Yesterday, I got a chance of driving zest on Yamuna Expressway for a brief 10 KMs. I maintained speed of 80-90 in ECO mode, AC on, no braking. It churned out 23.4 KMPL.

One sad thing happened 2 days back is that LHS front bumper has got some scratches and a hole.






Now, I have below options:

1. Replace the bumper and claim the insurance. I'll have to shell out Rs. 1000 for insurance claim and will have to forgo the NCB.
2. Replace the bumper from own pocket to retain the NCB. Body shop guy told that bumper costs Rs. 2000. Adding labor and paint cost, it will add up to approx. Rs. 3000, I think.

In either of the above two cases, I'll have to get the HSRP reinstalled. Any idea, how much will that cost?

3. Do not replace the bumper. Is this option feasible at all. I mean can these scratches and that hole be fixed without replacing the bumper with factory finish?

From pic 1 I can make out its nothing major to be honest. Its a minor tear only and some scratches that can be removed by rubbing compound. I am giving you a suggestion for 3rd option; Just place corner bumper guards and forget about it. This wont cost you more than 400-500 rupees and shall provide safety in long run.

Thanks cherryleo, job looks promising. I'll definitely prefer him if I couldn't find a good one in noida or gzb.

Also, if I install bumper guards, only minor scratches will be visible. Can they be fixed by rubbing/polishing?

Do you know any good quality brand. Last time I used local one for my ritz. But they faded really fast.

I think this option should be considered. The bumper protector will keep reminding you of the incident your car and you went through.

Dear, I used a brand "Fouring". The guards I had purchased from Mumbai for my I-vtec City. They were really good. Also Speedwav's Indigo e-CS guards can come in handy this time. Speedwav's Price is approx 345/- rupees.

Car has been run for 250 KMs till now and I am getting 10.5 KM/L with AC ON in City. Hope it'll increase to 13-14 KM/L in City after service.

Didn't get time to take her to Highway. Will update once I do so soon.

I was njoying the zest. But, the happy story ended with wifey overpowering me and taking my zest away . So now, wifey is njoying the zest.

This Sunday, I got a chance of driving zest on Yamuna Expressway for a brief 10 KMs. I maintained speed of 80-90 in ECO mode, AC on, no braking. It churned out 23.4 KMPL. Zest is very capable of giving good mileage figures if driven well.

I am getting around 11 in city's B2B traffic. I am mostly using ECO mode as a precaution to not overshoot the engine during run-in time.

Right now my average is around 13 with 80% of city and 20% of highway drive.

I tried in Noida Sec-16 market. They say, zest bumper guards are not yet available in market. I'll have to go for other ones.

Let me put a few issues experienced so far
1. AC goes off on its own comes back again on its own no matter what I tried. And this has happened twice.
2. My xt petrol has ordinary sun visors.
3. I got set of four alloy wheels (8 spokes) and not 16 spokes.
4. Rattling in third gear at all rpms
5. Engine compartment is uncovered from underneath.
6 reverse gear does not engage smoothly.
Any suggestions

Issue 1: It could be possible that after attaining a certain cabin temperature the compressor trips off as to save power.

Issue 2: Try for a good quality after-market pair if available.

Issue 3: Many accessories shown in the advertisement are either not part of standard equipment or they are for representational purpose.

Issue 4: Get the Clutch and Gear Box checked. It could be some problem with gear-meshing.

Issue 5: Even my Honda City doesn't have it. Any change to it from external sources might result in warranty issues. Ask the ASC if any solution is there.

Issue 6: Follow Suggestion number 4.

Hi Sunil, I have been promised a replacement in sun visor by the TML in writing. They have not given me a date of closure though. As far the 8 spoke alloy wheels are concerned, I am pretty happy with those ones. I think the 8 spoke wheel is better than the ones in lesser variants.

The alloys have been changed in higher versions as per my SA due to people requesting them.
