Hello Folks,

Just joined this forum. Thanking you all in advance for answering my query.

I booked a Tiago XZ petrol and now I am confused about everything it seems [frustration]

Requirements:
=====
I am not going to drive more than 500-700 KM/month
Would love to take it to the hill station near by on weekends etc(enough power)
Budget can be stretched till 8 OTR Bangalore
Mileage is not too much worry(12-14 would be fine)
Safe
Fun/Ease to drive
VIMP: Fuss free A.S.S.(lack of time [cry])
=====

Confused About:
=====
Figo 1.2 Titanium
Toyota Etios Liva VXI
Tiago XZ
=====

Please suggest me. I can even check the Diesel too but heard from folks that maintaining a diesel vehicle is harder than petrol.

Thanks,
Amit

For your kind of usage, petrol is the best bet, and Tiago XZ is true VFM, ask the dealer to give you a April/May mfr. car, and do a through PDI before delivery.

Hello all,

Just joined this forum. A newbie here. I want to buy my first car. Will be traveling 500kms round trip twice a month on NH4 and city driving on weekends. My budget is 6-7 L. Should I go for diesel ? Many reviewers claimed that Tiago is ideal for city driving. How will it perform on highways? I am confused over Grand i10 or Tiago XZ.

Welcome to TAI Sush,
Tiago XZ variant is bang for buck for the features on offer. Personally I like the Diesel variant more than the petrol variant. However, would suggest you to look at both. for a 1000km (2 round trip on NH4) would suggest diesel. Tiago is good for driving in city and highwaystoo.

Great suspension set up, great responsive steering and car is capable of doing 3 digit speed effortlessly. According to me you need not look beyond the tiago.

Hello all,

I will be getting delivery of my Tiago XZ Petrol next week [:)]
Booked XT(O) on 10th April but switched to XZ 2 weeks later.

I have decided to buy insurance from outside which is 6-7 k cheaper. I have doubt regarding AMC and extended warranty. Is it worth spending 15-16k for the same? How is TATA's after sales service?

To all my buddies, Let me first applaud Vipul for testing the Tiago to it's limits both on road and off-road. I have been in touch with him ever since he began to Test it few days back. I must tell you, this upcoming review by all means would be THE MOST DETAILED review of Diesel Tiago. The so-called pundits of Official Reviews and every guest reader of The Automotive India would certainly appreciate the amount of efforts and attention to detail that he has put in. After TATA's official endurance test, it would not be a over-estimated thought to call our upcoming TIAGO Diesel review as Mini Endurance Test!

However, If I ever have the opportunity to share the seat with Vipul, the most important thing which I will make sure of is a valid life insurance policy!

Fantastic job Chote LaaL[clap] Upload your review fast!

Do get the extended warranty compulsorily. The engine being used by TATA in Tiago is new. You never know what will happen in the long term. TATA ASS is a hit or miss. You may get good After Sales if you develop a good relationship with the local ASS guys.

Hello All,
This is my first post in TAI.
I have finally shortlisted two cars- Grand i10 Sports and Tiago.
This will be my first car and was initially considering Alto/Eon/Kwid as I am still learning to drive. Then increased my budget and decided on either Grand i10 Sports or Tiago XZ.

Tiago- Rs.6 Lakhs on road Bangalore.
Grand i10 Sports - Rs.6.5 Lakhs on road Bangalore.

But Grand i10 Sports does not have ABS, Rear spoiler, Alloy wheels, Rear wiper, Boot lamp, Driver seat height adjuster and Adjustable head rests.
Those are the differences I could find from the specification for both cars.

Need help from you all to decide, planning to book it this weekend.

Regards,
Saju

just got update from TML SA that Optional packages are no more for XE,XM,XT models and cancelled the bookings. Tata is cheated customers.. Cheap Sales strategy.. [anger]
That's not a good thing. My friend was looking forward to buy this car in October and on my recommendation he was opting for optional variants. Let's see if we hear the same thing from other tata dealers.
WHen we went to take a td he told the waiting period of every model is 3 months.
