The tire behavior will only be amplified since the tire is exactly the same in basic construction and tread design.As the tire size increases and its load bearing capability increases to meet the demands of the application.

Can you please provide some facts or evidence that says otherwise or to support the statements you have made.

SUV's are a different animal altogether.Please do not take undue liberties in including them in our discussion.

Ps:Tornado is going for 195 and not 235.Please do not upsize as per your convenience.

@Jarpickle,

Better we do not drag this thread into a bit OT and disturb Tornado. So I wish to discuss this subject when I am in Mumbai very soon.

I took the size 235 just for example and not pointing to the size with Tornado is looking for.

When you discuss tyres there is no problem when we compare them on hatch or sedan or SUV too which are personalised vehicles and we not going to discuss about trucks which are not justified here.

As a manza owner whose car from the day 1 had left pulling problem (I refused to take delivery) which got 2 tyre change on the 1st day itself didn't solve the problem then went for endless WAWB over 45-50 times in 1st 6 months & total 4 tyre changes within 1st 5000kms I have had all appolo , goodyear, bridgestone, MRF fitted on my manza. I can say that each tyre change (brand new) made the steering behavior different, off course each tyre change (along with RIMS) the workshop guys tinkered with WAWB too which I objected as it will induce more variables in the left pulling problem, they didn't heed to my objection & messed up further.

I am not sure if the same tyre will behave the same way on 2 different makes of car which have different wheel size, wheel width, steering, suspension, most importantly different caster & camber settings. Castor values are factory set & we cant do much change to that.

I would not buy tyre based on how they perform on other cars,
my prime reason of selecting would be as follows

my driving style
what speed brackets do I normally have to brake
what kind of roads & road condition do I have to drive
do I need emergency braking on wet roads when on high speed
do I need to do hill roads which are often inclined, wet & broken
Tyre life is concern but cant be the main concern as safety matter the most to me & along with good road traction if I can get better rolling (more mileage) its the best for me.

Soon I will be searching for the best trye for my manza based on this above mentioned requirements.

@Gurrala74:

I have not discussed SUV's anywhere.

My comments are directly related to Tornado's choice.As far as I know he drives a Manza.

If this discussion were about an SUV I would not have brought my 800 into the discussion at all.

SUV is a personalized vechicle yes, but its dynamics are different.It has two differentials, there is offroading involved.SUV section on Bridgestone is different from passenger cars tires.This is called fact sir,please provide some.

Keep all examples relevant to the discussion.

@Gypsy:Your points are Valid.Btw one of the members Varun recently posted about camber adjustment that was done.Please check out the following thread for more details.

http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/technical-zone/1319-tyre-alignment-balancing-7.html

If you want safety, you need better grip and handling.Michelin provides best grip, but do not take my word for it.The internet is your friend, please do your research.

Tornado, mods sorry about going OT.

At least in manza camber is adjustable & thats what has wrong values (its debatable) so manza camber is adjusted, its the caster which is fixed in manza & yes it too can be altered but you need specialist who know what they are doing to change this. ON a new car I dint want to let that happen.

@Jarpickle

I reiterate again here, it is not the matter of M800 or Ritz here.

My whole point is for example ER 60 experience on M800,Ritz diesel and Manza will be different[:)] then your next question is how ?? then drive all the 3 of them with same model tyre you will understand. It is not the matter of tyre but matter of the car more.

Gypsy has explained it very well in his post, so I do not want to add anything more to it and would like to stop the discussion here and make way for Tornado to take a decision

Why did you not say this in your opening line, why make the argument and then say this "Gypsy has explained it very well in his post, so I do not want to add anything more to it and would like to stop the discussion here and make way for Tornado to take a decision"

Have you experienced the ER60 first hand?

Have you driven any of the 3 vehicles with ER60?

If you are making statements that their behavior will be different you tell me how you came to this conclusion.

Well ,which amongst the turanza ER 60 & potenza RE88 is softer ?
Is it wise to go for softer tire despite upsizing ?

Can someone post chemical composition of both ?

There is no argument between us, we were discussing and posting our experiences. But some how I felt we might have moved from the main subject of the thread and hence I have said we stood stop that discussion on this thread and as it may confuse Tornado.

I really do not know how to convince you on this matter, but try it in my best way to explain my view point here

I have no experience of ER 60 on all these cars mentioned by you, but I just have experience of driving a Manza which is with ER 60.

Now coming to the conclusion part, I have experience of JK on Alto and on my Ritz and they do behave differently.

On Alto they were very good comfortable having good grip and less noise too

On my Ritz at present, there is no proper grip, body roll felt more and make lot of noise.

So based on the above experience I have just raised a question that same brand of tyres may behave differently on different cars. And expect Tornado to check ER 60 experience with other Manza owners on the internet.

You may be having a different experience with ER 60 on your car, no offense on your view point buddy.

My humble request is do not make the forum as court hall please and have little respect for fellow members experience too[:)]

She's perfect in her stock shoes. Goes well with good and bad roads. Still have a long time before I change them. They are Bridgestone.
Right now I am at a Chinese port. Will be back by August.

When I left home, I had done 13500 kms. Later it has been driven for about 1500 kms more. So total 15000 kms. I feel these tyres are good. I have bad experience of JK Tornado on my wagon R. One night in Kolkata rain and my car was jumping the next day! There were blisters on the tyres. I had to ***kin change all of them the same day. I put Apollo Acelere. And these are impressive. Braking was improved considerably. Next day I was on highway. Somehow started a race with a honda City. [:)] Couldn't beat it, but kept the other driver on his toes. And suddenly he applied brakes. I too had to. I was at around 135. I stopped without skidding. It was a stupid act, and luckily nothing happened. Had it been Tornado, scene would have been different.
