I want to shift from Swift to a bigger vehicle. have took test ride of Chevy Enjoy, Nissan Evalia & Maruti Ertiga.
Ertiga-VXI was impressive in pick up & interiors but after looking @ Nissan Evalia i am very much confused.
Evalia has huge space, leg room and Milegae is about 15-16 kmpl.
Plz suggest.

In Nov 2012, I test drove the Evalia with 7 passengers, with A/C on ; both on the highway, on internal city roads and on steep inclines. I loved the performance of the K9K engine, the handling was car-like and the driving view was nice. The space (inside) is awesome and the luggage space is fantastic - after all seats are occupied. I would recommend upszing the tyres.
The official fuel efficiency is 19 Kms/litre and even at 15-16 Kms/litre is very economical. In addition, the vehicle (in the NV2000 avatar) has proven reliability across multiple markets.
Given the space, engine performance, fuel efficiency & price points, I would recommend the Evalia over the Ertiga, Enjoy and Xylo. If you don't have the budget for the Innova or don't like the Innova for any reason, I suggest you go with the Evalia. It will give you reliable service for many years and for several lakhs of kilometers.
It may be prudent to wait for the upcoming refresh later this year, since it will likely have roll down middle seat windows and a few other enhancements based on customer feedback. See -

The Ashok Leyland Stile, the commercial version of the Nissan Evalia, is preparing for its launch which is set to happen anytime now.
The people carrier was spotted in Bengaluru.As the D Day gets closer, the Stile sheds its camouflage, only the badges are hidden beneath tapes. If you look close, the white car ahead is also a test mule.
Well, initially we considered the possibility that it could be the Evalia which is undergoing a makeover, but the trade certificate plates are consistent with the earlier test mules of the Stile. In addition, Evalia has reflectors on the tailgate that look like extensions of the taillights but the Stile misses it.
The Ashok Leyland Stile sports a different front fascia compared to the Evalia but that’s where the dissimilarities end. The rest of the MPV is same as the Evalia. Even the interior design and layout are shared but the color of the plastics and upholstery are changed.
Like the Evalia, the Stile is also powered by the famous 1.5 litre K9k diesel engine sourced from Renault. The motor puts out 86PS and 200 Nm of torque. The Evalia manages an ARAI certified mileage of 19.3 kpl and the Stile should arrive at almost similar figure which is a boon for commercial vehicle operators.
The state of the test mules suggests that Ashok Leyland is almost done with the testing phase.

Nissan is planning to rejuvenate its Evalia with a series of improvements to make it more appealing and upmarket. The current Evalia suffers from an image problem as the MPV is seen to be too van-like and utilitarian for use as a private vehicle. As a result, Nissan hasn’t been able to sell more than an average of 177 units a month (Jan–May 2013) whereas Toyota’s mighty Innova clocked a monthly average of a staggering 5,670 units during the same period.
Nissan will give the Evalia certain key features to make it feel more premium. The very basic bench-like middle row will get the option of ‘captain seats’ with better fabrics and superior cushioning to make them plusher. The rest of the cabin will be spruced up as well with improved plastics, richer materials and extra equipment.
Nissan also plans to address the biggest complaint from Evalia owners – the fixed middle window, which has been re-engineered to slide open in the new model. Retro engineering a conventional wind down or power window opening was proving too complex and expensive, especially for a vehicle with doors that slide open, which is a pity.

The interiors of the Stile are also sourced from the Evalia MPV, the only change is that the Nissan badge is replaced with Ashok Leyland's. It is also speculated that the Stile MPV could receive the captain seats for the middle row, which is also expected to be featured in the upcoming facelift of Evalia. While the cabin space and the luggage carrying capacity of the vehicle too will be similar to the Evaila.

On the highlighted parts If this happens to be true, then i prefer to buy the Stile anyday over the Evalia, but only 50,000 lesser than the evalia? Man not VFM definitely, because the Evalia doesn't sound VFM for the features it is offered in, anyway let us see how it fares.
I heard the max engine output of this vehicle will be 65 BHP and hence dropped the plans to buy it.

Ashok Leyland's Style found on road test today. Looks like final tests before launch. I saw the drivers were taking rest asked them about the van. They said they did long test drives. They did not allow me to take photos. I still managed from long distance.
