It will be nice if you guys neil and nick post some pictures of your ICE set up. It will give good idea for like us who are about to upgrade the ICE.

Today gone through whole thread and observed that there is more and more complacity in upgrading the ICE in terms of brands, wiring, SQ,product availability, installation, care to be taken after installing ICE and much much more.

Neil and Nick you guys are requested to simplify this and tell in short which is the best among above mentioned points according to your experience. Please do share the pictures of ICE upgrades.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I will get all rockford punch speaker including HE 4 Amplifier for around 28,000 rupee. actual cost of 4 rockford punch speaker only 28000 rupee.so, gain of 10000 rupee. you said previous nick bhai,i cannot amplify front speaker. i cannot, even if i change them to punch?all 4 speaker i want to change and amplify. i think it will give fine sound like surround sound. and that work ordinary fitter can do.
its nice choice. how much did he asked for 1 set of speaker? and how much for amplifier?
for proper surround sound go for front component. and you can amplify front punch speakers.
i think hertz he4 has 1 preout , to which you will be able to connect one more amp for sub in future.

currently in this car i dont have much of ICE done. i have only 1 amplifier connected with 1 sub. all other things are stock.
If you want to see my previous car ICE video - go to my channel neelppatel007's Channel - YouTube and see older honda city videos.
I was a total noob in the beginning and then learned few things by reading on net or forums or asking my ICE fitter or experiencing myself . so i am not at all guru. my information might be faulty sometimes. if i will get time i will try to summarize it but it will be little difficult for me

even nick has good ice but we both still on the half way and need to upgrade few things to complete our ICE.
Ashokpoondi has good upgrades in ICE. he has put some photos. you can search for it.

Thanks neil for information. But once again i will request both of you to post pictures of whatever you have upgraded instead of videos. as i have slow internet speed it takes a lot time to buffer and its really irritating to wait. So i request all who have done ICE upgrade for verna.

One more querry- Does the stock HU support these high wattage of sub and speakers. I mean to say does these high rating amps, sub draw enough power from stock HU for optimum performance? sorry i asked wrong question.

What is better bass tube or woofer with custom made enclosure?

if yu change front seakers then you can amplify them add components in frnt overy good surround effects
which is best? 4 x hertz ECX 165 and hertz HE 4 amplifier or 4 x rockford fosgate P1S652 and hertz HE 4 amplifier? which will give best sound, more surround affect and more bass? hertz HE 4 will be used to amplify all 4 speaker.

If i fit 4 x hertz ECX 165 and hertz HE 4 amplifier, what other accessories are require? I know that 2 nos. 2 channel wiring kits are require (of reputed brand).what abt high low converter? how many watts?how much it cost?where will it fitted?what else is require?how should i make sure abt good grounding?

hertz has good sound quality and its cost is lesser then rockford. p.s there are fakes of rockford.
you will need one wiring kit for two channels and separately 2 rca and speaker wires
i dnt think you will need hi lo converter fro the hertz amp but will need a connector to attach the wires from the head unit to the amp
if you want hi lo converter it will be added behind the head unit and need 4 of it each costing 700-1000

why 4 hi-low converter. he will need 2 only no?
1 hi-low converter gives 2 ch outputs ... in my case.. and i got it for 450 rs. may be yours is different then mine.

@verna
hertz and rockford both are good. always ask for bill and ORIGINAL warranty card for every product so you wont be cheated easily.
about grounding i have replied in previous posts
when you are planning to upgrade ICE?

i plan for soon when i am clear of doubt because no big car audio dealer here/hyundai dealer is clear telling facts abt installation.i again thanks u and nick bhai for so much helping me.i cannot forget.[:)]
can i do installation without hi-low converter.i ask 2 audio shop(not reputed) and hyundai dealer they can fix hi-low converter or no,they r not confidant.
i am final now thinking of 4 x hertz ECX 165 and hertz HE 4 amplifier.
what all require in installation if i go without hi-low converter.no one i ask is confidant.[frustration]

for hertz HE 4 amp,i would hope not converter is required.
for each channel-one 2 channel wiring kit,2 rca and speaker wires ?
that means, 2x(2 channel wiring kit,2 rca and speaker wires) for amplify all 4 speaker?
i am sorry nick bhai for so many question.i am very new to car driving and 1st time car music system change.very confuse i am.one thing go wrong then again problem.

that's a very good choice. definitely go for it.
So list of final things you will have to purchase -
4 X Hertx ecx 165
1 X Hertz HE4
2 X Wiring kits
2 X Hi-Low converter (if needed)

Scosche wiring kit comes in a sealed packet which contains all the wires and fuse needed.

ya scosche wiring contains all that is needed.i have attached few photos here. it may help you.

1st photo - for verna - this is the backside of my sony double din HU(i am not using it anymore) - it's to show that those 3 white and red colored outputs are called "PREOUT" - as you see in the 4th photo there is no such preouts in our stock HU in verna
2nd photo - after removing HU - those are the wires , to one of those - hi low converter will be connected.
3rd photo - Scosche wiring , that i used for my subwoofer - comes in such packet. it can be 1000 watts too. there are different types. 680 watts will be good one.
4th photo - Backside of our stock HU. you can see those white coloured outputs. I think those are hi-level outputs.

@sandy_fluidic

5th photo - My 2 amps. Currently i am using only JBL amp to power my amp. Sony amp is resting in my home.
6th photo - Sub - infinity 1260w with custom made ported box( 2 cubic ft )
I have nothing else to show you in my car for now. I will upload pics if i upgrade anything.

This is what hi-low converter looks like -
one end is normal wires that is connected to HU and other end is two white and red colored preout. you will need 2 of these.

you just need to connect those two wires to respective wire coming from HU. and to those preouts - scosche wire will be connected to the amp.

I hope your doubts are clear now
