I think no other manufacturer can touch Dezire in this segment and for TATA it will be near impossible. At least for next 4 - 5 years.
I think 80% of the Dzires are yellow board cabs. Now white board Dzires will keep falling and finally Dzire is going to become the next Indica!!!

its not true buddy Dzire tour market share too small compare to indica/indigo cs and Etios

Maruti Swift Dzire created strong brand value in Compact Sedan Space in hyderabab we have lots lots of Dzires [roll] here people blindly buys Maruti Swift and Dzire without any question [surprise]

Others have answered already. Even if it were true, I don't see why "Taxi Image" should disturb a Dzire owner, from the point of ownership. I'm sorry, but I'm sick of this "taxi image" thingy.

Having discussed this issue over past many years with people owning Indica/Manza, I can share my discovery here at TAI. At TATA Service Centers, owners didn't / don't like having to mix with Indica Taxi Drivers in the lounge. Sometimes the Taxi drivers don't behave properly there. It can be referred to the Service Center Manager in a subtle or even direct way. My argument is do we care who stands next to us in the veg / meat shop or bakery or fuel station ? Basically these things should not matter. PERIOD.

I see already other members have answered. Whether it is 80% or 20%, fact is Dezire sells and it is going to dominate this segment for long.
Absolutely right!. There are a lot of people in India who buy a car without much market research. For many such people across different states, if they need a hatch their choice will be Swift and if a sedan its Dzire. Its a real challenge for any manufacturer to beat Maruti in sales in Indian market, even if they come up with many catchy and VFM features. Only Hyundai could manage to do this till some extent.

This will be very well understood by the TATA vehicle owners. TATA Motors itself is itself in a big ditch because of this "thingy" which was created by many of us!!! Accept or deny - World moves on likes this and lives like this. "False brand images" talk louder than the facts [frustration]

World moves on likes this ... Yes, I agree to this.

False brand images ... Have you realised WHAT an interesting but debatable topic you have brought to the table? Specially when you consider the rise of Xiaomi "from NO brand to #3 brand" in world (NO to False Brand Image, meaning Customers don't care about brand when pure Gold is offered at 18 carat rates), the rising demand for mirrorless cameras world over (NO to False Brand Image, meaning value more than brand), the way Maruti has an iron grip on the market purely based on A$$ (YES to False Brand Image, meaning Customers do take bullcrap), failure of Versa, Getz, new Zen, SX4, Jazz and many other cars (NO to False Brand Image, meaning Customers don't take bullcrap), the huge success of Apple inspite of a totally closed OS (YES), the way Hockey and other sports have lost out to Cricket in India (YES), TATA Zest (NO, meaning Indica's image doesn't come in the way of buying decision) etc.

Being the originator, I think YOU should start a thread / poll on this [;)]

PS: Thanks to Zest, escaped with a 95% OT post. Phew...

here one thing we should remember here before judging on Brand Image and brand value how cars models they launched when they started manufacturing cars in indian market and how many of them in production in market still now

coming to maruti till now they launched around more then 25 cars upto date in it almoust more then 10 models were Discontinued from market in those Kijashi,SX$,Estilo, A-star and versa are not tasted sucess

but when it comes to TATA Motors they launched around 18 cars in Passenger segment from 1990's onwards in those they just discontinued only 3 cars namely TATA Estate, TATA Sierra and TATA Indigo Marina(SW) here its clear that TATA Success rate much better then Maruti because maruti Have Great R&D centers from worldwide they had technology and great platforms from 3decades onwards but untill 2005 they never may any exited products like TATA Sierra,TATA Safari and TATA Indica. when it comes to TATA Motors they have very low technology compare it maruti but they slowly started learning how to build perfect and practical cars like indias First Sports Utility vehicle(sierra and Safari), Indias first MUV(TATA SUMO) ,indias first Diesel Hatchback(TATA INDICA) and they succeded being an indian we should proud on TATA Motors

2015 Maruti Dzire vs Honda Amaze vs Tata Zest vs Hyundai Xcent

The Maruti Dzire has been the undisputed king of the compact sedan segment for quite some time now and even though its been around a while, it shows no signs of slowing down. Even new competition, in the form of the Tata Zest, has had little impact on the sales of the Dzire which continue to soar. Following the facelift given to the Swift, Maruti has decided to update the Dzire sedan as well. In true Maruti Suzuki fashion, the changes made to the exterior are minimal with a healthy dose of chrome and a few more paint shades. They have, however, added more equipment which has also resulted in a minor price hike. It is the most popular sedan no doubt, but is it the best one out there? The rivals make a very good case for themselves and even though it doesn’t seem to matter much to the average Indian car buyer, we will still pit the facelifted Dzire against its chief rivals, the Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the Hyundai Xcent to see how it stacks up against these three. Read on our 2015 Maruti Dzire vs Honda Amaze vs Tata Zest vs Hyundai Xcent spec-sheet comparo to find out which one of these competent compact sedans is the best in its segment.
