I need some real help now. Looking for a decent upgrade from 1100D. Budget 30K.
Won't be spending on lens much (probably will be using the stock lens only).
How much will I get for my 1100D? Condition 8/10. Autofocus not working (lens problem, can be fixed for very less I guess).

you can check the new 1200D or 600D both of these comes in 30K range. are you planning to buy only the body and use the old lens or you looking for one with Kit lens?

1. Bought a new ultra wide angle lens a couple of days ago.
Sigma 10-20 mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM [made in Japan]

LINK
Excellent built and AF is significantly fast and butter smooth. I was contemplating on getting the Tokina 11-16 mm f/2.8 II, but went with Sigma for the 1mm advantage.
Note: The Nikon version of Sigma 10-20 doesn’t have an AF/MF flip button = can’t change from AF to MF on the lens. Needs to change the setting on the Camera body/Menu for the swap. Got one UV and CPL filter [77mm] from Kenko.

2. Also bought a quality Battery Grip for my Nikon Body.
LINK
It’s built to last with top notch fit and finish and the quality of material used. The Camera feels better in hand now, but very heavy. The Grip can accommodate two EN-EL14 Lithium batteries and six AA2700mAh batteries in two separate compartments [to be used separately] it came with. With an IR remote for shutter release, long exposure night shots should be more fun.

3. Also ordered CRI 95+ LED Ring Flash for Macros and also as external flash. Should arrive on Monday. The only deterrent while shooting macros with my extension tube + 50mm has been the light rather the lack of it.
LINK

Total damage : Close to INR 40,000 equivalent [30k for lens +filters only]

I'm also looking for wide angle lens. But now i realise that the lens price is equal to my camera (600D).

For me investing in quality lenses make more sense, unless you are upgrading to a full-frame.

For you, Canon has officially announced a couple of ultra-wide angle lenses a couple of days ago, which includes a VFM 10-18mm f/4-5.6 AF with image stabilizer. It should be available in June for about Rs. 15,000 - 18,000 range.

full frame not now.
i already have 18-55mm Kit lens , so 10-18mm is ideal for me. but when we see the aperture its f/4.5. that is the downside. i guess this 10mm will produce fish eye effect.

any one tried magic latern custom firmware in canon?

Only while shooting in low lights and to get a different Depth Of Field perspective. I bought the ultra wide angle for Landscapes, thus the DOP isn’t a big factor there. You can use a Tripod in tricky low light scenarios as well.
Faster the aperture, more ridiculously expensive the lens gets. Having said that, a f 2.8 is any day better than a f 4 or f 5.6 in low lights.

i guess this 10mm will produce fish eye effect.
I don't think, unless Canon says so.

The LED Ring flash arrived and everything is working fine. There is also a battery charger with 4 AA rechargeable batteries.

Had a quick test and light was found enough. A detailed shoot is due this weekend, if weather permits.[:)]
