Hello all! This is my first first post on TAI though been a follower for a while... By the way, my point is that I AM Really confused between ford figo and tata tiago!

In tiago, I am looking forward to buy xz petrol infact already booked one.. but...
Ford figo diesel(100ps) is lingering in my heart with its diesel one. The dealer is giving me discounts too...

Top model Tiago P for 5.54L in Patna
It has all the goodies.. ABS, Airbags etc..
The Ford Figo Ambiente diesel is costing Around 6.6L , I hope the dealer will give atleast 40K discounts... But it will be missing some essential features such as Abs and audio system... Comes with airbags though.

Really waiting for your replies...

i have booked Expresso brown Petrol XZ model on 09.04.2014 but no proper information about delivery !
WOuld suggest you to talk to your sales advisor. Keep in touch with him/her till car is being allotted. Also if you feel your SA is not responsive enought tweet to @TaigoTatamotors or official tiago page on Facebook. I am sure you will get a response from them and your query would be addressed to.

I would suggest you should not skip the ABS, and Airbags. Safety is prime. Will always suggest you Tiago.
Audio in Tiago is the one which you will not get in aftermarket unless you spend on the subwoofer amps etc. But again all the benefits like turn by turn navigation, juke app (i guess so) will not be available. So again in this case Tiago trumps.

In terms of space and engine Figo is clear cut winner. Having said that though tiago is smaller on the engine I would still suggest Tiago since safety features are provided. You have a fully loaded car which has a great mileage, it is fast and zippy. The car has great ride. So For me its Tiago. Had I been in the market for a hatch Tiago would have been my obvious choice.

I echo what @vikyjoshi just said, Saftey comes first in today's world and with features like Corner stability program, seat belt pre-tensioners etc. tiago is much ahead in its segments and gives a tough fight to even a segment above cars.

Figo Ambiente without ABS and other features will only be offering better engine performance but that too by paying atleast 60-70K extra and comparatively higher service costs for the diesel.

Tiago revotron drive and feel continue...

So the moment I sat on the seat it hugged me well. And the feel was definetly from upper class.

The moment I crancked the engine it felt like diesel (read vibrations) however in few seconds it went away After that it was smooth.

The music system and bluetooth connectivity with my phone was a breeze. Amazing sound quality.

Now time to roll on the road. The steering is light like my Chevy sail however it wieghed up precisely on the highway. The ac worked well and as reported by lot others, I did not find any issues at all after driving celerio however my Sail sedan trumps here.

Now engine - Yes it is three pot motor and it feels the same however it never felt inadequate nor the vibration felt that much . NVH is acceptable but better than celerio however the motor is not as refined as Grand i10 but I found it good and better tuned towards mileage. I revved it till 110-120 but I backed as it was a new baby and not mine. It's a kind of rev happy motor in its class/segment and reached three digit just like that.

Ride and Handling was where it takes celerio and even grand from the neck and shines through out with right weight and great suspension setup.

I found the car really a great machine with loads of features and on a great price. I felt it more like Polo than like Bolt or Celerio.

Highlights:

Good build
Amazing interiors
Nice engine
Great ride quality
Attention seeking quality[;)]

Could be better
Touch screen system
Automatic climate control
Better alloy wheel design or dual color for the same one

Rest it was fantastico.

Please ask any questions/queries you have would love to answer if I can as Tiago was with me for just few hours and I enjoyed it a lot[:)]

So many booking delivery is slow, today morning my friend took delivery of his Safari strome 400vx 4x4. And when he came home he was telling my brother that my garage is like TATA stoke yard. Most of the cars are from TATA and JLR, expect carolla and 5 series.

Hi all i have joined TAI today ... i have read all the 109 pages of this thread since i am also planning on buying my first car. Have done a thorough research and I have taken TD of both Tiago XZ and Grand i10 Sportz petrol. I found grand i10 to be better in terms of refinement and pickup but overall as a package Tiago is better since it is more VFM.
Unable to decide between xz and sportz model.
I would be missing out on Abs if i go for grand i10 Sportz while Tiago XZ petrol is quite not there from driving pleasure perspective. It felt sluggish on inclines.
The price diff between both are arnd 70k... please suggest.

As our friend vickyjoshi said, you shouldn't be skipping over ABS and Airbags.
Also the Grand i10 Petrol is 4 cylinder while the Tiago is 3 cylinder. You should have compared the Tiago with the Celerio instead.
I don't know about Hyundai service in Mumbai, but have been hearing lot of negative stories about Hyundai service and costs. Tata service always has been cheaper than most other brands.
Regarding driving pleasure (ride and handling), I found the Tiago to be much more fun than any Hyundai or Maruti car at that price range. Views are subjective though.
I would suggest you to go for the Tiago since it's an incredibly VFM and beautiful car at a steal of a price.

It depends on your priority. I echo DJbro here.

As a first time buyer you might not experience mUch of refignment issue as Tiago is not far behind grand i10 however if I would have been at your place I would have gone for safety first ie ABS, EBD and other features.

And even in Tiago XZ you would also get Harmon system and lot of other features which is not available in grand i10 spotz.

TD Tiago once again and decide.
