A friend told me a guy in a Xylo rear ended his stationary Swift at a signal after he was at the signal for a good few secs,
then the Xylo fellow threatens my friend saying try taking what you want from me,you cant do anything or even police station etc etc, well thats India for you.

I guess most hot blooded people would have broken the Xylo fellows windshield or his skull.

But i guess the smart thing to do is call police control room & inform that a person has rear ended your car & is threatening you. What do my fellow members have to say about this?

came across this a long back on facebook. Saw it again yesterday. So thought of sharing it!
IMHO, this deserves to be here.
The police is so bored of that guy's stunts![lol]

There are goons everywhere. I would have definitely called the police, if he didn't budge after a round of arguments.

No fear / respect towards law is the most pathetic part of our Independent India and as a common man, no body has any say !!!!

Its quite common in India. Similar thing, happened to my cousin too. He didn't argue, he just went off from there & repaired his left doors at his own cost. [anger]

That might end up in screwing himself if the Xylo guy belongs to some local gangsters or gundas! [frustration]

IMO, its of no use. The police guy too might take support of the Xylo guy once the police comes to see him! Or else, the Xylo guy might call some top ranked officials in police! [frustration]

Ya i too follow the same thing my swift had met with an accident when my friend was driving it,it was night & the two wheeler fellow who rammed was shifting from one lie to another & lot of idiots were gathering around! My friend called the cops but they took alot of time to arrive although its Richmond circle(which many Bangaloreans know is center hub of the city),but once the cops came not a single person was around.Guess its better to call cops to bring some peace in.

Reminds me of a guy i saw,my friend is pretty well informed & he told me that the wealthy goon we saw has literally rammed many cars/2 wheelers while being drunk & seriously injured many people. All he does is say in the case that the driver was driving the car & driver is absconding. In some cases where trouble was more from the victims he paid the bills & some extras.
And think about abroad where if one was drunk & driving dangerously he would be in jail for a week, but even if they impose a week jail here am sure the will create a proxy attendance .

Ya it could be possible that the guy was politically related as the area where the accident happened is near the political hub,but the police commissioners office was down the road so i feel my friend should have been a bit more brave,he is a humble fellow who bought the swift as a second hand,i dont think his insurance will be covering enough.

But speaking about gundas yesterday after i posted the previous comment my friend called me explaining why he could not meet me, it turned out his friend was surrounded by auto drivers/rowdys at a cheap area cos the drunk auto fellow nudged the guys Verna & although it was Auto fellows fault completely ,can you guess how much he was demanding for a bottle cap size dent. He threatened the fellow & demanded nothing less than 30,000 rupees.
So my friend (along with a few others ) had to go & get a local politician cos as more time went by for my friends to reach more goons were joining in & asking the fellow to ask more money(i am guessing all the guys wanted there share for standing there). Law & order does not seem to apply to people who have nothing to loose.

Exactly! One just cant argue with such people. Once my friend's car was rear ended by a taxi or a tempo. When my friend got little aggressive on the driver, he was like - ''Boss, I dont own this vehicle and I have no money to pay you. I will leave this vehicle with you and go. You do what ever you want with the vehicle and contact the owner'' [frustration]

I do not know whether this has already been discussed in this thread earlier or not.

Is it legal to drive tractors in Bangalore or for that matter any metro city. I see lots of tractors here, none of them are registered with Bangalore RTOs (KA01 to KA05 and others). Most of them are AP , some TN and rest other rural parts of KA.

These moron drive taking the full road to their benefit, carrying water tanks, or dumpers as carriage. They do not have any headlamp or tail lamp,no rear view mirrors, do not bother to give any hand signals and travel at utmost slow speeds on busiest roads.Majority of these I heard are owned by people having political connections.

I would be glad if some one can throw more light on above.

Thanks,
Anshuman

Well there are no restrictions on Indian roads, you can do anything & everything. Did you guys forget the rape incident on 16 December in Delhi? No one cares about police and other commuters and the police is also not interested in doing their duty (the CHALTA HAI Attitude).

Don't ever say that.

If everyone keeps on tolerating such incidence, these goons will never hesitate to overpower a common man. Argue for your case honestly and raise your voice a bit. If nothing at all, you will feel good about it, and the goon will tend to think twice before arguing with common man again. Believe me it works, has worked for me.

^^ @ Rightnow, I agree. This is my take too. But it really gets tricky when you are with your family. I faced such a situation once. While arguing with a Innova guy who had literally blocked the entrance to my house lane due to his stupid way of parking. After bit of argument, he along with couple of others literally came to thrash and smash my car. My wife was along side me and she urged that we move out of that place. After that incident for many days cursed myself because the incident disturbed my wife a lot [cry]

According to me one should not involve in to a brawl if family (specially with females). You might be fighting for your right but if you are unlucky then you might end up in a big problem. I can give you an example: One of my known person was travelling with his mother and younger sister in his Santro, some from behind (in a bike) banged their car, so naturally driver from Santro came out and asked for the compensation of the loss, now the biker (who was a local from that area) called other people and started fighting with the Santro Driver. Meanwhile his mother & sister came in between to rescue her son but these goons did not spare the females and behaved very badly infact someone also snatched the gold chain from her (mother). So there was no fault of Santro's driver but he lost a lot. He was literally helpless at that time when the goons were harrasing her mother and sister (i think you know what i am saying). Till date that person is living in a guilt he still says that he should not have come out of the car. So it's not about bravery or cowardness but situation matters a lot.

Guys we rarely see these things too,

*We see Policemen/common man helping a blind to cross a road

*we see people helping by pushing a cycle guy with two rice sack on his carrier.

*we see people helping a kitten to get out of the road to a safer place.

*we see people helping strangers with the right direction to their destination.

*we see people helping a breakdown car pushed away from the traffic other than honking from behind.

*we see people helping lady drivers to change a punctured tyre to a spare wheel.

*we see people stopping the car allowing the senior citizens to cross the road.

*we see people warning about an open door to the fellow car drivers after chasing a long distance

*we see people giving warning of the engaged side stand to the bikers.

*we see people warning about the unwanted indicators engaged.

*we see people warning abut the tyre pressure.

*we see people warning of the police checking ahead.

*we see people warning of the closed road ahead.

*we see people giving way to an ambulance or a fire engine in an emergency.

*we see people helping people on accidents, sparing their own car to rush to the hospital and even donating blood.

In short we see these things too Brothers,
Let good beat the evil.

That is stupid. Why would anyone do that? First, warn the criminals about police. Then complain about police not doing anything against criminals. Hats Off, India.[clap]
Know what happens at some police check posts they rob the poor truck drivers for any reason.
These warnings may sometime help these poor drivers.
This too happens on our roads bro.
