I don't get it. Comparing the top model of Tata Tiago with base models of Figo or Baleno or whatever. If comparing the base model then check the base model of tiago as well which cost 3.20. Now I think people will compare it with Nano top model or Kwid base model or is there any one else in that range?

Keep on comparing guys and say that tiago is costly. Nothing changes it is fantastico.

Exactly. I also wanted to say let's compare base version of Tiago with Nano. Stopped as Nano doesn't come with 14 inch wheel.[lol]

My friend wanted to buy Tiago and took test drive along with me. He finally went with Wagon-R as he thinks "Maruti cars can be repaired at roadside garage. No-one knows how to fix Tiago which is a new car".

I told him Tiago has been tested for 50000 Km non-stop. His point no-one has driven it for a year. As he is purchasing it for his parents I stopped and let him go with his choice.

I can't argue when someone decides "fix at any roadside garage" or "people have driven it for years" is important. Let people be happy with their choice.

Wagon R lol your friend should look for safety of his parents compare to saving some money with road side fellow. With wagon R simple comparison is Tiago comes with corner stability control. ABS, EBD. What ever end of the day it's his choice.

Comparing tiago with higher segment cars that too cars of foreign brands and saying tiago is expensive even though they are expensive than tiago and charge premium out of nothing to what they sell in other countries where they offer more equipment and build quality at the same price they sell in India to me it looks like asking Tata Motors to sell an rolls Royce or an Jaguar at the price of Tata nano and buying an foreign brand car at the price of rolls Royce or Jaguar and taking delivery of nano[lol]

Note: not directed against any one

Guys, I did my PDI today @ Concorde Motors,Bangalore. It went for almost 1.5 to 2 hours and the vehicle is in good condition. Two things which made me sad during PDI.

1. As per the VIN, it was manufactured on Jan,2016. This worrying me a lot. Is my dealer pushing me the old stock/Display car.

2. Tyre is from GoodYear. But seen few Tiago with Bridgestone Tyres ( March,2016 cars)

I insisted SA & manager, Can I get the other car with latest batch but they they have done already Invoice. If i want to change, then they need to cancel the current booking and create the new one and now waiting period jumped to 8 weeks from 4 weeks. Also he told there may be chances that price may increase and the increased price will be applicable during delivery. Now I am really confused, Can I take this car itself or cancel the booking and get the new order.

IMO, Checked with Manager, they said CONCORDE Bangalore had 655 bookings ( all 6 branches) and there is no cars available in their stockyard and waiting for the next batch delivery.

Need expert opinion. Thanks

This should not be an issue since it's just over 2 month old. Considering that the car launched in April 2016. If you have done the PDI and did not find any thing missing / wrong in the car then do not worry and go ahead with the purchase. Till the time it is 2016 make, there is no issue. Thankfully you aren't allotted a late 2015/ end 2015 model year manufactured car.

2. Tyre is from GoodYear. But seen few Tiago with Bridgestone Tyres ( March,2016 cars)
Ask the dealer if he has any TIAGO in present that has bridgestone Tyre(s) or if he can swap Good Year with the Bridgestone at his end. Also, check which make of Tyre is their display car having. Try to convince the dealer to swap the Tyre of Display car (TIAGO) with your's if it has Bridgestone.

Don't cancel the booking. If you are totally satisfied with the PDI then don't be worried unnecessarily. As I said, it's 2016 model then you should not worry. And dealer is correct that Prices at time of delivery are applicable. So, as your car's invoicing is done then do not cancel it else you'll be at loss in terms of price and waiting period.

Would suggest you to go with the allotted car.

Want a clarification on this point. I was told by SA if you book now price will not be increased at the time of delivery (except in the case of Tax increase). So which statement is correct?

Thanks Akash for your support & advice. I will check with my dealer for the tyre replacement. I decided not to cancel the booking, since the car does not have any issues during PDI. In fact SA assisted & listened to me for the complete PDI and did not force me to complete the PDI early, though he is busy.

See, the day a car's final invoicing is done the prices at that point of time are applied. Atleast this is what is told to me. If your car's invoicing is done on say 01st of May and prices are increased on 05th May then you are saved.

I do not know about the terms& conditions from your dealer. But Concorde motors @ Bangalore, they told during booking that " * Prices quoted here are only indicative & price prevailing at the time of delivery shall apply". They told that during invoice , they take the price fixed by TML. But in you case, if they had informed you orally, better get the written statement in their letterhead.

Many thanks Akash. Just checked my last car purchase invoice fine prints. You are right - it is written prevailing price at the time of delivery will be charged.
