Hey guys I have installed a jbl subwooder (275 rms) with 2 channels of gt x646 amp hooked to it*(the other 2 channels are for the rear rf speakers [:D]). At loud volumes the rear tray starts vibrating , which produces a very irritating sound. It just spoils the awesome bass quality! Is there any way to fix this?
You can damp the rear parcel tray with a good damping material. This will eliminate all rattling sounds from rear parcel tray. But let me warn you damping is an expensive affair.

Hey guys,

Am new to ICE and have little (or rather negligible) knowledge about it. Whatever little knowledge I gathered is after reading this thread.

Talking abt my question, I have recently got a Hyundai Verna and am looking at upgrading it to need some quality sound/bass off it. The details as follows:

> Your Car: Hyundai Verna Fluidic

> Budget Range: Preferably within 10k but may extend to 13k

> Looking For (Full Setup, Head Unit etc.): I don't want to change HU as of now (or rather not at all in future). According to my budget, what should I actually be upgrading in ICE, speakers or add subwoofer & amplifier since I am looking for a quality bass and sound for incabin pleasure and not to show off outside.

> Preferred Brands (If any): Not specific but want a good quality product.

> Preferred Music Genre: Mostly listen to House, Dance and Punjabi music

> Existing Audio Setup: Stock Factory setup in Verna

> Misc. Details / Specific Questions: I prefer not to block my boot space but at the same time if it compromises on sound quality majorly then I would not mind.

Must give a thumbs up for innovation but is that even safe?

So if i just get the rear parcel tray damped , can you give me a rough estimate of how much that would cost?

About safety you have to ask Varun or you can try some tests yourself.

Yoga mats are made from EVA foam that is present in the midsole of most shoes and sneakers.

You have 2 options buddy :

1. More clarity little less bass - Get yourselves a decent pair of components and move the OEM fronts to rear (if there are no rears). Get a budget 4ch amp and power all 4 with it. Budget - components 5-6K + 4ch amp - 6K + wiring 2K = 13 -14K

2. More bass a bit less clarity - Get 6x9s for rear and power fronts and rears with a 4 ch amp. Budget - Rear 6x9s 3K + 4ch amp - 6K + wiring 2K = 11K.

Another option is there (though I'd not prefer this) - Get a JBL 1215 12" sub and mate it to a 4ch amp. Bridge the 2-channel to sub and power the fronts with the other two. Budget - Sub - 3K + enclosure 1K + Amp - 6K = 10K.

Last one is the cheapest option to get "pressure" in the car but that is about it, your sub shall overpower the OEM fronts even when amped.

@freakdude I was thinking abt the third option after some reading.. However after your post I think I will be looking for the 2nd option.. If you could please suggest which component speaker and 4 channel amplifier should we go for while staying in the same budget..

Thank you for the reply.

Buddy, Option 2 doesn't suggest components, it suggests new 6x9s with existing door speakers.

But it's better to go for components in fronts (Option 1), youmay choose from RF, JBL (4K), Morels, Hertz (6K). For amp look for Kenwood M846 (5-6K).

@Freakdude If i go for option 1 and get decent components and amplifier, it will give me decent bass for in cabin listening pleasure? Am not into show off thing here. So if you tell me option 1 is good enough then that will do it for me. Oh n ya we have stock rear speakers. So as per your suggestion, replacing only front speakers will do.. Right?

At the same time, the kenwood amp suggested by yourself seems in budget but is it Jbl 4 ch amp better.. Gt x646 model?

The shop person suggested me another option as follows:

Infinity Primus - 2 pairs- Rs 2,500 each pair - Rs. 5000 for 2 pairs
2 ch Amplifier Pioneer/JVC - Rs. 4000
JBL/Pioneer Basstube - Rs. 6500
Wiring and connector kit - Rs. 2500

Total - Rs. 18000 (After little bargain, Rs 17000 - Maybe)

This is well over my initial budget but he was able to convince me as I will be getting much better speakers than stock plus a dedicated subwoofer in the form of basstube powered by the amplifier.

Do you think this is a good choice to go for if I shell out this much of money?

Primus series is just average. It would be better if you get components up front. Also, prefer a sub is a sealed box rather than tube as tubes are just too boomy with hollow bass. A sealed sub will give you the kind of bass you are looking for.

Jbl x646 is an okish amp, the kenny i suggested is better than the jbl one.

Thank you for your input once again Freakdude.

After some more thinking, this is what I have put up:

Jbl cs1215b subwoofer - Rs 4500
4 ch kenwood kac m846 - Rs 6000 / 2 ch kenwood m256 - Rs 4000
Wiring and connector kit - Rs 2500
Component speakers - please suggest

I guess I had to extend my budget to get something good for my car. Now come more questions:

Which component speakers to get?
Jbl sub or any other within abt same price range
Should we go for 2 ch or 4 ch amplifier.. Or rather should we amp the component as well along with the sub?
