1.remote boot opener - No and i dont think it's available in New Dzire as well
2.rear defogger - No
3.mud flaps? - Only cost 400rs. I painted them white along with bumpers and mirrors. Looks pretty cool if you ask me.
4.electronic trip meter - Yes
5. 12v charger socket - Yes.Has a cigarette lighter which can be connected to usb port which can be used for charging mobile phones.

Hi folks,

Rewiring done by professional using Soundstream 4wg amplifier wiring kit at Car Park Trivandrum. All issues with ICE resolved except light blinking at high volumes. Light blinking can be stopped only by addition of capacitor which will be done once i buy the monoblock.

Some pics:-

Whole ICE was rewired. That's the installer Sameer, very knowledgeable guy but a bit inclined to Rockford Fosgate products.

BassFX damping in front doors was corrected using a roller. Sound signature has increased a lot now.

Arm rest removed for installation

My amplifier and subwoofer in a small sealed enclosure. Very tight bass. Mind you bass volume has reduced considerable. But SQ has increased.

Where did you get that armrest from Sankar? How much did it cost you? How is the fit and finish? And who installed it for you?

Why didn't you went for some reputed brand in case of wiring.

Don't try to install these aftermarket armrests, they are useless when ever you are gonna depend on them cause they can't take the weight. Due to their quality of material i went for the OE armrest in my car as well. You can check VW's higher models for it and check the feasibility if they can be installed.

Got it from Carpark. It costs 1400 and fit and finish is quite good. Quality is very good with good stitching and i do lean over it and i have discovered that it surely can handle more than 80kgs[;)]

Quite happy with the armrest. very useful especially for the long drives.[:D]

Soundstream does have some quality wires. Actually i am using only their power wire, ground wire and subwoofer wire. I am using Gladen RCA and Rockford fosgate speaker wires. I have replaced Scoche 8wg wires with Soundstream 4wg wires and i can feel considerable difference in quality.

Regarding aftermarket armrest i found the one of good quality. Searched a lot and couldn't find compatible armrest for old generation Dzire. The armrest i have installed easily handles my weign't as of now.[:)]

Hey Vivek

The Vento has an armrest as OE but the people here won't install it on a Polo. The OE Polo armrest can be imported but it is outrageously priced at Rs. 15k+.

Got it from Carpark. It costs 1400 and fit and finish is quite good. Quality is very good with good stitching and i do lean over it and i have discovered that it surely can handle more than 80kgs[;)]

That is nice. Do you know if they have it in beige colour? I would like one for my Getz because the armrest is sorely missed in the Getz more than the Polo (I don't know why that is).

Vipin i will ask my friend on beige armrest for Getz and will let you know if it's avaiable. In between smartwax at Smartzone costs around 5k and takes 2 days to complete. Very costly i guess[confused]

Hi Vivek/Freakdude,

I have shortlisted the following amplifiers.

Rockford Fosgate T1500-1BDCP

Info- POWER Amplifiers - T1500-1bdCP - Rockford Fosgate®

DD Audio M3b

info- M3b | DD Audio

RF can be imported at 40k but i don't know whether DD Audio can be imported likewise so don't know the cost of the amplifier from DD Audio. Please can you help guys.

Purchase has been finalized on December/January and can't wait any longer than that.

Regards,
Sankar
