3 Options to choose from is a good option which i saw from 12.1.x onwards if i am not wrong. At times, it does not include the best route where most of the 4 wheelers go.
I always add multiple way point and make it the way I want. Hope they will soon make it the best/perfect app.

Just noticed that the app is uploaded to store on 19th sep. All the comments are from 19th only. They may soon put it as a trial version once they get 50000+ downloads. Now it is kind of brand new app.

Where brother ? Are you talking about this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sygic.aura ?
This is a trial version. I could not read trial anywhere !

Checked the app also. I cant find anything which says 'trial' . Let us know where you saw it ! [evil]

In their website, that points to the above link which is a trial version. Not the one nitin_k posted. If otherwise, post a link where it points to sygic.mmi

BBM launch has been postponed

The much anticipated release of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) for Android and iOS hit a roadblock on Saturday, with the company saying it is pausing the first ever rollout of the popular messaging app to third-party platforms.

Having announced that BlackBerry Messenger would be available for Android on Saturday and iPhone on Sunday, there was huge anticipation for the impending release of the application on Google's mobile platform on Saturday. However, that never materialised, as the official build of BlackBerry Messenger for Android never hit Google Play Store, though a leaked build was seen floating around.

This leaked build obviously got circulated quite a bit, with BlackBerry revealing over 1.1 million active users within 8 hours. The company blamed this leaked build for "issues", which it "attempted to address throughout the day".

While the iOS version of the app did hit Apple's App Store in some countries in the Eastern Hemisphere early hours of Sunday, BlackBerry has now paused further rollout of the app in other countries, and even pulled the app from countries it did release in.

Users who managed to install the iOS version of BlackBerry Messenger before it was pulled will be able to continue using the app. However, BlackBerry revealed it is disabling the leaked Android build, so anyone who got their hands on the unofficial build is out of luck.

BlackBerry did give an exact date on when BlackBerry Messenger for Android will be available again, but it did say that continued rollout for iOS and a 'staggered' rollout for Android will begin "as soon as we are able." Whether that means a couple of days, weeks, or months, is anyone's guess.

Here is BlackBerry's statement on the subject in full:

Prior to launching BBM for Android, an unreleased version of the BBM for Android app was posted online. The interest and enthusiasm we have seen already - more than 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours without even launching the official Android app - is incredible. Consequently, this unreleased version caused issues, which we have attempted to address throughout the day.

Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it's ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM. We are pausing the global roll-out of BBM for Android and iPhone. Customers who have already downloaded BBM for iPhone will be able to continue to use BBM. The unreleased Android app will be disabled, and customers who downloaded it should visit BBM for Android & iOS - Download BlackBerry Messenger with BBM Video & Screen Share - US to register for updates on official BBM for Android availability.

As soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone. Please follow @BBM on Twitter for the latest updates and go to BBM for Android & iOS - Download BlackBerry Messenger with BBM Video & Screen Share - US to sign-up for updates about BBM for Android and iPhone. These issues have not impacted BBM service for BlackBerry.

Wow, wonderful. Now say, Nitin bro. [clap]

Big bunch of BBM Fake apps have flooded the playstore. Merely searching for “BBM” on Google Play store gets you this following results :

Fake BBM for Android Apps Flooding Play Store

The names of this apps read : BBM for android,BBM messenger android,BBM messenger center,BBM messenger Free,BES10 client, Workspace Manager for BES10 and what not! enough to confuse a newbie searching for the actual messenger. Also there are some guides and ‘how to use BBM’ apps which are merely of no use. Every effort has been made to look this fake applications legit.

This isnt the first time that play store is dumped with fake apps. This practise has been already followed earlier many a times. Some of these apps also doesn’t even follow Google policies as they claim that the app is official from Blackberry.

Downloads of such fake apps gets you nothing. Some are total junk while others have some malicious coding in them that steal user’s data. All are sources of some or the other advertisements. This creates a great chaos as the Official BBM app has not yet been anounced by Blackberry and the one unaware of it falls prey to such fake crap!

no more doubts about SYGIC app now. it is officially free. thanks nitin

App developers are struggling to make money in India because of low credit card penetration, according to Michael Stencl, CEO of maps provider Sygic, which has now dropped the $5.58 fee to download its GPS navigation app. As Indian Android owners remain reluctant to purchase apps, mapping providers are turning to features such as offline availability to compete with Google, which has grown in stature since launching turn-by-turn navigation and live traffic updates for Indian smartphone users last year.

Stencl told TechCrunch it was forced to eliminate the fee for the Android version of the Sygic India: GPS Navigation app because of low daily sales in India (~$250 a day) — about a sixth of sales in the United States (>$1,500 a day). Meanwhile, Sygic’s iPhone app, which also uses data from local digital cartographer MapmyIndia, still costs a prohibitive $27.99.

“Our Sygic & MapmyIndia app has been one of the most successful and top-grossing in India on Google Play, but India still has a very low penetration of credit cards, which makes it difficult to monetize there successfully,” Stencl said. ”In order to maintain a competitive marketshare, we have decided to make our app free, and wait until the market in India is more developed.

“Over the past four years, Sygic has witnessed revenue growth of nearly 250%, and we feel that by continuing to invest development resources in key geographies like India, and maintaining a customer focused strategy, we will be able to extend our leadership position globally.”

While Indians downloaded 150 millions apps from the Google Play store by October 2012, only 0.5 percent of customers paid to download these apps, according to a recent report called “India’s mobile internet 2013” by Avendus Capital. The average price was just over $1, and Avendus estimates the Google Play store sold about $2 million worth of apps this year. However, the report predicts that the Indian app market will grow five-fold by 2016, to be worth about $30 million.

India’s credit card adoption languishes at around 20 percent, according to a 2012 HSBC report, but credit spending could pick up in the future as more cards have been issued in recent years.

Sygic’s new free app also works offline, which is a useful feature in a country where the network coverage is sporadic as you move around cities and into the rural areas. TomTom recently released a local version of its Android navigation app, which costs about $30, and also works offline. It also allows users to search for a location based on a nearby landmark or point-of-interest (this is the most popular, and usually the most accurate, way to get around cities in India). So far the TomTom app has been downloaded between 10 and 50 times, compared to over 10,000 downloads for the Sygic app. It’s still a far cry from Sygic’s 30 million global downloads.

The offline availability is a key differentiator from incumbent Google, which is increasingly integrating Waze’s social navigation and traffic data into the Maps apps, following the search engine giant’s recent $1 billion acquisition of the Israeli startup.
