Nuthan is trying to explain that for his others cars ( a typical practice followed by taxi drivers in diesel muvs like sumo , bolero , scorpio too , armada, Innova ) he used to slot the second gear and start the vehicle and move it from stationary position , but he is advised and warned by mahindra a.s.s guys not to follow this practice on his quanto as it can cause damage to the engine of the car .
Thanks for clarifying. I am planning to go for quanto but right now taking medicines for Vitamin M [;)]

HI All,

I purchased a Brown quanto C8 3 weeks ago an have clocked 2500 Kms so far.
Had a bunch of minor problems that were rectified very well by Mahindra professionals.
But, I'm facing one major issue and thats the horn. I own a santro too and its too easy to press the horn in santro... just one finger press anywhere around the center and it works well, but in quanto i have to literally push with all my body weight also its not uniform. The lower left is sensitive enough but the rest requires tremendous pressure M&M professionals said thats how the design is and can do nothing about it let me know if any of you face the same issue
Rest all is fine with the vehicle Discovered that the right parking light isnt working looks like a blown bulb have asked the M&M service people to visit my home to investigate, will let u all know when done

Hi awasare2002, welcome to TAI and congrats to your Quanto.
Well it's good to hear that M&M rectified some of your problems.

On the steering and horn issue, yes i too face the same problem when i drive my cousin's scorpio(Scorpio and Quanto shares same steering wheel). Here's how i rectified it: (not sure you might understand, will post the demo when i find time)
So what i suggest is keep your four fingers in between the horn pad and the outer ring, give some pressure with your thumb and the left bottom of your palm you shouldn't find it much difficult.

BTW, please start a separate ownership thread on your Quanto know? It will be nice to hear from you.[:)]

the thing with the scorpio steering wheel is that steering is designed for airbags.

hence whilst pressing for horn , try for the edges along 10 past 10clock.

here the press is easy and consistent.

WELL IN that case i would like to suggest u . If UR using horn for short purpose means just give a small hit for long horn means you can apply through both thE hands
.

the thing with the scorpio steering wheel is that steering is designed for airbags.

hence whilst pressing for horn , try for the edges along 10 past 10clock.

May be vlx is like that wit airbag what about thE rest other models ? ThE design is like that . But thE suggested idea is i always use to hit by applying small pressure :)

^^ So the reviews are coming in a lot.

I am a bit disappointed of the rear step touching the ground and rough plastics used in the car.

HI Vishwas,

Thanks for your suggestions. In fact that is how I have been using the horn on my Quanto.
I'm new to the TAI website, I just dont know how to create a new post / thread. I looked around a lot on the website, but just cannot find any link that shows how to submit a new post.. If you could help would be great,

Regards,
Amit
