Re: Upgraded Volkswagen Polo Coming. Possibly with 1.6 TDi?

Hi Vishnunarayanan,

Lowering the cost of 1.2 HL TDI could be a move to slip in 1.6 TDI at the Older rate of 1.2 HL TDI i.e 7.36 Lacs, We need to wait and see.
I don't think that the 1.6l TDI would make its way into the Polo because it may become too pricey. We expect something different i.e. a new 1.5l TDI.
We can assume only of a late 2013 or 2014 launch of the same as far as reports from various sources are concerned.
Anyway as per reports a Polo petrol AT is soon comming to India.[:)]

Regarding launch of VW Up also there is no official word saying when it is going to come ?[:)] The only expectation is the spotting of various test mules of the Up in different parts of India.

Re: Upgraded Volkswagen Polo Coming. Possibly with 1.6 TDi?

I have recently bought (couple of months) Volkswagen Polo - Comfortline model. It has manual central locking feature but no remote locking. Please suggest which one I can go with. Also per the dealer, VW has not approved any of the aftermarket remote locking solution (like Autocop, Minda, Xenos, Nippon). Please suggest which remote locking solution can be added without cutting wires, so that the warranty is not voided and will it cause any issues later.

TIA

I have rarely come across polo owners of trendline or comfortline variant who have installed aftermarket remote locking. If dealer insists on warranty being void, please don't go for remote lock.
Give me sometime, I will post a link on remote locking done by a polo owner.
And yes, congrats for polo.

Thanks Right Now. I had a talk with one of the accessory shop over here. He suggested to go for Minda Remote Security system. Please suggest if that is good enough. He said he will not be cutting any wires during installation.

Minda remote systems are quite popular and if the dealer says that he won't cut any wires then go for it. Make sure you attend your car while installing the remote locking. Best of luck.

Just buy a universal unit with remote - since polo has manual central locking so it will work, no need to buy whole package.

Re: Upgraded Volkswagen Polo Coming. Possibly with 1.6 TDi?

Hey guys just joined to ask a quick question.

I have booked Polo 1.2 Petrol Highline From VW Downtown Mumbai.

Now the dealer tells me that there is NO Aux In port in the refreshed model.
I went to the showroom and could not find Aux port anywhere on Highline model on display..

Is this true? I might cancel my booking as without Aux In, there is no way to connect my iPhone to the RCD 310 music system.

Please help guys.

Yes, there is no aux slot in new polo. I am not much aware of iphones, but I think you can connect your iphone with usb slot which is provided in the glovebox

I connected iPhone to USB Slot but it does nothing apart from charging my phone.

Is it possible to request for Aux-In port to be fitted at factory at extra cost? Dealership clowns are clueless as usual.

Came to know that Polo will be coming in new avataar to give it SUVish look, similar to Fabia stout. But wonder whether it will indeed click.

You may have to do some research on that, I have a feeling that it should be possible. Keep the cancellation on hold, let me try to talk to my dealer and see if he has some solution to it.
