True. I agree with Jihu. Buying the Rapid will not give you the new car feel you'll get if you buy a different car. Because both the Rapid and the Vento are basically brothers (or sisters)
Did you drop the plan of getting the Polo 1.2 TDI? The Swift is a good car but build quality is not upto the mark. The Grand i10 is also a good car with loads of features and if you plan to use it as a city car, it is the perfect car for the job.
If you have the budget for a Honda City diesel (I expect the top end City to cost Rs. 13lacs +) and don't mind the same power rating as the Amaze (meaning the Vento beats it when it comes to performance and handling), I'd say wait for it.

PS. I wish VW continued giving the old alloys with the Vento (like the one on your car). I like that one much much better than the one on my car.
