Keep an eye on superdeals.homeshop18.com for a price drop. They kept on bringing tablet deals (or 20% off on tablet coupon even if it is not there on superdeals)

8960 was the lowest for Byond Mi-Book Mi8 Tablet @ hs18

Out of curiosity, why you are not considering Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 ? It is around 13000. But, it wont die like other tablets. Once you touch some app, it wont open some other application ! Do not just get carried over by 2GB RAM and 6000mah battery etc. 15K is the flipkart price. You should get much lesser than that for sure !

Now, go to any outlet (croma / ezone etc) and touch /feel the tablet. Then decide again on the size [lol]. Samsung (even though i am not a fan of), you can rely on the warranty / quality of it. 2000Rs extra will make sense on a longer run !

Thanks Vijay that Celkon one seems specced well. I intend to buy the phone by tomorrow so need to make a quick decision, Appus also mentioned Nokia 520 - been on Windows phone a decade back may be i might get adventurous again.

@Appus yes Tab 2 is a more no risk option if its just a matter 2k i wouldn't bother , but looks like we might have a 5k difference, SIM and GPS are a must have for me in the tablet. For the tablet decision I could wait a few days. Is there a link you can send me to a Tab 2 ?

Please wait for few days in case of tablet. The price has skyrocketed (either because of dollar rate or because of some distributors/importers) these days. The price will soon come down. Mean while, if i see any link, will post/pm you the link !

I will check these Tradus/Snapdeal/Indiatimes/HS18/Shopclues sites for coupons/discounts. At Ebay, may end up spending more time searching whether it is new, used, imported, or with/without warranty etc

If it is 520, you should get around 8000rs (good deal)

I happened to talk to a Celkon distributor in Pune and he doesnt have A119Q in stock, but apparently has A118 coming in stock today - its seems lighter(and apparently looks better) with the only hardware difference being the camera (I am least bothered about camera MP war! ) - any views ?

looks are a killer and Quad-core 1.2 GHz should make it fast and give better battery backup. gsmarena does not talk about the gpu though.

even i feel 8mp camera is ok. the MP race is nothing but a gimmick which nokia fanboys can enjoy coz they have nothing more to discuss :tongue:

no idea, android by birth has been sluggish, there is no denying that. thats why i keep saying 1gb ram is a must if you wanna enjoy android. android has evolved with each passing day and now with JB it has reached a stage where its much more fine tuned than before. battery issues and all have been addressed in the current handsets. its looking all positive for android with v KLP.

but then each manufacturer adds its skins and bloatware and what not. the level of customisation you get to do with android is not possible in any other os. the ease with which you can transfer movies, pics, songs etc is as easy as warming a pizza in the microwave.

the reason i chose an android tablet was coz of the ease in operating it. i could easily have gone for IOS or W8 but then you buy slavery with these companies. with android you are the king.

also the battery for androids is low only on phones.

people get more than 2 days of time on android tablets.
