Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

AutoCarIndia conformed that TATA Kite features All New Allumium Block 4valves per cylinder Head 3cylinder 1.2L petrol engine So if this news true means TATA doing right way most of the time tata lacks behind maruti and hyundai because of its unrelieable petrol motors they are old tech and heavy weight At last Tata finally wakeuped and doing some great job with their cars i hope that this upcoming i10 revival will reach Maruti and Hyundai standards in terms of quality and relieable petrol motors

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

I wonder how long before the Bolt and Zest get these new engines-seems odd to give the lower end car a high tech engine and the show stopper (Bolt/Zest) a modified old engine?
Is this the end of the CR4?/ Tdi

The aluminium block is for the Petrol engines and the CR4/TDi engines are diesel mills.

But I think it is wise for the engineers at TATA Motors to plan for a swap the current iron block Revotron Petrol engine with the newgen 3 Cly Alu block with a turbo charger fitted to make them more lighter, agile and efficient.

TATA's Upcoming 1.05L Dicor or Varicor engine may feature aluminium head to make it lighter

TATA motors Upcoming 3cylinder 1.2L Revotron NG available in three different state tunes type of technology used in this mill

TATA Already revealed two engines details in auto expo one found in TATA NEXON Concept SUV that features

1197cc 3cylinder DOHC 12valves VCT Turbocharged engine produces 110BHP and 170NM Torquee

without turbo charger this engine produces 85Bhp @6000rpm and 115NM max torquee @3500rpm

So we expect in TATA Glade(kite4) petrol engine features

1197cc 3cylinder 12valves DOHC engine capable to produce 70BHP and 100NM torquee

coming back to TATA's REVOTRON 1.2T cast iron block engines they are low cost engines compared with TATA's NEXT GEN Revotron engines so TATA Dont discontinue cast iron block engines

Understand that Iron block engines are low cost as they are in production since long time. But they are heavy and don't aid in fuel efficiency.

New gen and tech is needed to produce more efficient cars for customer to garner. Once in production the costs come down and will be cheaper.

Remember we are skipping BS V emission norm to brace BS VI directly from 2017 instead of prior planned 2023.

But TATA will continue Revotron 1.2T Iron Block engine in TATA ZEST?BOLT cars un-till their life ends and according my opinion TATA had some future plans on Revotron 1.2T engine that why they invested money on 1.2L XETA block So TATA will use this engine commercial vehicles too because both All Aluminium 1.2L 3cylinder Revotron 1.2NG and Revetron 1.2T both engines are developed same year so a good capable all new engine ready for market launch then why tata introduced Revotron 1.2T engine why they waste money and time to upgrade existing TATA's XETA engine instead of this TATA should concentrate on revotron 1.2NG and we all know that TATA ZEST Revotron and Bolt Revotron is not capable to stand against its revivals then why TATA not intenced to release the all new 3cylinder mill in bolt/zest they took market launch[anger]

16 years old TATA Indica comes with modern locking mechanism but why tata opted classic locking type mechanism in upcoming tata kite

Push to lock/unlock is not the old world thing that you think it is.

Its similar to keyless entry. You dont have to unlock the car with the key. Instead car unlocks itself when the key is in the vicinity.

Some other small car has this. Is it Sunny or Micra.

Check the following.

see the black button. That is the keyless entry. You dont have to use the key fob, instead when the key is in the vicinity, press the black button to unlock the car.

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

Well in fact the 15l Renault Dumpster had this type of lock. Nothing is wrong in a hatchback having this.
yes current modern cars have this type of lock but when it comes to TATA they never used this type of locks in their cars except TATA NANO and TATA kite is essencially based tata indica so mostly tata will use all mechanical parts from indica and vista parts both indica and vista never find this type of lock mechanism then why they used different mechanism tata kite [surprise] TATA always trys to keep design cost low thats why they use similar parts in their cars
