Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

yes current modern cars have this type of lock but when it comes to TATA they never used this type of locks in their cars except TATA NANO and TATA kite is essencially based tata indica so mostly tata will use all mechanical parts from indica and vista parts both indica and vista never find this type of lock mechanism then why they used different mechanism tata kite [surprise] TATA always trys to keep design cost low thats why they use similar parts in their cars
That was fast. TATA is only using Old Indica floor pan. And that too, modified (read updated). Nowhere there is even a hint that TATA will carry over the mechanicals or parts from the old Indica. KITE is more new compared to the Bolt which is nothing but an midlife extensive facelift of the Vista.

If I remember correctly, Mr TATA once said that TATA cars will have a 8-10 years model life, with an extensive facelift (like Vista to Bolt) midlife. This has just started with Vista (Bolt). Aria (Hexa) may follow next, and then slowly the process will be applied across the range.

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

TATA NANO has some parts that are really low cost are useful when it is carried to another model that will lead to part sharing and eventually is cost reduction. Kite twins, Glade and Boom are all eligible to receive such parts from the Nano only then TML can price the car on par with Celerio. These cars are expected to be a bit heavier than Celerio but will be surely fair better in crash test even if you take Nano vs Alto.

Understand that Iron block engines are low cost as they are in production since long time. But they are heavy and don't aid in fuel efficiency.

New gen and tech is needed to produce more efficient cars for customer to garner. Once in production the costs come down and will be cheaper.

Remember we are skipping BS V emission norm to brace BS VI directly from 2017 instead of prior planned 2023.
You can not generalize and assume that using cast iron blocks in cars is old tech. The 1 litre engine in the Ecosport has an iron block as far as I know. As a non-techie, for me the easily identifiable benefits of an Aluminum engine is less weight, and easy cooling-a critical aspect.

Tata Glade To Share Parts With Bolt But Won’t Use Harman System

Tata Motors in on a path of providing improvised products to the customers along with providing a better experience. Cars like the Zest and Bolt are an example of this. Although both the cars have some similarities with their predecessors, they are much improved products and can compete with the segment leaders in most aspects. The newly launched Nano GenX is also a testament of incremental improvement Tata has been working on. The upcoming small car from the stable, the Glade, would be a totally different vehicle and if spy pictures are to be believed, it looks rather impressive.
MotorBeam reader Varun Vijay Bakshi, Harinder and Ricky recently spotted test mules of the Glade hatchback and shared the pics with us. The hatchback looks well designed and might turn out to be a surprise for most who believe it will resemble the old Tata cars. Although the body is heavily camouflaged, many elements can be seen and they look production ready. Since the vehicle will be built to a cost, it will omit on some features offered by more expensive Tata cars. However, it is expected to get some good features from the Bolt like the chunky steering wheel (also added to the Nano GenX).
The Tata Glade will not get the Harman infotainment unit found in the Zest and Bolt. Interior quality is supposed to be better than current Tata cars as the company is putting its heart and soul into this vehicle since it is very important for the brand. Having learnt from its mistakes of the Nano launch, the Indian carmaker doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes it made then. If the Glade comes with decent features and an attractive price tag, it might add a decent figure to Tata’s sales tally, moving the brand up in the monthly sales charts.

Dear Vinu,
How do you increase efficiency? Along with improved technology, you need to cut weight.

How do you do it? Use light weight materials.

Surely! Iron block is not outdated technology. It is in many stances better than Aluminium. But modern cars need to shed weight, esp TATA needs to do a lot of work in this field.

cost iron blocks provides better friction feels much refined and NVH levels are much lesser then aluminium block and how much weight difference between cast iron block and aluminium barely maximum difference will be 50kgs to 100kgs thats doesnt make big difference on mileage the major advantage of cast iron block over aluminium block is cost of production is cheap

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

Buddies,

TATA KITE test mules got involved in an accident at Pune-Bangalore Highway. One car managed to get away with few scratches but other one was badly damaged. No harm to any drivers.

When the Tata test mules took one such diversion, they were unaware what was in store. Out of nowhere, a truck came in from the flyover construction side on the left, and hit them hard. One of the Test mule’s front right wheel came off the axle due to the impact, while the other test mule had time to brake, and saved itself from a much damage.

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

TATA BUCK for the Sub-4 meter SUV (Nexon)
TATA RAZZLE for the MPV show cased as Design Concept at Auto Expo
TATA WOO for Kite Hatchback
TATA HAZE for Sedan

This order seems exact for me.
The other names seems very weird. I doubt people would accept them. Haze is good for the hatchback. Maybe Razzle for the sedan.

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

i Think Pricing wise TATA's are always bang ON except on few occasions [;)]. But at this price if rightly handled it could sell well. I think TATA also need to differentiate thier service now like NEXA. SAFARI ARIA and zest customers should be given a prioratized service while Bolt Kite and Nano can be handled by regular A.S.S. this is just IMO .

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

If TATA Really managed to price it 3.6lacks starting price of TATA Kite it will big bang for Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand I10 and TATA have good advantage over Maruti Celerio when it comes to diesel option maruti celerio diesel looks not recieved well in market sales seems pretty low and Grand i10 ruling sales last month almost 14000units where sold So lets wait and see how TATA will wow the Celerio and grand i10 buyers

Lets Compare Price difference betweem maruti Celerio, Hyndai Grand i10 and TATA Bolt them we may get good idea on TATA Kite pricing

Maruti Suzuki Celerio LXI - 4.10 Lacks Ex-Showroom Hyderabad ZXI(O) - 5.17 Lacks

TATA Bolt XE Revotron - 4.46 Lacks Ex-showroom Hyderabad TATA Bolt XT Revotron - 6.10 Lacks

Hyundai Grand i10 Era Kappa VTVT - 4.79 Lacks Ex-Showroom Hyderabad Asta (O) Kappa VTVT - 5.99Lacks

its seems TATA Reduced price of TATA BOLT to attract customers So we may expect TATA Kite price list definitely grab some attention
