Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

there is no 'mahindra' or ' purple' at all in that url, making me skeptical too. but as you got it via sms, on the same number you gave them, it could be legitimate. perhaps Mahindra has outsourced registration to someone.
I'll still wait for experts to comment.

meanwhile, I haven't got any communication from customer care about non-recipt of my purple club kit.

I have no idea about the Purple club website as i have never used it so won't comment on it until i find some relevant info on that. But i guess Iron Rock can help here.

And regarding the email to customer care i'll say just wait and you will get an email shortly.

This is real cool stuff. I have been watching you making tireless attempts from your day one.

One question,

Typically, subwoofer needs a shell behind to produce quality sound waves.

How is the output after the upgrade? I can clearly see you relishing [clap] on your accomplishments.

I watched M & M folks fixing reverse camera, it is really painful to watch them doing the wiring. Literally they have to rip off the plastic mold casings.

How did you manage the wiring part?

Thanks for the compliment,
Shell? I guess you are talking about the Box. I have made a flat box (Versus usual Cubical boxes) to serve that purpose. The math says that the rear sound waves coming from speaker (Which are out of phase to front waves) have a canceling effect on Forward bass waves, A box hides those devil waves to make bass sound good. Other effect is the air in a sealed box acts like cushion and stabilizes the woofer cone.

Output is fantastic! atleast like a commercial single 10 inch or 12 inch Sealed woofer. Not bad as the whole drama costed 3K rupees. They are wired to my JBL amp which was previously installed as you can read in the thread in beginning.

Got it.

Bringing concept to reality - the joy is totally different. [:)]

Coming to mine, I haven't yet tasted the Music system so it is bit early to go creative at the moment. When I played at M & M service station during PDI, it was not that bad.

I am sure your posts will come in handy in future.

I used the space under the two front seats. Installed two 8" speakers and the amp is under the second row. This allow me to fold all the seats down.

that's an interesting configuration. pics please!!
downside is that you'll loose feet ac for middle row. otherwise I had planned a 4 woofer setup!

Some pics . 1st = rear side.
2 - 4 = front view and last one is the amp under the second row. I had to move the red LEDs and bend the wire bracket a bit.

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

The sound is good. The woofers provide good bass
The woofers are Pioneer TS-W201. It is an old set I used a couple years back. Still in good condition.
The dimension of the box is 400(L) x 300(W) x 150(H). These are the outside measurements.
The port is for a remote

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

Hey Guys,
I am new to this forum. I need your advice on XUV 500. I am planning to buy this beast next month, but not too sure about the quality issues being mentioned in various forums.
I know that there is a new improved model which has been released last month. I want to know whether Mahindra has solved the major issues or it it still the same.

Hi bhvm,
I must thank you for a very detailed and informative review [clap] Infact most of the reviews are very detailed and give us an indepth ownership experience that they had so far. Looking forward to join you guys and if everything works out I will be driving my own beast very soon.

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

came to ass akash automotives, dhule to check my cd player.
they seem confused. they have said to Open dashboard and send CD player to someone else (perhaps a decor shop ) with letter of warranty. then he'll try to repair the player or replace it. whole. Operation may take upto a week and I doubt if vehicle will be driveble without the CD unit. because ac, GPS seems to built into one unit.
I live away from these ass and would be a great problems moving without my vehicle.
What to do?

I think you should get in touch with Nippon guys. They will come and replace if necessary.
