@Vaibhav What's the point of doing PDI if you are not going to take this particular car. Tell the dealer to get another car by the mid of Nov, so that even if there is some delay, your car will be ready by Dec 2. Or ask your fiance to think logically. Is it dune Beige/ white. I remember it is XMS. You know the scenario. XMS is really short in production.

Sorry was busy in a wedding hence couldnt reply.
The dealership is concorde kr road bangalore.
but the sales manger is fully accommodative. She has accepted that their are problems and she will get me another car for PDI.

No i checked the odo it had just done 33 kms

The problem is, dealer have to take care of your car. That's something atleast I'm not interested in

I didn't change the dealer. My earlier booking was cancelled and new dealer had given me the vehicle which was already in his stockyard.

I enquired from them about transferring the booking. But, they said it's not possible. I didn't ask the reason though.

@vaibhav: one sincere piece of advice, im in the auto industry
for last 6 yrs and in contact with all the major Oems.by this
i can tell you.
1. Never pay more than your booking amount
if you are not intrested in taking the delivery now.
2. This scarcity of a variants is just created and not really true.
3. Once you are clear of your requirements be firm and never change to any of the SA words.
4. From my knowledge 1.5 months is too much of a time.

I have changed ample of cars and dealt with n number of SAs
the only thing is " stick to what you want and you will get what you want".

i think tata has created this vartual scarcity situation only for diwali, so that those customer whom had booked earlier think that their car is not availbe amd they can give give cars to those customers who are buying new car and want early delivery. After diwali when market will be down they start delivery to their old customer.

As i said earlier, if you are very keen on the delivery date DEC 2nd, then tell them the same. dont pay them any cash.
The SA may also come up and say that the car will be given to someone else and other things, but be very clear about your delivery time and ask him to give the delivery on the same date.

@ DRDPK : First of all, very sorry for you dude. I think your experience is really frustrating
I would rather say its a little poor planning and not a deliberate action. its very difficult to predict the market. I think TATA is just playing safe by keeping their inventory low

I got back my booking amount both the times. There are no cancellation charges. Just give cancelled cheque. Amout will be credited within 2-3 days.

comparison of sales figure in C1 sedan segment before and after launching of zest:
july: dezire- 18634, xcent- 6652, amaze- 4507, total- 29793
september: dezire- 18185, xcent- 4481, amaze- 3848, zest- 3331, total -29845

it seems zest has affect sales of xcent and amze but dezire is unaffected.
stil zest has lowest sales: even after 10000 booking in just 2 weeks after launch. what may be the reason. whether tata doesnt have enough production capacity, or 10000 booking figure was false advertisement?

No they are lacking in production. TATA initially built inventory of lower models thinking people will go more for them, but they received maximum bookings of XT and model below XT. So they are facing problems of delivery. These next 2 months or starting January 2015 will tell a true story.
