Primacy 3ST-Rs.5950
2.Michelin Energy XM2-Rs.5750
3.Yokohama C-Drives-Rs.4950
4.Bridgestone Turanza ER60-Rs.5100
5.Yokohama AVS DB-Rs.5075

All are 195/60R15.

Now,in 205/55R15,he has Yokohama S-Drives and Hankook Ventus V8 RS.He is quoting Rs.5900/tyre for S-Drives and Rs.5800/tyre for Hankook.

He suggested me to go for 195/60R15 over 205/55R15 if we drive on bad roads and need comfort ride.

BTW,there was no Bridgestone MY-02 and Yokohama A-Drives with him.

And,got my rear bumper dent fixed for Rs.300.

Still 9 days for her 1 year.

Michelin Primacy is the best of the lot and if you have the budget for it, go for it [:)]
