filled up diesel. the new mileage is 17kmpl.the roads in my area has broken down as the monsoon is very heavy. most of the riding is in 1, 2 & 3 rd gears. the lower part of the body has several spots of tar . while servicing they first wash of the tar with diesel. ( from my previous experiences ) will it in any way damage the paint work ? from morning till 3.50 pm my car sits out in the rain as there are no enough car sheds in my place of work.hope it will not cause any rusting.

I love Vento for its FE , when i drive my friend's Vento maintaining a constant 80-90kmph i get 22kmpl in the MID! That is pretty commendable for a car that is well built and not plasticky like my Verna. Yes i think Polo and Vento come with anti-rust coating from factory itself. Modern cars are much better when it comes to rusting but still maximum try to park your car in shade for a healthy longer run.

alas getting my car in shade too is very difficult as there is a mad rush for the shades too. its the early bird who gets the choicest of shades.cooldhaya most of the cars in this segment weighs around 1200kgs , correct me if iam wrong, so will there be a difference in their build quality ?i mean the sheet metal part.

Oh yes just checked the weight of all the cars in this segment and they weigh almost the same! But yeah difference in build quality will be vastly visible when you check out the car in person. IMO Vento and Linea the most solid cars in this segment , then comes ANHC and Verna and the last is SX4.

kannur is getting horrible day by day . driving is no more but crawling on moon surface is what is happening here.

always keep a close eye on seeping area sink hole under rubber beadings etc.

be extremely cautious with those damn potholes on road i got my tire cut from somewhere .now worried for a puncture or a burst.

completed 7000 kms today.driving has become restricted to office alone, due the horrible conditon of the roads. two weeks back went to calicut in train. the return trip was in a xylo which my brother in law had rented for a month. had the chance to drive it to kannur from calicut.the road condition is so very pathetic that it took me more than 4 hours to cover the distance.waiting eagerly for the monsoon to cease so that the roads get repaired.

bought the extended warranty for my baby today at INR 11200/.the roads are still washed out. unable to bring baby home, keeping it parked at my pals home about 2km from mine.missing my routine exercise of washing and cleaning my baby, which has been taken over by my enthusiastic pal. thanks to him baby looks clean as new.using my pals 3year old alto to commute to my home.

It seems rain has subsided a bit . and we are having a pleasant climate. what say,now the roads need to be reshaped.

BTW, i heard VW is opening showroom and service centre in Kannur.

checked the tyre pressure today. i had filled nitrogen in all 4 tyres 2 months ago and today the pressure is the same as i had filled 2months ago. i had been a sceptic regarding filling nitrogen but guys it true- it stays longer in the tyres.
