Re: DSLR - How To Make Your Photos Stand Out.

27500 and 37500 are the best price I have seen online for D3200 with 18-55 & 18-105 respectively.(two weeks back)
Warranty is two year Nikon India warranty. Look for that while purchasing online.

All the best for purchase

Edios,
As mentioned, any SLR should do good if you know how to get the best photo out of it.
Why suggested canon or nikon are because of the availability of lens/accessories/service etc. 18-105 is much better than 18-55 as stock lens.

Sony also competing in DSLR. Saw some great reviews about few of their cameras at dpreview. Not used any sony DSLR than my point n shoot dsc-wx1.

Re: DSLR - How To Make Your Photos Stand Out.

What about Sony SLT-A58K SLR with SAL 18-55mm Kit Lens - Buy DSLR @ Snapdeal.com and Canon EOS 600D SLR (Kit 18-55mm IS) - Buy DSLR @ Snapdeal.com ?

Can anyone tell me why you are not suggesting these models? Especially the Sony one?

Also, which one will take better images? Sony CyberShot DSC RX100 20.2MP Point & Shoot Digital Camera (Black) - Buy @ Snapdeal.com or any DSLR in that range?
Hi edios,

I am currently using the canon 550d (t2i). Canon 600D (t3i) is the successor. From what I hear from the expert reviews, the performance and image quality are the same between 550d and 600d. So 600D is really good. But Nikon D3200 looks to be better in terms of image quality (again based on the expert reviews, not my personal opinion). But Nikon D3200 costs more than 600D. So it should be your choice now. But from my experience Canon 600d will not let you down.

Okay but why are those Point&Shoots so costly?

Okay but why are those Point&Shoots so costly?

1"-type Exmor CMOS sensor (13.2 x 8.8mm, 3:2 aspect ratio)
20.2 million effective pixels
28-100mm (equiv), f/1.8-4.9 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens
Steady-Shot image stabilization
ISO 125-6400 (ISO 80 and 100 expansion, up to 25,600 using multi-frame noise-reduction)
Face Recognition and Face Registration (up to 8 faces)
Rear control dial and customizable front control ring
10fps continuous shooting in 'Speed Priority' mode
3" 1.2M-dot 'WhiteMagic' LCD screen
13 Picture Effects (27 with variations)
Memory Recall feature can store up to three groups of custom settings
1080p60 video, (AVCHD) with MP4 option (50p in PAL regions)
Built-in stereo microphones
330-shot battery life (CIPA)

The RX100 is probably the most capable compact camera on the market today, combining the image quality benefits of a mid-sized sensor with the proportions of a conventional compact. Extensive, though not flawless, manual controls make the RX100 a great second camera for DSLR shooters.
1" CMOS Sensor /20-100mm/F1.8/FullHP recording/StereoMic/USB Charging/10framePerSecond etc makes it pricey. It fits in your pocket and you get a very good image (even at low light).
CMOS sensors are normally costlier than CCDs.

There is a image comparison on 12th page of review there. Check with basic DSLRs and this. You will be surprised :)

Thank you!
I find the RX100 to be slightly better than my 1100D. Which do you think is better in all terms?

Thank you 350Z for moving the post to the right thread. I didnt know there was a thread like this existed. I felt really bad being off topic in another thread. Thanks to who ever reported :)

@edios
If you can carry a DSLR, then i still suggest 1100 :) . You can change lens and get even better pic than RX100 .
They say ', though not flawless, manual controls make the RX100 a great second camera for DSLR shooters'. That means, DSLR is always first :) (Or atleast be happy reading that)[lol]

- Lens cleaner - I haven't used one yet... after using the camera for more than 2 years.
- Tripod - haven't used it for any photo yet...
- Lens cover/cap - comes free with the lens and are very useful.
- 4 GB & 8 GB memory card - I would strongly suggest 16 Gb or more high speed cards - more than class 10
- carry case - usually free with the camera.

I too got my camera online. Better deals online.

@edios,
You will be sad hearing the answer :) ! Technically , with the configuration, yes - It is better than 1100D. But, you never know. How good it can be if you have a creative thinking and know how to get the best results.

By the way,
I got a doubt.
Will there be any quality/clarity difference between With VR & Without VR ? Other than the vibration reduction. Wanted to know from guys who have used it. Google search says there is a difference . Anybody experienced ?
