we accept that honda amaze diesel have really amazing power band but but the refinement level in NVH is really poor compare to tata's quadrajet engines
Its Fiat's Multijet..[;)]
But its a fact that the 90 PS VGT unit has been reworked so that the initial turbo lag is not very irritating as before.

Now why this A.S.S screw things whenever Tata comes out with a good product[frustration]

But do you get the real peace of mind of a honda with this TATA? And what about the service?
we all heared positive feedback about tata ZEST each and every one said that tata came back with bang but what about TATA ASS and ADN still they are behaving like we dont care any one and we dont need any one exspecially in hyderabad like historical city today i was visited to enquire about TATA ZEST Display unit and test drive but the responce from these TATA ASS guys are really horrible if this kind of attitute will continue in near future then how can we expect bright future of TATA ZEST
There is no doubt that Tata needs to improve Sales and Service. But what about Honda Service cost and intervals ?

Without any second thoughts, my vote goes to Tata Zest. Sales and service is something they need to improve however when we are talking about the product as a whole, with the bulk of safety and other convenience features Zest offers across the variants, no compact sedan comes close to this new tata car. A perfect city car in my opinion. Good job Tata motors!

yup i know its multijet engine ....

yes now reworked on tubro engine in this engine now tata using electrinically(for spinning the turbo blades) controlled turbo charging is using to minimize the turbo lag

A turbo engine with minimized turbo lag than before is great, but will it affect the lifespan of a turbo?

We have to wait and see the life span of this new turbo unit at present tata using this kind of hybrid turbo units in their line up like tata aria, tata movus, upcoming undated safari storme

Aren't they two different engines. MJD and VariCOR??[confused]
Tata has stated that 50kg weight reduction in the MJD units. This may have a positive impact..!![clap]

Yeps. But what's the engine life? If the engine life would be just for one or two years with all these turbo-ish revotrons, what would be the use of this?

both are engines varicor and MJD engines usings different turbo units but the technology of this hybrid turbo chargers will be same i guess

few months back cartoq.com posted about hybrid turbocharger in refreshed aria see below

Tata Motors’ flagship product, the Aria crossover. Faced with Aria sales that simply refuse to take off, Tata Motors is prepping up a new weapon in its arsenal, the Aria with a hybrid turbocharger. The Aria with the hybrid turbocharger is said to be launch ready and Tata Motors has plans of bringing the new version of the imposing crossover to the market in the next few months. CarToq sources maintain that the Aria Refresh should be on Indian roads in the first half of 2014.

The Aria crossover is powered by a 2.2 liter common rail diesel engine that outputs 138 Bhp-320 Nm. This engine features a variable geometry, vacuum suction turbocharger. Tata Motors will add an electric motor and supercharger into the equation. The electric motor will propel a supercharger, that will work in tandem with the exhaust gas driven turbocharger. By adding the supercharger driven by the electric motor, turbo lag will be minimized to a great extent, improving both driveability and throttle response significantly.

The electric motor that propels the supercharger will be actuated through the engine’s electronic control unit (ECU) at lower rpms when the turbo boost is low. So, the electric motor spins up the supercharger before the turbo charger begins spooling up, thus eliminating turbo lag (the time taken by the turbocharger to generate boost pressure). In a nutshell, the hybrid turbocharger mimics the function of a twin turbocharger unit that uses small and large turbochargers for low and high rpm turbo boost.

Launched in 2010, the all-wheel-drive Aria crossover was priced optimistically right from word go. The high price meant that the Aria never managed to get going at the hustings. Even cut price, rear wheel driven variants have done little to spur Aria sales. Amid such a scenario, the facelifted, hybrid turbo equipped variant of the Aria represents the next big hope for the flagship crossover from Tata Motors. Along with the major mechanical change, the Aria Crossover is also likely to get a refresh in the form of smoked headlamps and revised interiors.

How can both the technologies be the same when their names are different?

This is about the 1.3MJD and not about the Revotron.

Yeps. But what's the engine life? If the engine life would be just for one or two years with all these turbo-ish revotrons, what would be the use of this?
Revotron is based on the Xeta block and it is very much reliable. Now only a small turbo is added. Hence not much problematic scenario here. Jettasam, you are mistaken b/w QJDs and Revotrons.

Hybrid turbo charger in QJD/Revotron..!! Not at all.
That cartoq report was published way before launch. I don't think Aria 2014 uses this hybrid-turbo in any way..!![:)]
