All-New Ford Endeavour Now in India

In other markets ford endeavour compared to Prado and fortuner considered below one league. Does it hold true in India also? It seems no. Someone in our forum can throw more lights on it

How is the ownership experience of endeavour locally? Any ownership thread for same

The Endeavor can hold its own to any big SUV whether be it Prado or Fortuner, the internals of new Endeavor are superb, specially the front suspension and the rear watts link to counter the top down rocking associated with traditional leaf rear suspensions with locking differentials

What I wish for is just that Ford could have added Navigation and a slightly easier 3rd row tumbling mechanism, apart from that I feel the new Endeavor is flawless

Its sure that the new Fortuner will rob sales of Endeavor and make Endeavor a sub 400 per month seller , but that dosent mean the Toyota is outright better.

Hi,
This is my first post after long time in slumber.Ford introduced the SYNC 3 in 3.2 Titanium from october 2016,officially confirmed by the live chat, dealer network and Tv commercial.Navigation is available with SYNC 3 as it works with either Android Auto or Apple Car Play.
Hoping Ford slashes the prices of the 3.2 Titanium and updates the Endy with missing features which are available abroad as the New Fortuner will be officially launched on November 7th.Seriously considering the Endy as my next upgrade.
SYNC 3 is an upgrade that must come from factory, so existing Endeavours wont get it, thats for sure.
Now regarding new Endeavors as per my knowledge only the 2017 manufactures models will be available with SYNC 3,.2016s are all going to be SYNC 2,


The missing features on Endeavor are push button start,Navigation, one touch stumble seats.
I dont think any of them will join Endeavour at least till 2017 CBUs reach India.
Till then we will not get any update to current Endeavor.

Regarding price tag,
I still think despite the lack of Navigation and push button start the Endeavor is priced exrremely well.
In fact if we check on road prices Endeavor is just under 1 lakhs less expensive than some D segment executive sedans like Passat,Superb,Audi A3 etc,
By 2017 the Panther 2.2 TDCis will be made in India which means the 2.2 TDCi variants will be a lakh more cheaper ex showroom than what its as of now making the 2.2 TDCi Endeavors almost unbeatable in value for money.

Between new Fortuner and new Endeavor, both are neck to neck, even though Endeavor lacks some features,its pricing will be like way lower compared to the up coming Fortuner,
The new Fortuner will be on average 1.5-2 lakhs dearer than Endeavor variant to variant.

So what I feel is its all upto preference, after test driving both,the one that makes the bigger and better impression will enter your garage.
That said Toyota being a Toyota will sell like crazy no matter how good the Endeavor maybe.
And of course the Toyota is proven reliability champ while the Endeavor is relatively new in proving its mettle.
But as per most of TAI ownership threads, the new Endeavor is a superb deal how ever one may lookat it.

The dealer and customer care both are unaware of SYNC 3 navigation.As per data available SYNC 3 may come with Android Auto & Apple car play which allows the users to connect their smarphones to car infotainment via usb . Ford own SYNC 3 with navigation costs around 1.2 lakhs which is not feasible.

I talked to one of the dealers and he confirmed me that, new units received are with Sync 3 and they had mandate from the Ford to upgrade the older units to Sync 3 (seems hardware update)

Does SYNC 3 get Android Auto and Apple Carplay as rumoured?

Off topic but is there a list of cars that come with them in India?
other than Maruti's Smartplay infotainment system

The Toyota Hilux thats the base of the new Upcoming Toyota Fortuner fails the famous moose test,
This is a test that guarantees the stability of a machine under hard overturn situations

The chief rivals all pass the test, even Fords Everest/Endeavor based Ranger passes the test
Fortuner has always been like this even previous gen, I hate high CG SUVs frankly
Endeavour still seems planted pretty well

Wish there were more cross over/5 seaters in the market

For old suvs this used to be a common issue but the Fortuner based Hilux even at 37 mph is not stable, and add to it it has 220+ mm GC means one should be really careful even at our regular highway speeds with a Fortuner, thats why I thought of sharing this, 37 mph means around 59-60 kmph, I mean thats just Normal speed and yet thr Hilux had this jumble up,
So an even more top heavy Fortuner could possibly do worse.

I too like cross overs,
The cars from Europe like Golf,Focus,Astra,Passat Wagon,Mondeo Wagon,Astra Wagon, Volvo XC60,etc are superb vehicles that are practical and yet much needed for country like India, because large D sedans occupy lot of space and are difficult to manuver but cross over or hatch backs with D segment levels of drive,feel,interior,fit finish,quality and refinement is what India needs the most

But sadly Indians are kind of kinky and are over whelmed by image rather than what actually matters, they consider D segment as SEDAN ONLY, as its like it gives prestige,

Is upgrading from Sync 2 to 3 is techically feasible? by updating Software or Hardware or both?

Anyone of you addeded a after-market bull bar?

Sync 3 requires Hardware updates AFAIK.

Won't aftermarket bull bar hamper the airbag deployment?

The OM bull bar doesn't seem to be intruding the sensors or I think they do get some sensor adjustments. Anyhow, I am not going for one, But I thought I would check this.

Onething I like to have is leather seat covers - mine is already dirt and looks so bad!. I trust there are Air-bag ready covers. Going to check shops this weekend.
