Welcoming a New Mahindra Quanto C6 in Black - Ownership Review

I own a C6 and drove the same for last 2.5 months (60 Km per day approx) and had experienced following. Did u also experienced the same:

1. Whenever I cross a speed breaker, there is a vibration in engine/ bonnet and the steering column as if some heavy object moves inside the bonnet.
2. There are squeaking sounds in the rear folding seats every now and then
3. The driver and co passenger seats have started sqeaking sounds in 2 months time.
4. The gear lock rattles the most making very irritating/ disturbing sound.
5. When you turn the steering to extreme while turning, there is some sort of sound.
6. The clutch pedal passes vibrations to the drivers legs
7. The gear knob has started vibrating heavily after a months usage/ drive.
1. Probably that might be due to any loose bolt or joint of the Suspension strut. This is a serious matter & get it thoroughly checked & rectified soon from Mahindra service centre.

2. Fold & re-adjust them once again tightly.

3. This also happens in every 2nd car today, wait for sometime as it's parts/facets take their own sweet time to settle.

5. Yes, exactly. That's the sound that happens in every car with Hydraulic or Electro-hydraulic power steering. I've seen the same in VW Polo also.
It doesn't having any side-effect but the best practice is to never turn the steering fully while the car at standstill position, always try to turn it completely while moving the car too & fro by a bit even while parking.

6,7. Since the car is new, such things do happens, wait for the internal parts to settle in upto first 5-6k kms.
If all above thing still persists then as Mahindra Service centre guys to rectify it.

done the 1st service . Because of the now the vehicle is good in performance

I do face that when i move the vehicle in 3rd gear at 30km/h tat time i feel tat sound . But not that much as you said

in this case check for the bolt and its threads . Even i came to know that . When they removed the seats for mat fit . Then he change that by applyin oil and some adjustments [/QUOTE]

give it mahindra . . Cause never feel like tat . As most of time upto 2nd service given the vehicle to dad only to maintain the vehicle so. After 10k i will take the driver seat .

But Wat i suggest you is maintain the vehicle driving properly .for 1or 2services . Dont cross 80+and dont apply sudden break and not to keep changing the gears . (hope you got this)
Nuthan - Tats a wonderful figure [clap]

Any issues, rattles, squeaks, etc till now?
no dude . Only thing was regarding the suspension before the service . Now its fine .

Congrats for your Quanto c6. What about the low end torque?
its awesome dude . Same as innova and scorpio performance . In terms of pulling . before we use to run the vehicle in 2nd gear . Cause of huge practice in both innova and in scorpio . But when it came to this quanto . The tech people suggested us not to do so as some times . The gear box may lock .but no need to put accelerator in 1st and reverse .

its awesome dude . Same as innova and scorpio performance . In terms of pulling . before we use to run the vehicle in 2nd gear . Cause of huge practice in both innova and in scorpio . But when it came to this quanto . The tech people suggested us not to do so as some times . The gear box may lock .but no need to put accelerator in 1st and reverse .
Hey nuthan great to know you are enjoying your vehicle. I didnt understand your above comments about what the tech people suggested not to do. Can you please explain.

till now we use to put the gear to 2nd at the starting .INSTEAD of 1st in our previous vehicles . But the
tech people told me that not to do that cause for you its got a practice and you know that . If some people start the vehicle and move it in 1st gear means there may be a chances of gearbox lock . But still we move the vehicle in 2nd gear . And use to do the same mistake in marti ritZ and the engine use to gets off

I am sorry , I am still not able to understand what they are trying to say. What I do is put the gear in 1st gear and release it slowly and simultaneously press accelerator to move the vehicle. Is this the same way to use on Quanto or we need to move it to 2nd gear to do it.

Nuthan is trying to explain that for his others cars ( a typical practice followed by taxi drivers in diesel muvs like sumo , bolero , scorpio too , armada, Innova ) he used to slot the second gear and start the vehicle and move it from stationary position , but he is advised and warned by mahindra a.s.s guys not to follow this practice on his quanto as it can cause damage to the engine of the car .

+1 you must move a stationary vehicle from 1st gear only,but first gear being too short yes many will start from second, it is not really a thing to worry about, you must make sure that the engine doesn't get strained.

In commercial vehicles people use 1st gears for inclines only.

It's making a 2k mark, but this vehicle is not the one to set the charts on fire like duster! Ecosport might probably kill the Quanto if priced sensibly.

I am proud owner of C8 Java Brown since 2 weeks. Overall experience so far is good. - -- - Drove 320kms mostly in city.
- Got mileage of around 16kmpl.
- It is able to accommodate 5 adults and 4 kids comfortably!
- Pickup is reasonably good.
- Initially for few kms engine noise is very audible, after driving for sometime it smooths out
- Things I like most are hand-rest, big ORVMs, high seating position

Regarding glitches, for last few days "tick" sound is coming from fan blower section (located below glove box) when igniting the engine. Sound won't come at any other point and no problem with A/C. Hopefully minor problem. Will update once getting it checked. Other than no issues.

Regarding sales performance of Quanto, I think its doing reasonable well considering weak performance of overall auto industry. You should look at Quanto's facebook page for better interaction with Quanto owners.

yes dude . Thats is normal till when you Change it to 3rd gear yes . when you give it for 1st service after that the vehicle become really smooth . And for 1st service we got 17.5km/l as overall . Here is the page check it out Mahindra Quanto. And you will find some owners there

5 adults and 4 kids comfortably ?:eek: Wow can you please explain the age group of kids and what was the seating position ?

Btw congrats for being a proud owner of the car , its a nice practical car with its limitations .
