If we compare the current m-hawk Scorpio with Storme on flat out performance parameter, then which SUV do you think is more superior and more fun to drive on highways? Also if compared with Aria 4X4 how's Storme's(4x2) acceleration(you have already stated that XUV and Aria 4x2 is quicker)?
Well Xovy buddy, being honest to myself and as per my own experience, now let me try to pen down my take on the said vehicles.
Your first question is:
If we compare the current m-hawk Scorpio with Storme on flat out performance parameter, then which SUV do you think is more superior and more fun to drive on highways?
First of all, in my views there is a lot of difference between flat-out performance and fun to drive factor, and hence I'l answer this question by breaking it into parts.
- Flat out performance: I don't know any numbers(what magazines say) but it's the Scorpio which feels quicker here, in fact I guess Scorpio is really quicker. The reasons are simple, a wider powerband coupled to a gearbox with near perfect-set ratios. Scorpio feels more peppier as well as more responsive too throughout the powerband.
- Which is more superior? Depends, Scorpio offers a fantastic sense of urgency and Storme offers a very relaxed and cruising friendly power delivery. But yes, in my opinion(subjective) as an overall product Storme feels more grown up and modern SUV as compared to the Scorpy. Considering my personal likes and dislikes, I'd like to have the power delivery of Scorpio in a Storme and if asked fro one then it's Storme, Scorpio feels dated in front of it at least.
- Fun to drive on highways: No explanation required nothing..STORME, the only problem with Scorpio is high speed ride and the fact that due to a shorter wheelbase and suspension setup, the Scorpio is never settled at speeds, there is always some suspension movement which just takes away the highway speed fun-to-drive factor.
Your second question is:
Also if compared with Aria 4X4 how's Storme's(4x2) acceleration(you have already stated that XUV and Aria 4x2 is quicker)?
Well, this is a really tough question and I guess I need to apply a lot of stress on my brain to answer it. First of all the last time I drove Aria 4X4 was when I TDed it when I was out to buy a car. Still let me try to recall it now, so kindly tolerate slight mistakes(in terms of Aria 4X4) if they happen.
First of all let's leave XUV as the performance of XUV is hidden to none, so better we leave the XUV.
Aria 4X2 is the Aria with reduced weight and better acceleration, in fact Aria 4X2 feels at par with XUV in terms of performance, especially the flat out.
Coming to Aria 4X4, I guess Storme and Aria 4X4 have slightly identical performance. Storme also lacks the feeling of urgency and same is with Aria 4X4, both the vehicles feel to be relaxed cruisers. Simple it is, I find the acceleration quite identical but one thing for sure,
Storme's acceleration is nowhere as high that it will eclipse Aria 4X4. Rest I guess any Aria 4X4 owner can give us the perfect review here.
WHY NOT CALL FOR TORNADO78(not sure of exact handle) FOR THIS QUESTION? HE OWNS AN ARIA 4X4 AND HE HAS TDed A STORME TOO.
