Hai all,
My idtech completed 30,000 kms and took it for service and to change the fuel pipe line as a part of the city recall. Total bill came to 5256/- Which included 855/- for AC disinfection. Didn't get the wheel balancing and alignment done from the service centre . The 20,000/- km service bill had come to 6,300/-. A part of the chrome strip behind the wiper controls started to come off. It was also fixed during the service. So that's it about the service update.

Last week my Honda City VXMT got its 4th service i.e 1st paid and the amount paid was Rs. 3620/- only. No alignments, wheel balancing was done as my SA claims the car had a severe damage on the sub frame which has to be changed as soon as possible else the tires on the front will wear out faster and according to him wheel alignment and balancing would be waste of money if the sub frame is damaged.
He quoted the price for the new sub frame approx 6000.

That's strange why the SA is insisting to change the sub frame .Did your car meet with any accident or any underbody damages? If so please do get the damaged parts replaces at first place.

No the car hasn't met any accident till date except some 3-4 minor scrapes to the underbody but isn't the sub frame is built strong to bear such minor scrapes.

Suggest you take it to any other service centre and to check whether there is really a problem.

While i am still looking for answers on my post#1800 above, i am throwing a new challenge for you.
While on road trip from Punjab to Kerala, front left alloy of my city has been found cracked(presumably hitting some of the oversize speed brakers on the way at high speed-which i did).Tyre was also damaged.
Where can i get the new original alloy in kochi? I will try at local dealership tomorrow but still would like to know some other after market source-may be a used part market or scrap dealer?What will be tentative price for a Honda original?Running on rear black rim as of now.
Meanwhile, leaving one of the memory of Munnar trip taken today.

Requesting immediate help, specially from Kerala friends, as i need to get home safe & sound back to Punjab.

I am not that well acquainted with kochi. But still hope the following is of some use. You can try the vytilla bypass Road for the alloy s. Two major Honda showroom s are also in that same stretch . Also ask for global tyres which is again in the vytilla region.

Its better to go to ASC and source a new alloy. I remember seeing the cost of a alloy around 8000 in ASC(not exactly sure but the rate is somewhere around 8000) and they had ready stock of the alloy wheels..

Hello experts,

I recently bought Honda City (V) model 2 weeks back. Although the car is driving fine, but i noticed that certain times there is a screeching sound that comes from front DRIVER side tyre when brakes are applied. The sound is not regular but comes only intermittently and its loud enough to disturb me as a driver. The sound originally came just after 2 days I got the car.

The vehicle was checked by the Honda workshop but they don't seem to know real problem. The problem was also reproduced when Honda workshop person checked although it was reproduced only once in front of them. They just removed brake shoes and I believe did some greasing and that's it.....but the problem still persists.

I guess this may be part of cars niggles which users are noticing these days in HONDA cars. Planning to get the car re-checked. Any pointers from you will be most welcome.

Also in case anyone experienced similar issues, please help me with your inputs....

Did you heard a grinding noise while braking?? Also the screeching sound will some times appear during startup of the car(usually in mornings or if the car is parked for a long time). So this too may be the case. Because dust may get accumulated between the brake rotors and the pads.

There is no Grinding noise heard but only screeching sound. The HONDA workshop team once again removed break shoes and did normal greasing/oiling process over this weekend. Will check again if there is any improvement or the intermittent noise persists in future. Hope the problem gets resolved this time

As usual, I am banking upon yourselves to solve/advise related mystery regarding my Honda City V I-Dtec model Jan2015

Problem-Cruise control getting disengaged when I press "resume" button.I have checked multiple times,i am not accidentally hitting any of the installed disengaging parameters(like C & B pedal or changing gears etc).Problem was reported at local dealership & they also acknowledged the same( though after test driving their own demo car!)

Solution-As per them, this was the very 1st instance encountered/reported.Had OBD done with no error report.Battery connections were disconnected &reconnected.Some other software checked/reloaded.
Outcome-Went for a test drive on highway.Everything was okay & i was satisfied thinking that this could be a case of software/electrical malfunction & has been solved by deactivating electrical/software update etc.
Now-Was travelling from Chd Jpr.Problem has resurfaced again,Distance traveled between above successful test drive & toady's failure approx 40 kms.

Pls help me.

Update-ECM has been changed but the problem still persists.

Hi Friends

Recently I rented a Honda City iDtec for my vacation and drove for about 1000+ Kms. Car was amazing in all departments except engine noise.

One more thing I have noticed was, when driven at 110+ KMPH car starts to vibrate and I could feel the vibration in steering, seats (i feel whole car). Can someone tell me why is it happening only in high speeds. I was annoyed to take it above 100 and maintained a speed within 100 KMPH. Car handles very well when driven within 100.

Cold air pressure was set at 35 psi all around and do not see any air loss in tires. (on the doors its mentioned as 35 at front and 32 at rear), vibration issue happens with this settings as well.

I may be planning to take it for rental again and bothered about this vibration issue.
