they are givign IDV of 4.8 lacs
yes they have cashless claims at 1000+ garages

their qoute is 8.2k

Next minimum is 11.5 from ergo

Hope the IDV is not too low, I think 1 year old Dzire should have more IDV.

Does this 1000+ garages include some MASS in your city also. Do check that.

I have not dealt with Reliance or haven't heard anyone doing so, maybe others can comment.

Last yr IDV was 5.9 lacs. They are doing 20% depreciation

Ok, the normal practice is 10% depreciation per year , max 15%. Maybe you ask them to re quote with IDV of around 5.2-5.3 lacs.

I got my i10 on the other day, but the insurance says number of seats including driver - 4. Surely this should be 5. My santro was five.

Please could other i10 Magna owners confirm this.

As the insurance was free maybe there is a mistake some where.

not got it yet, but as RC book is based on insurance certificate it will probably say 4

RC Book should be based on Form 20/22 not insurance. Please check with dealer. Insurance should be as per RC Book.

A query on insurance renewal.

My renewal is due in Sep 13. Got a call from HDFC Ergo that they would give a special discount if I book the renewal with them now(PDC for Sep 13 is OK). Checked with other companies their quote is quite low for same IDV.

My questions for experts to answer-

1. Has HDFC Ergo has cashless tie up with TATA Motors?
2. Any positives/negatives for claim via HDFC Ergo?

A query on NCB (no claim bonus) transfer ...

I'll be purchasing a new car and selling off my old car next month. My old car is registered and insured in my wife's name. But the new car needs to be in my name.

1. Can I transfer old car's NCB to my new car ?

2. What if we decide to keep the old car as a backup. Can I still transfer the NCB to the new car ?

Its not question of old car to new car, you cannot transfer NCB from your wife's name to your name. Even it is not possible from father to son.

Hi guys,

this is a copy of my policy, according to this how much do I have to pay if I have an accident.

The premium (total) is about Rs6k, this seems low as I was paying about Rs2800 for my 13 year old santro.

The premium seems to be correct. You need to pay Rs 1000/- extra(compulsory deductible) when you make a claim apart from the charges for depreciation of parts.

What is the IDV, check it should be 95% of Ex-showroom price(excluding any discounts).

You are right the IDV is 95% of Ex-showroom price(excluding any discounts). Thankyou for replying, I was just concerned as the fully comp premium for my 13 year old santro was about Rs2800 and this is only slightly more.
