just got update from TML SA that Optional packages are no more for XE,XM,XT models and cancelled the bookings. Tata is cheated customers.. Cheap Sales strategy.. [anger]
We cannot rely on the information provided by one Sales Advisor. Try confirming this from Tata Motors itself via Twitter or Facebook or Call Centre.

Thanks. It is just 10 days since I took the delivery of the car and I have already crossed 1000 kms on the ODO. The first service will be done on this weekend. Just completed a 400+ kms long drive yesterday from my native in erode to Chennai. I used the Eco mode around 70% of the time and the AC was ON all the time. I was driving constantly at around 90 KMPH. Never crossed 100 KMPH. I got a staggering fuel efficeincy of 26.5 KMPL according to the MID Trip meter. The ride quality is like magic carpet. You won't feel any bumps or undulations. Even the speed breakers can be crossed in second gear. The AC will chill you to your bones even at blower speed 1. I had to set the temperature control knob at the middle level to prevent myself from freezing [:D]. The power is enough to drive on our roads. Never felt any lack of power. Only issue is the bigger turning radius (4.9 meters) which makes turning in tight spots a bit tricky. I am in love with this car already.

SOUND NICE BRO, ITS REALLY HELP FULL REVIEW COZ I ALSO GOING TO BOOK ZX DIESEL BUT ONCE AFTER TEST DRIVE IT AND IN VADODARA- GUJARAT, DIESEL TIAGO IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR TD. SO REVIEW OF DIESEL OWNER ARE VERY HELPFUL.
Some one have AC Problem in Diesel Version ,it true ? have u face any issue regarding AC's work ? your MID Trip Meter AVG and Actual AVG is Equal ? What you think is True VFM ? one more thing have buy Extended Warranty or AMC ?

TML CRM has approached me after raising complaint against Optional package, and was saying that optional package cars will be manufactured after the regular models delivery get stabilised and it may take 13-20 weeks to work on optional cars.

Actually, XE(O) model has all the features whatever I want. [confused]

Optional Trim always has a higher waiting time for all manufacturers, especially for fast selling new model cars. In some cases safety features are bundled in 'optional' trim and consumers are discouraged to buy it citing higher waiting time !

To all my buddies, Let me first applaud Vipul for testing the Tiago to it's limits both on road and off-road. I have been in touch with him ever since he began to Test it few days back. I must tell you, this upcoming review by all means would be THE MOST DETAILED review of Diesel Tiago. The so-called pundits of Official Reviews and every guest reader of The Automotive India would certainly appreciate the amount of efforts and attention to detail that he has put in. After TATA's official endurance test, it would not be a over-estimated thought to call our upcoming TIAGO Diesel review as Mini Endurance Test!
Sirji, you just added a lot to the already tough challenge. Getting the things right is getting trickier now especially after that bold phrase.

That's the only issue, right now in the midst of travel for some work. Will try to wind up everything by Sunday at max though.

This video is awesome. The camera has barely seen any vertical movement over that bad stretch. Proves the ability of the Tiago's suspension.
Sirji this suspension is damn awesome, I have rallied on bad patches at speeds which will scare the a$$ off out of even Safari owners but Tiago maintained its composure. We drove for whole 700+ kms and I can tell you that despite of being very quick over the bad patches, Tiago never felt nervous.

Here are two pics (One repeated) and again the same braking video; everything at a single point you know.

We encountered this really bad patch on the Chilla road of Haridwar and it was important to get past of it. We haven't been slow and simply let the GC and suspension take care of everything (I have enough experience of driving in farms, to my remote sites etc) and that's when this happened. But I tell you, no jerk, no grip loss at front end and absolutely no belly scraping. Talk to some so-called offroader and they normally go gaga over this thing calling it 'axle twisters'; and I tell you, the axle of Tiago hasn't got twisted.

Phenomenal front end grip I must say. This is something I won't try in any car under SWift ZXi at least, the Tiago took care this inner-rear-wheel-lifting hard twist quite well. This is despite of accidentally getting my front outer wheel (Race car vehicle dynamics dictate that this can get life threatening) on some roadside dust. But everything was well under control (CSC working?) and the car came to rest without any drama with some open mouthed stares from some tourists for sure.

Although already posted but this braking video is worth a second watch. The vehice took exactly 1.8 (I.76 in fact) seconds to come to rest from 80 kph on dry tarmac. Now experts are free to calculate the brakign distance with and without reaction time of 0.75-1 second, my calculation (I have done it 6 times to be sure) reveals some impressive figures (Better than competition for sure) which I would love to share in the coming review but braking is really impressive i must say and the vehicle doesn't tend to lose the line or fishtail under hard braking even with slight to hard steering input.

I accidentally ran into a small speed hump (about 2-3 inches wide and tall) on my Petrol XZ (50kph) and boy, just two loud thumps and nothing more. Hopefully I didn't break anything.

Question: Do you think suspension and dynamics would behave any different on Petrol variants, given its lighter nose?

Do get the extended warranty compulsorily. The engine being used by TATA in Tiago is new. You never know what will happen in the long term. TATA ASS is a hit or miss. You may get good After Sales if you develop a good relationship with the local ASS guys.
Thanks for response. I will go for AMC and extended warranty both. Why to take risk for 15-16 k! [roll]

Hello All,
But Grand i10 Sports does not have ABS, Rear spoiler, Alloy wheels, Rear wiper, Boot lamp, Driver seat height adjuster and Adjustable head rests.
Those are the differences I could find from the specification for both cars.

Need help from you all to decide, planning to book it this weekend.

Just to add to the list, you missed very much important 'Two Airbags', Corner Stability programme, seat belts with pre-tensioners and EBD in Tiago against none in Grand i10 sportz (Airbags are not there even in the Asta variant, are optional).

So Tiago here is ways ahead when compared with Grand i10 on this front, and even in terms of ride quality and handling its superb.[clap]

Unfortunately he forgot to take pics of the interior. Anyway he will be taking delivery next week.
