Yes, but having truck on same platform/body is not good. Building a truck is different than having truck cum van. It is for this reason scorp pick-up is not launched in India else it will affect regular UV sales.
You know the market isn't it, A country like India looks more for utility than luxury or added safety, you should drive safe that's all.

I hope Stile would sell more than Evalia because None (in the segment) has destroyed Innova.Anyway let us see, the launch is near.

Lot's of interior parts borrowed from Micra
[frustration]
Earlier the face used to be similar, now cos are using same interiors. After some time, there will be just 1 car & multiple labels. Every day, put different label & drive a new car.[lol]

Nissan Evalia revealed to the online media

Nissan India has invented a whole new category called ‘Urban Class Utility Vehicle.’ Nissan wants to slot the Evalia between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova. The Evalia is 85% localized and will be made in the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Chennai sharing assembly lines with the Micra and Sunny.
Pointers from the press conference:
The launch is expected to take place in the last week of September or early October.
The Indian Evalia is the most feature-loaded model compared to all international market examples.
“Shift timing,” a display similar to Honda’s “Eco meter” is present on the dashboard for encouraging soft driving.
Beige interiors are offered exclusively in India.
The Evalia is presented in four variants (XE, XE+, XL and XV). ABS and EBD are standard in all variants. The low-end variant will not get Airbags.
Follow-me-home headlamps is a segment first. The vehicle gets a rear view camera but no parking sensors.
Electric OVRMs and ergonomically positioned gear lever are smart features.
The CNG version is currently under study for India. There is absolutely no plan to launch an automatic transmission variant as of now.

Re: Nissan Makes NV200 Van with Ashok Leyland

Few negative points seen in an auto-show review:

1. The middle-row seats do not slide. So to enter the 3rd row seats, just fold the middle row seats & go through the 5-6inches leg space available. Or open the rear door, fold one side 3rd row seat & sit on the adjoining seat. [surprise]

2. A/C vents for 3rd row but only on right side. So left side passenger will not have any vents.

3. Open glove compartment.

4. Middle row windows do not open fully. They just flap out an inch or so, like air vents. And the size of windows is too small.

5. Rear bumper is too thin. If there is an impact from behind, the body will be damaged.

To me if one can live with its look, then it makes good sense to pick Evalia over Innova.
Evalia has good looks than Innova and modernised, for that matter even the upcoming AL's stile is also good than an Innova.

I wouldn't say that. The rear design of Evalia looks absolutely boxy and flat.Innova looks much more car like, low and hunkered down when compared to lean, tall and boxy Evalia.

Will Nissan Evalia takes on Toyota Innova & Suzuki Ertiga !!

Friends,

It is interesting to read the news about this new MUV(you may call some thing else)Nissan Evalia. I found this test drive review from Cartrade which looks very interesting !!

Nissan Evalia Review - Expert Review: Nissan Evalia Review : The Urban UV | cartrade.com

Now the question is will it be a competition to Toyota Innova or Suzuki Ertiga ??

When I was reading the review, I felt this could be a strong contender for both of them provided Nissan focus on more showrooms and more service back up.

I started this thread which can be helpful for the new MUV buyers of our forum where I expect our Innova & Ertiga owners will participate and let us know the facts in comparison with this. One more reason, we are also thinking for a MUV in our family of office cars, but not very urgent !!
