Recently I have read NCAP rated 0 star for five Indian car in crash test.
Guys what do you think how much tiago will score if subjected under same crash test?
Just asking.
Tata cars are known to be tough and strong since the Indica.
The Vista had scored 3 stars with dual airbags.
Also Tata claims the Tiago to be suitable for future safety norms. So my guess is the Tiago will easily score 3 stars with dual airbags.

during my test drive of Tiago my SA specifically mentioned that Tiago has a front collision protection bar. Now if that is to be believed i do feel Tiago should be a safer car of the lot.

Additionally, i do feel TML rarely bothers to shed the wait of their cars by avoiding such important components otherwise why would have it weighted over 1000 KG even when it is smaller in dimensions when compared with Grand i10. They prefer to tune their engines for efficiency than shedding wait of their cars, and almost all the TATA cars have proven to be fairly fuel efficient.

Moreover, last year whilecoming to delhi from H.P, i had seen a Tata Indigo collision with an Innova and to my surprise Indigo while much smaller in size didn't suffer much damage on the front and it seemed to be that passengers of both the cars would have easily survived. Both the cars had suffered almost equally.

I did TD on Celerio and felt like I was in a large coke tin. Maruti is looting people with its brand name. The same is proved in crash test results mentioned in NCAP.

I am waiting for the 2017 crash norms to set in. And when it does, all cars will go up in price. Then only we can get to know the realistic price of the cars.
I feel after the crash norms are in place the cars which already adhere to them (e.g. polo, Etios etc.) will not see a price hike however for others same might not be true and they would see a price hike and weight increase, for the addition of reinforcements in the body structure.

Note: This post is not to bash any brand

There are always two type of manufacturers. One is engineering driven (like many European and American brands) and one is technology driven (Japanese, Koreans etc). There is a third category which has none and hence we won't talk about them.

Tata cars are more or less biased towards the engineering driven side and this is even more evident on their new products like Storme, Tiago, Zest, Bolt etc. These are well engineered products with some touch of technology, normally slightly better built cars are these and they won't have so called impact protection jugaads highlighted like Suzuki TECT etc. They basically have a heavier chassis and normally weigh more.

In other words, Tiago seems to be a well engineered product and I won't be surprised inncase Tiago manages to get even 4 star safety rating. Why so? Involvement of JLR teams in development and their feedback as well as the taut chassis with a good kerb weight, maybe Tiago can prove to be the safest small hatch in our country.

I got to TD the Diesel Tiago last weekend. Had test driven the Petrol one couple of weeks ago. After returning from the test drives, I had a feeling that the chasis is capable of handling much more power. It's extremely well balanced & well-weighted too. Eventhough the current set of engines are perfectly fine in terms of the segment they are catering to. But the Tiago could be offered with more powerful engines in the future, possibly in sportier avatar and at a higher price point too.

AI EXCLUSIVE: Sources close to the Sanand Plant of Tata Motors have claimed that the company has retuned the petrol ‪#‎Tiago‬, and the new batch will get better refinement levels. This development comes after the Indian automaker received negative feedback from various auto-portals regarding vibrations in the petrol variants.
Ppl how far this new is true...?
Its seems all januvary made cars have this prblm and newly one are all tuned ones..how far is this true??
What about owners who already bought januvary batch cars??

I too worried. Mine was January manufactured. I too have the same problem, drop in power & pick up. Also felt more vibration. Raised complaint with TML, but no response till now.

Hey Guys,
Not so good news to share. Concorde is just taking me for a ride or TATA really doesn't want me to buy this car.
I had asked my SA last month to share the details when diesel is available for test drive, no reply till today.
I called him up and I get a response " Sir I was on leave since 2 weeks let me try and get the details by calling my showroom "

I am tired of Concorde, Paschim Vihar's antics and polite excuses, could form members please guide me should I cancel my booking from here and book/buy from other showroom or the booking can be transferred from this showroom?

If I have to cancel please advice any good showroom to head to in Delhi near west delhi, would like to close the deal in 1 week, not willing to wait any longer.

Thanks.

Truly pathetic from Concorde guys I must say. Started to act as a dampener on my decision to go with TATA+Concorde.
Hey bro,

PM me and I might help you out. You know that I booked from same dealer before you. They are pathetic. I already cancelled my booking from them and today I am getting my car delivered (Diesel XZ) from autovikas moti nagar. These guys are very professional. Now I have made friends there and I can get you car from them asap.

Well guys for my egg head brain i feel that the changes that would be done to the petrol cars would be around putting some damping materials around gear stick or may be changing bit of engine tuning and few paraphernalia around engine mounts etc. I dont think they will do a major engine remap. So much of these should be available for existing owners as well.
Unless I am completely off tangent, I dont think Tata will be foolish enough to repeat the same mistake done in prev generation cars.
Worst case they should then proactively recall all the first owners cars and do those changes as complimentary /loyalty action so that the first owners are not left high and dry.
