Another 10 days to go. Countdown begins [;)][:)]
Even I will be keenly watching this. If it impresses me like most other Honda's have done, I will add it to our Honda Family. I'll even wait for Jazz incase I dont need boot and longer car. With new efficient diesel engine, refined petrol engine, head turning design, Honda badge & reliability, it's going to be instant hit.

Bookings have already started across country, so anyone who prefers to book car early might book one now. I enquired with local dealer, they said they already have 8 bookings. Lets wait for November 25, it'll make headlines in the Newspaper along with 5th anniversary of 26/11.

Re: The 2014 Honda City

Guys just booked the Honda city diesel , booking amount is 51K , the showroom guys at Dream Honda Surat have no clue about the car but they have started taking pre launch bookings. They said that the amount is fully refundable. Going by how the amaze is doing I am hoping for a cracker of a car. Waiting for the launch.

Re: The 2014 Honda City

I have my own apprehensions about 25th being the launch date, as there have been no sightings of the test-mule or any such scoop!

They might be showcasing it just to get early response on the new product.

Still, the pre-launch bookings do hint for some surprises that might come on 25th!

Siddharth from CNB show had confirmed that Honda City launch date will be 25th Nov 2013.

Honda originally planned to launch new City in Jan '14 but advanced launch to Nov 25 as old City stocks exhausted faster than anticipated

Each Honda City model has been more revolutionary than previous one. But next-gen model more of an evolution am told. Will know on Nov 25

Re: The 2014 Honda City

Evolutionary is good news for me. The current arrow shot design is actually great - I don't mind if Honda continues with 90% of it for the shell. They might just change the grille, front airdams and alloy wheels to match the new Jazz/Fit.

Some interior features I think are a must not only to compete with rivals, but to differentiate with Amaze :
1. Climate Control in S/MT
2. Bluetooth phone+audio support in non-AVN trims too
3. Steering mounted bluetooth controls in S/MT
4. Keyless entry/push-button start in V/MT

Features I hope they will provide:
1. A six airbag version for V/MT - I'll pay extra to get the safest trim, even if I abhor the extra chrome ;-)
2. Pinch guard for rear windows too - the rear windows, where children sit, really needs this feature more than the driver window, where the current City provides it
3. Tilt and telescope adjust for steering - the City has become increasingly popular as a self-driven vehicle, as it becomes more affordable for Indian middle class, and the chauffeur driven types moving to more expensive D+ segment vehicles. Therefore, good driver ergonomics are a must.

Thanks Bopanna, you summed up everything nicely! Hope Honda sees this post, Oops..Its too late [frustration]
But I think Honda knows it better, all the things you mentioned now are a basic requirements these days in the given price range, whether people actually use it or not.
In addition to the above I hope the size of the vehicle does not grow too much as reported on the web. Already City is longer car, additional inches would make it not a City friendly. For me the Verna size looks very good and very maneuverable in the city traffic. But being global model I don't know how much we can expect here. Also would like to see better GC, that is the need of the hour! Windows roll down by the remote will be a nice touch very handy in the place where I live. Lets see if my third Honda is a reality or not.

Re: The 2014 Honda City

@Indian Announcment of CR-U will be icing on cake... Honda will get booming response, people are fed up of waiting for Ecosport delivery and Duster is bit over priced however both are doing good sales. The 3rd player in SUV segment will be welcome option and will draw good booking. Ofcourse 3 major players do not have any presence in compact/low budget SUV segment and they are Honda, Maruti & Hyundai. People are eagerly waiting for their offerings.

I dont see a solid wing face logo on the grill (or is it there?). But they have space to get it planted on the grill. May be a test mule[glasses]
Ajay, thanks for the pics. [clap]

If that is going to be our new City, I am sold [glasses]
The back is one of the best designs I have seen. Definitely its bigger inside and smaller from outside kind of a design. I see the Honda badge on the bonnet but there is clearly perfectly shaped space available for new Honda design "Solid Wing Face". With the fog lamps and projector headlights it should be stunner. Hope my wish come true.

Re: The 2014 Honda City

Looking at the pics posted the size of the car is way to big to be a Honda City it is almost bigger than the Civic . And in all possible cases it is Honda Crider for other markets with a face lift.

I believe the New City would be bigger, now that Amaze is in, and Civic is out.

So, definitely, Honda is looking for a premium sedan with the New City. [clap]
