Re: Nissan Makes NV200 (Evalia) Van with Ashok Leyland

RUMOR: NISSAN INDIA TO LAUNCH UPGRADED EVALIA MPV IN 2013?

The MPV does not feature an enclosed glove box on its dashboard, instead making do with a cavity that doesn’t have a lid. Also, the windows on the rear of the MPV do not come with roll down windows, instead featuring butterfly-type windows. So, in the upgrade, Nissan could possibly modify these features, giving them more conventional designs.

Re: Nissan Makes NV200 (Evalia) Van with Ashok Leyland

Took a short test drive of this Evalia,

Quick features and initial impressions that i noticed:
- Looks are good like premium luxury van.
- NVH levels are good and there's too little diesel clatter.
- Very well refined 1.5 dci engine under the hood.
- Engine response is good (87 Bhp) in cities, don't know about its highway manners.
- Flexible 3 row seating, all 7 members can travel with full comfort, 2nd and 3rd seats easily welcomes 3 people to sit abreast.
- Gear and and Steering is very light to give car like feel.
- Visibility from front and A pillar is good.
- All models including basic one gets ABS+EBD
- Stands up to the TVC, perfectly moves like music

Now for some initial drawbacks:
- Priced a bit on the higher side.
- Plastic quality doesn't fit the price levels.
- Features provided are less.
- Middle row windows doesn't roll down, nor doesn't have butterfly type like Venture, So A/C must be on all the time in hot and humid climates.
- Doubtful and scarce A.S.S (For Eg, there's only one dealer and serivce centre in a city like bangalore)

Final Verdict on the car:
If not too much concerned about the comfort levels on all the seats, then Ertiga is the vehicle which is to be considered, else Evalia is the best best one can go for in 10-12 lakh budget.

For Bangalore the prices OTr Starts from 10.57 lakhs to 12.45 Lakhs.

Note: This is according to my views and opinions.

True to some extent, but looks modern enough than the others in competition

Unfortunately no, as i was more concerned about my dad's decision on this, so was busy looking for the features and other things.

I want to add some more points:

About the pros:
- Though the rear wheels are supported by leaf-springs, it doesn't give a screaming jerk nor it pushes you, to support my claim i instructed my dad to go through a pot-hole which was in front of us and experienced this.
Needless to say as usual look by the SE [anger].

Hahahahah why SE is like that[lol], then I think I really appreciate the SE at ABS motors, Gurgaon during our test drive of Storm. I am already spinning it like mad in a rough ground and he kept on saying "sir, please go thru' that big pat-hole, sir get that jumped on that bump" something like that very enthusiastic, confident about his product and very co-operative

Evalia are seen quite on the roads in Mumbai I saw a white , grey , and silver . Asked one owner what made him buy this over a ertiga or xylo he said Nissan is more trustworthy as he has used Nissan products when he was in USA .

Because he saw us getting down from "Alto", and you know these dealers and status problem in India, he was giving weird looks, add to that my father and myself jerked the car two times(it does happen when you drive the car for first time isn't it?), so he was already kind of frustrated and was always keeping his hand in the handbrake. That's the reason.

Evalia is good over Ertiga for the seating position and leg space it has got, nothing else matches with ertiga.

Evalia is good over Xylo for easy driving and smooth clutch, else Xylo is a lot worth going for.

Nissan has a long long way to prove their name in India which they are already doing and its good for them too.

Re: Nissan ashok leyland passenger van spy pics

It is a rebadged evalia. Nissan and Leyland developed it jointly.

Nevertheless, kudos for the shots.

Thanks for sharing the pics buddy, its the Stile from Ashok Leyland and its derived from Evalia. Speculations are that it might comes in the 1.5 L diesel engine producing 68BHP, the engine is mostly from that of dost's.
Also there is a CNG version coming in the van.

Looks a lot like the evalia. Might be much worst though.
It is mainly targeted for the commercial vehicle segment, might come with the
delivery vehicle application.
