Thank you Sankar for taking out the time to post the links!

BTW did you purchase the the DZIRE VDI badge/left side ovrm/ the front grill from a car accessory shop?
No i bought it from Dealer's spare parts warehouse. On inquiring about cost of left OVRM, rear chrome strip, Dzire gear nob, front Dzire grill and Dzire Vdi stickers the dealership guys quoted almost 3 times the actual price. For example front grill the dealership guy gave the price as 2700rs while it's actual price was 850rs only[frustration]. So went to the same dealer's warehouse where the actual price provided by Maruti online billing website and everything i wanted.

Please do the same as everything that you purchase from Dealership will be very costly and above MRP. It's day light robbery[anger]

In between Welcome to TAI. Missed out on wishing you.

Regards,
Sankar

Sankar, Vipin @

for your information, The Speed cameras fixed in NH 47 from Angamaly to Thrissur started working. Speed limit is 79 km/hr for cars for not to be charged. There is a increase in their charges also. It was 300rs before an year, now it is 400Rs.
Are you sure the limit is 79 kmph? Because the sign boards say 70 kmph and I have been fined Rs. 400 for doing 72 kmph.

I polish my car myself. I have the following products for this.

Merguiars Car shampoo
Merguiars Interior Polish
Merguiars Ultimate Wax
Merguiars Quick Detailer
Jopasu Car Duster
Jopasu Microfiber cloth

Regarding tar spots in your car what i have been doing to my i10 is that i wash the entire car cleanly, then soak a small cloth with diesel in tar spots. Don't rub the cloth. Just apply diesel their leave it like than for 1-2 minutes. Then clean the whole area with water. Tar spots will go for sure. Remember to apply wax after cleaning again.[:)]

Regards,
Sankar
The problem is that the entire lower half of my car (all doors and bumpers) have some kind of black spots. I don't know if they are tar spots or not but whatever they are, they refuse to go by washing. And if I have to use diesel/petrol, I will need a lot of it and a lot of patience too.

You can also use diesel to remove those tar marks or petrol can also be used on occasional basis. But don't use it regularly.
Like I was telling Sankar, I am not sure the spots are tar spots. If I have to use diesel on it, I will need a lot of diesel and a lot of patience too because almost the entire lower half of my car is covered with these minute spots.

Thanks Releesh. Speed camera are fitted all along Trivandrum-Kottayam MC road but is not working as of now.

Regards,
Sankar
Are you sure they are not working? The ones on the Kollam-Tvm route work. I know because I have been flashed a couple of times but no sign of the fine from the Traffic police :D

Oh ok. So is it okay if I soak the entire are with diesel and leave it for a couple of minutes like that? Can I rub it? Because there are like a million spots and soaking them one by one is next to impossible.

Vipin, the speed limit in Trivandrum-Kollam route is 70km/hr. My friend was fined 300rs for doing 76km/hr.

Speed cams didn't work for some time because Kerala Police didn't pay BSNL for the VPN connections taken for the cams. So cam would trigger speeds but wouldn't register with database. Not sure if they are back up and operational.

official speed limit for motor car is 70Km/hr. But some months before, for speed cameras they set the limit on 79 Km/hr. Even the police interceptor vehicles with the speed radar also charges for the speed above 79km/hr. earlier it was 70km/hr. Last month they caught my friend while driving my car and fined Rs.300. the speed was 81km/hr. My friend and police officers had a discussion on this. They told even it was 1 km/hr above than 79km/hr then also they will charge fine, since the official limit is 70km/hr and they had set the limit to 79km/hr is to avoid the debate from people like it was speedo error.

By the way they had caught me last year and fined for the over speed at 76km/hr. I had no chance for debate because i was on bike and the speed limit for two wheeler is 50km/hr.[frustration]

Use a soft cloth to do the same and don't rub it too hard.
Ok Vivek. I will try it sometime next week after my university practical exams are done with. Thank you so much [:)]

I was fined three times in all. Once for doing 110 km/h (in my Getz) where they charged me Rs. 300, the second time I don't remember the speed I was doing and the third time, because I did 72 km/h. And they charged me more (Rs. 400) for doing lower speeds (Rs. 300 for 110 km/h).

Police didn't pay BSNL [lol] That was so funny. It's like a comedy show here.

Oh ok. I was fined Rs. 400 for doing 72 km/h. This happened sometime in July or August last year if I remember right. I was flashed by the police interceptor once in my Polo (I was doing 100 km/h) but I did not stop for them because I had absolutely no money on me and I don't think they accept debit cards [embarass]. I have also been flashed a couple of times by the cameras on the highways (happened last year and the year before that) but no sign of any speed tickets at home till now. Some people say that these guys collect the tickets and keep it at the RTO and then present it all at once whenever we go there for some reason. Not sure

Thank you Sankar for the warm welcome [:)]

I understand that the dealers's warehouse sold you the accessories at the correct price and that the correct price is based on the" Maruti online billing website". Is that website accessible? Can you share the weblink? I have heard that some dealers refuse to sell accessories OTC and insist that you bring the car along.

Here you go

Buy Maruti Car Accessories India | Maruti Car Parts | Maruti Genuine Parts - Maruti Genuine Accessories

But the guys at warehouse used a different website for checking the prices and billing. Probably it's accessible only to the i guess.

Thanks Sankar for the weblink [:)]. I had earlier chanced upon this website and I note that the website lists out accessories based on the model and as expected the dzire tour is not in the list. Having said that the new dzire is listed and the popular accessories like wheel cover, side beading. fog lamps etc are listed. Unfortunately the gear knob, rear spoiler, rear chrome strip, dzire logo are not listed. How did you manage to get the right price for these accessories ?

Better you go to the dealer's showroom and ask for location of dealer spare warehouse. From this warehouse most local workshops buy spares and should be present in almost all cities in India. The most costly item that i bought was left mirror which cost me 900rs. Front grill price is 400, rear chrome granish 800, Gear nob 150 and stickers combined cost me around 200. If you buy this from Dealer's showroom all the above spares will cost 2-3 times their actual price.

Sankar
