You wont be disappointed buddy! If you like tight bass then get the sub in a sealed box and if you like a bit boom then get a ported box.

Also, for components, get either GTO S649C or GTO 609C and not the cheaper one CS 6C.
I just got GTO 609C installed on the front of my car (The 1st bit of my ICE installments).. listening to it for about half an hour on the way back home from the shop, I realised the HUGE difference there is against the stock speakers. I am so pleased with the product already...

Now comes the 2nd part of it.. When I listen to the music, it feels like I have no speakers installed in the rear because of the powerful sound that JBL 609C is giving me. Even a tune up with the Fader and Balance settings didnt help much coz it made me reduce the sound of the front speakers to much low to keep a balance. So now am thinking of going for a better coaxial for the rear. After a bit of research, I have thought of installing JBL GT6 S366 3 way coaxial speakers. Would like any feedback from your end or suggestions for a different speakers in the same price range?

Congrats on the upgrade buddy. Components surely will over power the oem speakers. You have correctly chosen the upgrade. If most of the time there are no rear passengers then keep the fader front biased. This way youll have a frontal soundstage.
Also, post some pics.

Well this is a family car and so someone or the other is sitting behind about 70% of the time. So i think i will go for the upgrade of rear speakers too... Also, i think am getting quite a decent bass out of the components already and dont need a lot further to make me install a sub. Hence am thinking of dropping out the plan for installing a sub all together. However, To get the most out of my components and my soon to be upgraded speakers, I will still want to install an amp. So do you think S366 will be perfect for the upgrade for rears? I plan on getting a 4 ch amp still to power up the fronts and the rears as well.

Here is the picture and apologies I took only one as I reached the shop just near to the closing time and the workers there wanted to have it installed quick. But nevertheless, here it is:

Go for Infinity Primus 9603i 6 x 9 inch Coaxial Speakers. They are excellent speakers at this price point.

Infinity - Primus 9603i - 6 x 9 inch Coaxial Speakers (300 W) [Pair of Speakers] - Buy Online @ Snapdeal.com

For 4 channel amplifier try DD Audio C4C. It's a class AB 4 channel amplifier which is underrated so should output much more than advertised RMS figures

S366 seems to be a nice match to the fronts, but they are 65rms which is okish. Try to look for drivers that match rms of fronts, that way amping would yeild better results, moreover, since you are dropping the sub so a higher rms rear driver would be better.
Also, if possible avoid the primus series, its just not upto the standards Infinity has set in past with reference series.

yes.... but i cant find anything decent than s366
Here you go.

Rockford Fosgate Punch Series P16 - Costs 5k

Focal KIT 165CA1 Cost 6k

Both the above are costly options. VFM options are as follows

Polk Audio - DB651 Costs 4K

A friend of mine uses them for rear stage. Excellent speakers with good bass reproduction.

Polk Audio DXI650 Costs 5k

Polk says much better than DB651 and it seems itisfrom online reviews.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sankar.. I went through the list and read the techs (i know only a little abt the tech)... But i think on paper s366 seems better and cheaper... I may be wrong though.. Please advise..

Also since i have dropped the plan of installing a sub, do you think i should install components to the rears too since i plan on amplifying both, the fronts and the rears??

I was preferring a coaxial though since its cheaper than components.

Depends on your taste. I am employing 2 very different components for front and rear. If you want a bit of bass go fro coaxial for rear. If you do sit in back or you have family members who like music then use components in rear too.

Your referring to JBL GT6-S366 6.5" coaxial speakers right? How did you find it to be superior to Polk and Focal speakers?

Don't go simply by manufacturer specs. After what i have heard Polk Audio and Focal speakers are way better than JBL S366 in terms of SQ. Do audition each of them before finalizing on the speakers.

Yes polk is the best and then focal.
Then hertz/rockford/kicker etc n last jbl/pioneer/sony

Btw got one update in my ICE last week..
Got pioneer avh x2690bt HU the most needed last thing... n my subs pounding even more then before plus there is improvement in vocals also and overall quality then the stock HU.

I like this silver finish panel because i hated that wooden finish stock panel. It was ugly.

@ankitm
dont drop on subwoofer... without sub music feels naked to me

Guys i need your suggestion. I've upgraded my ICE 5 months back.Right now i'm using 2 sets of JBL components,1 JBL 4-channel amplifier,1 JBL mono block amplifier and a JBL CS-1215 bass tube and a stock HU.Things which i dont like about my system..

1. An irritating sound from rear plank which is due to vibration

2. I'm a kind of guy who likes soft bass rather than tight bass.Unfortunately my woofer gives out tight bass

So please suggest me how to get rid of that vibration at a cheaper cost. How to get soft bass from my woofer?.My uncle has a honda city and he is using a similar JBL bass tube but it sounds great.Where is the problem with my system. Will a get the bass which i require if i change my HU ? I need your suggestion guys Thanks
