Hi all Quanto users,

I am planning to upgrade my car. Currently I am proud owner of Santro. As per my requirements Quanto is more suitable.
I have couple of queries on it. Please help me to clear.
1.As per most of the reviews Quanto ride quality is ‘Bumpy ride quality. Unsettled over any type of surface’.
My question is here ride quality is better than santro or not (my driving is mostly on highways).
2.Is it stable on high speeds (over 100kmph to 120kmph).

That's great

It is bumpy, but will be more comfortable than your Santro as you are upgarding it.

My question is here ride quality is better than santro or not (my driving is mostly on highways).

2.Is it stable on high speeds (over 100kmph to 120kmph).
These are not meant for handling purposes, but yes it tends to show some amount of body roll, advised to drive safely as much as possible.

Its not bumpy, its just the body roll of a bigger car.The body roll is more evident with bigger cars.It is the body on frame configuration so you do sit higher. You have to use the side step and getting in is more like stepping up into it.Best thing is to go for a test drive.

The bumpiness if any is only felt on the last row that sits sideways. If you have been in the last row in a Scorpio you will find it to be the same.

The fit and finish of the interiors is good and the engine is refined.I test drove the C8 and it was really good.I did only 100 on it didn't go higher. No handling issues at all(body rolls is present).Overtaking was not a problem.Braking was adequate.

The only problem(for someone who drives as less as I do) is that its only available in Diesel.

after completing 16000kms we are getting 18.5to 19.43kmpl as An overall average mileage .

Here is the mileage details once we refilled for fulltank but got only 48ltrs. In that 48lts we had a journey to davangere and also in local area and even in city limits to and the complete journey for tat 48ltrs the distance covered was 900kms(790+110in reserve)

and 2nd trip from chandapur -whitefield-hoskote(the main route for our mileage drop out .we took almost 1&½ hr to reach hoskote which was around 48 to 50kms) - kanipakam-tirupati-shrikalahasti and we filled the fuel for 2000rs@54.75/l and fuel quantity was 38.5lts and we got around720kms(590+120) . So in an average one can get the mileage of around 18-20km/l

I initaly had an eye on this SUV. I even did test drive this car. But I hated its body roll it was realy bad that I started body ache and my wife with my kid in the second row started screaming asking me not to buy this car. Other than body roll I felt the clutch was very heavy when compared to other SUV and cars

Hi nuthan. I personaly like Xylo very much I have driven Xylo more than my Ertiga. Inspired by Xylo I TD Quanto I was realy dissatisfied. The body roll is too bad. I felt like I am stiing in Tata Sumo in which we usualy feel the body roll. May be Quanto disappointed my expetations. Before buying Ertiga I was about to buy Qiuanto and when the body roll realy mattered to me and my family I thought for going in to Xylo E4 variant. But the Showroom guys was not much intrested to sell Xylo to me insted was asking me to take Quanto. When I TD ertiga oh boy it was gem of a car so smooth and was like driving a sedan. I did like Quanto's space management and the kind of utility it provides but the tall boy was rolling people inside.

Hey Suman,

Quanto is not a bad car. It is a VFM SUV. I would say the engineering of this vehicle should be tuned more for perfection like increasing the tyre size or its profile to reduce the amount of body roll. It has a good riding position and better utility than other SUV on that price.

See the main point here is, many people who have owned well built hatches and sedans will face the problem of body roll because they sit low and in a resting position which makes them to never feel the body of these cars rolling, whereas in the Quanto and many MPV's SUV's you will definitely feel the body roll because they are built taller and the sitting position is chair like way, so when you sit in a chair without hand-rests, you will definitely fold your hands to rest it. Simultaneously people sitting in these hatches and sedans will have doors and perhaps their knees to rest their arm which feels relaxed, which is a main point to be considered. People who have owned MPV's SUV's for a longer period of time wouldn't know the difference.

Ertiga for example feels like you are sitting in a car, while i feel that Evalia and Xylo is better for travelling for i get maximum comfort in the long journeys.

Hi, welcome to TheAutomotiveIndia.com, congrats for your new Quanto, yes Quanto is really not a bad car like others think (think Varun's not here [roll]),
Please do post an ownership review of your car. I'm eagerly awaiting your ownership report.
