I think on choosing the A118, you'll miss a better screen. While on the other side, its much lighter, and a bit slimmer.

apart from the battery, camera and physical dimensions, i could not find much difference thou both have 5" screen

no idea, android by birth has been sluggish, there is no denying that. thats why i keep saying 1gb ram is a must if you wanna enjoy android. android has evolved with each passing day and now with JB it has reached a stage where its much more fine tuned than before. battery issues and all have been addressed in the current handsets. its looking all positive for android with v KLP.

but then each manufacturer adds its skins and bloatware and what not. the level of customisation you get to do with android is not possible in any other os. the ease with which you can transfer movies, pics, songs etc is as easy as warming a pizza in the microwave.

the reason i chose an android tablet was coz of the ease in operating it. i could easily have gone for IOS or W8 but then you buy slavery with these companies. with android you are the king.

With windows 8 tablets ( rt you can't watch all movie types , though there are many apps now , by the time 8.1 will come maybe they will solve that and vlc will be comming any time now on rt ) , there is no problem in moving , shifting and playing movies buddy infact it is as easy as drinking water
Don't forget you can use millions of mainstream apps .

iOS yes you can't , but then the user experience is just best in class . When I meet you in Delhi I will bring my 2 and half year old iPad 2 with dual core processor and yes just 512 mb ram and you use it . It is faster and fluid then quad core and 2 gb ram android phones and tablets .

My friends have asus android tablet the infinity one and galaxy tab , and belive me it slutters and lags badly compared to a surface and iPad .

And if we talk about apps well android tablets can't even come close to apps in iOS . Android has how many tablet specefic apps ? Compare that with iOS you will see the result .

^^ if it is for a gift i think you can gift em a nokia 520 or 620 for around 11.7k.(tradus with DESIM10 coupon)

unless the beneficiary is android fanboi, even a micromax canvas 2 plus too lies in the same price band now
