Re: Will Nissan Evalia takes on Toyota Innova & Suzuki Ertiga !!

Personally i feel it can give a run for its money to the innova but only to the taxi segment.
It satisfies all the primary requirements of space ,FE all aspects fulfilling the yellow boards.
It can kill the xylo on account of 85ps or the body roll which should be lower than xylo (D2 Variant)

since the soccer mom concept never took off in india i cannot see any personal owners for it though.

Evalia won't be pitched to cab driver's, cab business will be taken care by Ashok Leyland with a rebadged Evalia.

I feel somewhat the looks of evalia won't click with private buyers it looks very van like but looking at space, mileage , comfort it really beats every other car .

Re: Nissan Makes NV200 (Evalia) Van with Ashok Leyland

Personally, I don’t think Evalia can dethrone Innova. It might be a worth considering option for taxi operators but Innova is as an all rounder for private buyers. Many manufacturers have come and gone with the claim to challenge Toyota but still Innova continues to lead the lot. Nissan has stated that pricing would not be ‘aggressive’ though it's likely to be affordable than Innova. I would just wait and watch for the launch before commenting further.

But who will buy AL Stile then ? [confused]
If Nissan declares no permit for this van, it will be taken by private users, else it will be a dud coz taxi operators would anytime pick AL over Nissan for lower initial cost + brand of AL.

Evalia has good looks than Innova and modernised, for that matter even the upcoming AL's stile is also good than an Innova.
Who said this to you ??

EVALIA is inferior in:

-Rear Suspension: It features Traditional Leaf-spring rear suspension as compared to Multi-link type of Innova, Safari.

-Rear Seating: Its rear seating is more of like a Upright Van-like, than comfier couch type of Innova, Ertiga or even Tata Winger.

-Rear Door windows: Its rear door windows are very small & are rudimentary like 3rd row butterfly-type windows of Taxi MUVs(Tavera, etc).

-Rear Door pad design: Its Rear door pad design is also very restricted due to their opening pattern(sliding type) for which it can't be much sculpted.

-Tail-gate design: Its Tail-gate design is also van-like & is too bland for personal car usage.

Drive the car & I'm sure, you'll get the feel that you're driving like a Mini-truck based passenger carrier.
Better is to compare this UUV(Urban Utility vehicle, as Nissan calls it) with Tata Winger Platinum than Innova or Ertiga.

Spot on , i am sure the features won't be offered like the xylo.

Evalia won't be pitched to cab driver's, cab business will be taken care by Ashok Leyland with a rebadged Evalia.
And that's called Stile, guess they plan to release it in the year end.

True, but its better than Xylo, Winger. My parents liked this very much, for the compact looks, subjective on the matter though, don't know about the north side, but in the south people look at the real features which they actually need and i can say this somewhat satisfies people.

Add A.S.S of the Company too.

Nope not yet, probably Nissan might launch this by September end.

Bad news on comfort side.

It's still to be gauged, and for your information, Ertiga sucks big time in the rear seat space, i don't know about Innova as i have sat in the bucket seats which was a 7 seater

-Rear Door windows: Its rear door windows are very small & are rudimentary like 3rd row butterfly-type windows of Taxi MUVs(Tavera, etc).
Even this is an MUV.

.-Tail-gate design: Its Tail-gate design is also van-like & is too bland for personal car usage.
That's according to the taste of an individual, i find it decent and not too overdone.

That's a nice point to be noted, as they target this for Innova, they should plan much more to bring down the sore points. And MUVs are looked more into the utility picture than the driving ergonomics.

Though looks are more of a subjective thing, but still i won't pit it against any MPV or LUV. Even many MUV are better lookers than it.

Ertiga sucks big time in the rear seat space, i don't know about Innova as i have sat in the bucket seats which was a 7 seater
Ertiga's big +ve lies in its 2-way adjustable middle row seats, which can be adjusted 'to & fro' with adjustment while rarely its any competitor offer such feature. It offers wide range of Middle & Rear-most legroom.
While its competitors are still living with middle & rear most seats with fixed legroom.

Yes Innova, Xylo, Grande, you think they are good looking? I felt This is okay then the ones mentioned.

Ertiga's big +ve lies in its 2-way adjustable middle row seats, which can be adjusted 'to & fro' with adjustment while rarely its any competitor offer such feature. It offers wide range of Middle & Rear-most legroom.
There is the point, when the 2-way adjustable middle-row seats when you push forward, you get space in the rear seat and too less space at the front, similarly, when you move the seat backwards you get more space at the front and less space in the back seat.

While its competitors are still living with middle & rear most seats with fixed legroom.
Because its competitors has good space management unlike the Ertiga.

What do you mean by people in south look at real features ? How you know this ? And how do you know that it satisfies people ? Was some survey done in south ? Or maybe you can explain a bit more in detail exactly what you mean ?

Please don't take it in a offensive way but I found this statements of you quite vague and full of assumptions .

About looks its highly a subjective matter you like the evalia it's great I love the grande more then Innova or some one might find the ertiga a gorgeous vehicle . To give you real life example one freind of mine likes innova more then land rover freelander iam serious .so there is no point in arguying about looks on which is better and one is absolutely free to express his subjective opinion .

All in all depends how Nissan will price it and position it atleast for now in my subjective opinion it looks great in space, ease of driving and good reliable proven engine minus the looks .

buddy, understand, a person in the environment where he lives and has a keen interest in things will go on finding answers and the factors.

By real features i meant the essential features to be more clear, here a person buys an MUV as per his requirement and doesn't spend too much drooling for the features a vehicle has.

And how do you know that it satisfies people ? Was some survey done in south?
People around me, reviews, word of mouth,TV reviews, what more do you need?

I think I will not post anymore on this subject because it will unnessecary lead to off-topic discussions which are of no help to the forum since it is a auto lovers forum and not critical thinking and objectivism forum . Sorry and thanx .
