Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

This version of rendering is also looking good, lets hope the actual car will look somewhat like this. I think the 'smiley' grill should go off from the design, then only people will stop talking about its predecessor Indica when they see a kite.

Wow! This spy shot reveals most of the looks of the car. The looks are futuristic. The muscular lines along the face gives it modern and contemporary feel. It is no more looking like a typical TATA Face.

That looks like a production ready car. Headlights and taillamps are not dummies

Out of the Kite duo, the hatchback would debut first – in and around the second half of 2015 – followed by the compact sedan, which would hit the Indian shores around the end of 2015 or beginning of 2016.

Tata Kite hatchback – IAB Rendering

Tata-Kite-front-render-IAB.jpg

Indica-based small car likely to launch by mid-2015.
Based on available spyshots, our in-house artist, Shoeb, has created a digital mockup of the upcoming Tata hatchback codenamed ‘Kite’. Based on the Indica’s platform, the Kite is reported to launch by mid-2015, and will spawn a compact sedan that will replace the now aging Indigo eCS.

Looks great and premium enough to compete even with the Grand i10![clap] There is a tinge of the Grand i10 and the Ford KA. But nonetheless Great job by Shoebji!
If this is the actual car, it will surely sell like hot cakes! Eagerly waiting!

The biggest USP of Tata vehicles is internal comfortable cabin space and ride and handling quality (atleast from Tata Zest & Tata Bolt onwards) and the weakest point was the looks and beauty of the car.

Now with DesigNext Tata Motors have come out of this too...Wow car looks amazing...

all in all TML is all set for bright future. if this is what the finished product will look like no one would see any connection of it to its predecessor. in no angle it looks like the old Indica. Things have finally started going right for TATA. India's finest companies with true meaning for reliability and quality as well as cost effectiveness.

This is great work. I hope The Kite resembles the one as near to the portrayed one. I love it.

Keep going 'Team TATA'. Three cheers to 'HORIZONEXT'.

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

Tata Kite interiors spied and features revealed for the First time.

The Kite will be powered by a 1.05-litre diesel engine. This is another confirmation that we have received. This is a three-cylinder engine, with one cylinder less than the1.4-litre CR4.

The petrol engine might be the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol, but the power will be lesser than the Zest and the Bolt. This engine should produce about 75bhp.

. The three-spoke steering wheel is the same as the Zest. The Kite hatchback and sedan both will get speed-sensing electronic power steering. It audio controls too and even voice command that was developed by Harman. The ORVM adjustment is electric and the Kite will get four speakers and two tweeters. The instrument cluster will be similar to the Zest and the Bolt too. There will not be a touch-screen system, but there will be a Harman system in the Kite as well with Bluetooth, USB and aux connectivity.

The centre console is new and the Kite gets a new design for AC vents, however the air-con is manual and not climate control. The air-con vents are rectangular in shape unlike the Zest and the Bolt. The gear lever has been borrowed from the Zest and the Bolt too.Even the power windows switches are shared amongst all the four family members

This will also the ninth-generation ABS and even airbags will be an optional feature

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

Kite Engine detail emerge!

The Kite petrol will be the 1.2-litre petrol engine, however this won’t be turbocharged, but it shall be naturally aspirated. This is the same engine that powers the Zest and the Bolt, however there will be no turbocharger on them.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine on the Kite will produce about 65-75bhp of power and about 95Nm of torque. There is no clarity whether these new cars will get multi-drive, as that will increase the cost.

The Kite twins will be powered by this engine and the diesel engine will be the 1.05-litre CR4 engine, which is the three-cylinder version of the existing 1.4-litre CR4 that already powers the Indica eV2 and the Indigo eCS. This engine will produce about 63bhp of power. Supposedly, the diesel engine is likely to have a fuel efficiency between 27-30km/l.

If TATA Kite comes with Revotron 1.2NA instead of Revotron 1.2T engine then the power and Torque will be at 65BHP and 100NM torque because Revotron 1.2T engine nothing but reworked 1.2L XETA engine with turbo and lets hope this engine will be good in refinement levels and fuel Efficient levels but i wonder how it should be fuel efficient Revotron Turbo engine gives around 17KMPL so by removing Turbo Fuel Efficiency of this engine will increase or decrease any guess:help:
