Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

If TATA Kite comes with Revotron 1.2NA instead of Revotron 1.2T engine then the power and Torque will be at 65BHP and 100NM torque because Revotron 1.2T engine nothing but reworked 1.2L XETA engine with turbo and lets hope this engine will be good in refinement levels and fuel Efficient levels but i wonder how it should be fuel efficient Revotron Turbo engine gives around 17KMPL so by removing Turbo Fuel Efficiency of this engine will increase or decrease any guess:help:
Removal of turbo will definitely increase efficiency while the power and torque outputs are compromised.

Kite to launch in June-15.
The camouflaged Tata Kite hatchback has got rounded bumpers and with defogger visible in the rear. The test mule spied wears a tall body look, with new rounded tail lamps in the back, unlike the older generation.

Tata Kite is expected to share similar styling features of the Bolt on the interiors. However the Kite will be superior in quality than the older generation Indica. With regards to infotainment inside the car, we can assume Tata to include the latest of the gadgets.
Tata Kite is likely to add a new three-cylinder, 1.05-litre diesel motor, churning out 64hp and 140Nm of peak torque, and the all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine which also powers the Bolt.Tata-Kite-hatchback-spied-from-rear
There has been rumors floating on which transmission will be used, expect it to be a 5-speed gear-box, which could eventually get carried away by AMT (Automated-Manual Transmission) gearbox.

I would never prefer to buy a car from Tata as it has positioned itself to the market as a Taxi Car, but surely Karl lynn might revamp the brand Tata motors as a whole and deliver better products to the market.

@RAJESH VARMA any car that goes into the taxi industry means that car is trustworthy, Reliable, low on maintenance and high on mileage. its one's perception nothing related to product or its functionality. In such a case one should never buy a TOYOTA INNOVA, TOYOTA LIVA, as they are also used as taxi's. Bangalore delhi and Punjab also has a no.of Audi's and BMW's as taxi's does that mean to say.people should not buy it. dont judge a book by its cover. in such a case a few years back people be it be consumer section or the commercial section had manly two choices Ambassador and Premier padmini. so according to your theory those should have never been owned by anyone as it was the major taxi player's of their time.

They are not the roof rails. The engineers at TML should have redesigned the roof. They should have added ribs or flutes to the roof for added rigidity that decreases usage of any added bars across the roof eventually leading to decrease in the over all weight of the car, just like on the Micra and Etios.

It's more than a year since Mr. karl Slym passed away. You need not buy a Tata car, but for your information, they have told that Zest or Bolt won't be sold as taxis.

Ribs or flutes?[confused] Will they protrude like this??
I guess they aren't. Considering the size they are protruding (even through the camouflage), if Tata takes it in the production car it may look weird IMO.

Ribs or flutes mean small grooves on the roof but in varying designs just like on the roof of the Nano, ETIOS or MICRA. They should have camouflaged it to hide the design as people tend to compare it with the current Indica.

I guess I'm pretty much aware about roof ribs/flutes. The thing protruding on roof of Kite seems out of place and if this being the story in the real car in the name of ribs 'may' look awkward!

Added picture for your reference.
