Here I need to correct myself. The base is not made of metal and it is made of plastic. I just checked at my office and thought I should correct my mistake. But still I can confirm that it can hold much weight easily.

Dear Sankar,

Barging into your serious discussions on the armrest, could you tell me if MSIL has done a serious cost cutting in the seats in the dzire tour? I have read elsewhere that the thigh support or the cushion effect in the rear seat is not as good as the outgoing dzire lxi, ldi.

Secondly what is the fuel efficiency one can expect in the LXI/LDI

Thirdly would you know if there is any waiting period on the dzire tour?

Thanks and regards

There is absolutely no difference between dzire LDi and dzire tour LDi. I have confirmed this personally by comparing both cars side by side. Apart from visual difference like black bumpers and all there is no change given to tour.

Efficiency is something that's darn good about this car. Even though being a proper sedan at 4.3m approx it gives me 18-19km/l in stop go city traffic and 23-24km/l in highway driving. Mind you I have never driven consistently at more than 100km/hr only always drive at speeds of 80-100 and I get most efficiency in this range.

Yes my waiting period was 15days.

Sankar

Hey guys

Yes. Like Vivek mentioned, I don't think it is a good idea to drill holes in the cup holder of the Polo and spoil the pristine interiors. The OE armrest is too expensive at the moment. Let me see if I can source one from the US of A.
Sankar. I might get the armrest installed in my Getz since it is ageing and I don't mind drilling a couple of holes in the cupholder as long as it is not unsightly. And regarding installing cross overs on the door, I did it for the same reason too. To show off to my friends (who have cheap Sony and JBL speakers) that I have Infinity components and ovals [lol]

That is what i was trying to convey to you, you can do it on Getz but get the OE on the polo. Stock fit interiors are always better than after market look.

Yes but added advantage is we can flicker with crossover setting while it's installed in doors.[:D]

I have now set the crossovers in soft mode and i am enjoying my music more.[clap]

In between, I have bought a small upgrade to my ICE

Bought a new 4 channel amplifier Infinity Kappa 4
New Component for Rear stage - Polk DB6501 6.5" Components
Focal 4wg amplifier wiring kit
Focal Performance series RCA cables

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to buy old generation Dzire VDi's all four door pads? I want then to replace mine so that power window switched will be integrated into the door pad. Is it available as spare?

Does anyone have info on this? Please help me out with this.

I wanted the same for my Getz. Doorpads from a higher model. When I asked around in Hyundai, they quoted Rs. 15k for only front two doorpads (this was a couple of years ago). Do you know where the junkyards in TVM are? Places where they buy crashed cars. That would be a good place to search for the doorpads if the A.S.S guys quote insane figures.

15k for front two door pads? That's day light robbery. Let me ask the dealer's warehouse which stocks all spares here in Trivandrum. They charge only the correct amount as per Maruthi Online website. Will update on the prices once i go there.

That for for only the front two doorpads of the Getz [frustration]

All four would come to around 25k I guess.

That's what you call Daylight robbery. I am sure all 4 door pads will be available at less than 10k. It's just dealer trying to cheat you. Door pad is after all just a big piece of poor quality plastic na.

Yup. But Getz doorpads are hard to come by because the car is no longer in production. Let me see. I heard there is this guy in Kollam who can source original Hyundai parts. Let me check it with him and see what I can do.

Maruti parts should not be hard to come by.

No and it's very cheap too if you buy directly from dealer's warehouse.

Hi Folks,

Just received the following:-

Infinity Kappa 4 4 channel amplifier (125w per channel RMS [:D])
Polk DB6501 6.5" component speakers (To replace rear Rockford Fosgate Prime R-16S)
Focal 4wg amplifier wiring kit
Focal Performance series RCA

Kappa 4 will power front Rainbow components and rear Polk DB6501. My current DD Audio C4C will be bridged to power my Focal P-30 12" Subwoofer. An issue is C4C in bridged mode has 280w RMS (DD Audio are always underrated so might give out 300-320w RMS) while Focal subwoofer is rated at 250w RMS only. Will the subwoofer get burned?

Regards,
Sankar
