Re: The Mighty Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Drives In [11K Kms Crossed]

Since last few days I had been a confused deciding what shall replace by BMW 320D. PS was never even under consideration. I was seeking help, finding reviews online when I came across this thread.

My confusion is almost over and I am about to go for a new limited edition PS. I just wanted to start my journey on TAI by conveying my heartfelt sincere thanks to the likes of Anshuman (whose thread on another forum diverted me here) Chetak and all others and especially India Rocks for such amazing information that they have all collated here. I read through every single comment from the start on this thread...and well I must say - it was tiring but fabulous read!

If it does not bend the rules of this forum, you may check out my process of going for the PS here

Thanks again and hope to be here.

Hi guys, my first post here. Fascinating thread this. A quick q for all the experts here. When is the PS AT due? Dealers say November, nothing confirmed. Also is this going to be 4x2 or4x4? Thanks much in advance!
A very warm welcome to TAI firstly, glad to hear you are awaiting the AT option, i can confirm its been assembled at the plant as we speak.[:D]

It will be a 4x2 AT to start with (which i think is a bummer personally!) , may be there is a market for it, given that we saw that with the Fortuner as well. But i hope they follow it up with a 4x4 AT soon.

Wow internet forums made you choose a PS over a BMW sedan - that needs some taking ha ha !

A very warm welcome to TAI, we look forward to an ownership review shortly. Please post some photos of your beastie.

On a completely separate note, the IR family got a new addition and for a change there was no debate whatsoever on the selection - there was only one real option.

here is a sneak peek!

Welcome to TAI. Pajero Sports is a very good vehicle. At times, I drive my co-brother's PS AT. I have posted pics of that vehicle in this forum. Advance wishes. Open a new thread on your buying experiences.

The color combination is super. This combination is my favorite.

I am hijacking IR Thread. Found the below guy at Toyota service center, Kalammaserry, Ernakulam, Kerala. Some are trying dual color on Fortuners too.

Thats such a shame. I guess if they throw in all the bells and whistles it will still be worth the wait. Even without 4x4 it wouldnt be too bad an offroad vehicle would it?

If there is an automatic tranny, then better it is a 4X2.
Having a good 4X4 with low ratio box and all such stuff with an automatic gearbox sounds weird and will drive even more weird[frustration]
After all, the true joy of off roading is in manual mode(Paddle shifters will also work BTW)[drive][angel]

why thank you sir!
No performance upgrades planned for the Bolero truck [lol]

Well just because its a Pajero i dont want to discount out a 4x2 version, there are many buyers who would want a Pajero or Fortuner but never really take it off-road - Its a matter of personal choice and i will respect their choice.

Personally if you are looking to off-road, 4x4 any day is my recommendation - that too the manual version which has 50+ NM of peak torque compared to the autobox. Yes I do hope though Mitsu comes with the 4x4 AT too shortly.

On a separate note, I upgraded the Mitsu headlamps, I recently picked up the highest lumen Sylvania lamps from the US, replaced the bulbs and the difference is very apparent. HIDs were an option, but i ain't jumping to that bandwagon as yet.

Here is the pic of what I got :-

Also bought a tow rope rated at 7 tons, this one is looped at the ends and has no metal hook whatsoever - that's what i was looking for,
Next accessory will be a high lift jack [:)]

No performance upgrades planned for the Bolero truck

Sorry for being out of this thread for a while. Yes the registration formalities have been completed [clap]. Did not get time for a photo shoot of my PS [roll] Will do that as soon as I am free. As for the ownership thread, I think I will take some time. Am still getting the feel of it.
But boss I am really enjoying the drive. 100kmph is nothing for this beast. At one point I thought that the Speedo is giving me wrong reading. But later confirmed through the GPS and it was indeed true!
All of a sudden my city has become very small. It takes me anywhere in no time. I feel like making multiple trips to the same place again and again without getting bored. Need to plan a highway trip (around 1000kms) soon followed by an off-road one [evil].

Not yet not really, will be slow and steady, i have seen and known enough fools to not be one myself (or so i hope!) , also i am solo player [;)], but there is a plan and i am waiting for it to come true!

Babaji please treat us with photos and in the meantime will await your ownership review.

Meanwhile here is my latest tankful reading from the MID, the tankful method came up to 12.4kmpl actually. The few tips I give to Mitsu owners and if someone else is hell bent to make it look efficient (like me) - drive under 85kmph on highways, switch off the AC, third gear under 40kmph is good for cities (dont kill me guys, i am just stating hard facts! [lol])
