The waiting period for Zest Diesel is for eight weeks and will not be in a position to afford even a slightest increase in prices as I already stretched my budget.

I have filtered between Grand i10 Diesel / Petrol or Swift Zxi / Swift Vdi

Will grand i10 Diesel be the best choice ?

Grand i10 Diesel Hands down.Sail Hatchback have lesser waiting period and also has good discounts in this December. So you could check on that too.

Not much discounts for Sail hatchback. OTR comes to 8.45 L with 10k Discount. Grandi10 Asta O Diesel readily available and OTR comes to 7.8 L . I am bit confused between Swift Zxi / Vdi and Grand i10 Diesel / Petrol (if I don't get loan approval for diesel ) with slightly inclined for Swift Zxi for petrol and Grand i10 / Swift Vdi for Diesel.

Go for Zest, only i20 and Zest feel new in this congested market. You don't have budget for i20, so Zest should be default choice in such case.

Swift is way too old, too common, too much safety compromised in Indian version. i10 Grand is segment lower than all in space, its too narrow, strictly a 4 seater.

I like Zest Quadrajet XMS but don't have the budget as I need to stretch a lot for the existing price itself. If the prices increased then it would be impossible for me. Grand i10 or Swift is also a perfect city hatch and good in performance too. I don't want to go for Revotron as of now as it is a new engine,

you told you are a new driver, that doesn't matter, with constant driving you can be better. But i advice you not to learn in hyundai's .New drivers usually tend to keep foot in clutch, hence high chances of clutch getting burnt out within 20-30k.
To learn you can try on Maruti,as parts are comparitively cheaper.
Usual clutch overhaul for maruti costs only 2k while hyundai its on higher side.

You can buy a swift and then add the accesories.
Never be dissappointed by losing certain accessories like bluetooth ,Phone calling ,etc.
multi functional stereo sets-Pioneer,Sony etc(about 20-25k) can be still added in a swift.

I took the test drive of both. I feel grand i10 petrol to be very good and comfortable in city driving. From the ownership reviews I find the swift to be very good in highways. But I feel swift is too much priced as of now. Grand i10 otr comes to 6.73 L and swift zxi comes to 7.43 l.

Yes. It is for top end asta (o). Is the Pure White of grand i10 non metallic ? It seems all other colours have metallic / non metallic options and white is only non metallic. Will there any problem for non metallic white as I personally like white ?

No-one can maintain the White color as it is forever. It gets off-white in due course. Dirt and Scratches look extremely pronounced in White and Black color. Paint touch up of White is difficult too. I would say, go for a Silver color, 8 years of experience with an Esteem speaking!
