Tata Zest Revotron XT Ownership Review: Newest Member of Our Family

Hi everyone. I am new to the forum. I recently bought zest XT petrol version. I have one query about FATC of it. When temp is set higher like 29 degrees I can feel hot air only from vents near foot only. Other vents I feel cool air. Is there a problem? Or otherwise? need help

Yes I got it done at Oberoi sector 1. Every one there was not aware about the issue. Then there was a guy whom we met at the time of delivery. When we discussed with him he said there is a software update for this. Do not know his name though.
Then last week I went to discuss about bluetooth problem with harman engineer at sec 63 workshop. There was another technician who confirmed it. Again do not remember his name

I too facing blue tooth problem it's persisting even after software upgrade.

also, can anyone confirm how the bodycover is fitted as there is antenna at roof ?

I purchased one from dealership, official zest cover and it has extension for antenna and also you can even open driver side door as it has zipper on driver side. I would say quality is good though bit expensive if i see prices online. Not sure about quality of online options is same or better than official one.

But now my feeling is, it of mostly of no use if you drive your car daily. If you put cover, car cleaning guy skips cleaning.
So i do not put cover anymore. May be someday I will start using again. May be during rainy season. But just my opinion.

About AC I can not say exactly, may be some other members can help better.

About bluetooth, even for me it could not be resolved. Decided to avoid using my phone for calling while connected to bt with car.
Harmon engineer showed me a list of supported phones. Not a very big list though.
I have to follow up with them about this issue again, though I think they might not care about it.

at what price you bought from Dealer ?
My dealer is so backward , when I enquired, he did not know that zipped door body cover exists for zest. instead he was selling me ordinary cover.

Hi All Zest Owners.
New to this forum and posting my first thread.Would like to update on my ownership experience for my RED RT XT ZEST .
Her Birthday is 26 Sep 2014 . Got is from Concorde motors Dairy Circle. Have driven it for 3100 kms so far with one 800 kms Coorg Mysore trip. My First service was done on Dec 25. Would like to share my experience with the car and also the dealership.

Pros:
H&K sound system should get the first mention for the superior sound quality.
Sports mode once you take the rpm to 1800 , boy does it bet you to keep pressing her till the metal.
Handles the bad patches of the road without a fuss.
Steering is light and gets heavier at around 55-60 kmph.
Light with high beam is good but the low beams need an update.

Cons
Dealership is in a bad state of tune. How i feel sorry for them about their knowledge and negligence.
-First day bomb - Fuel lid not opening (In excitement forgot that during the PDI). Did made a fuss about it on call and after that whos who of TASS and local head gave me a call. Was rectified by the dealer the very next day in their service station.
-Did a huge HUGE HUGE mistake of giving them a paint work job for a scratch which i got on my new beauty. They not only made a mess of the color matching but also got the car with white patches on the black plastics. Had to return the paint job at the first instance.
- Started getting gear stick vibrations after completing my running in period , so tried rectifying it during my first service. To the surprise now it stated vibrating before the 2000 rpm mark . Initially it was vibrating post 3000 rpm. Still curse my self for this decision.
- Have started getting loud noise when turning the steering left side . Still to take it to the TASS. Written a mail but yet to get a response.
-Mud entering engine bay : got this ting rectified during the first service.

Observations:
MID currently shows 12 kmpl for me (3000 km 40% ECO, City, 20% Sport).
Once for a early morning drive of 100 kms got 19.1 kmpl (MID). got 12 during return in sport mode.

Satisfied with the car but i am worried of taking it to the TASS every alternate month, well that has been the case so far.

Welcome to the forum buddy. Mine Blue RT XT was born on 27th Sep'14. So we have same age of ownership.

There will always be minor glitches in any car. And as someone quotes "Why to fix when not broken", sometimes we need to adjust according to our surroundings.

Since you use Sport mode quite regularly, FE is decent. My current FE is 14 KMPL for 4000KMs. This includes 25% Highway & 75% City driving. I used 55% ECO, 40% City & 5% Sports mode.

Be little gentle to your car and it will serve you hassle free as it is doing to me.

Thanks Man. I am just a little disappointed with TATA in this respect . I agree to your point that "Why to fix when not broken" . BUt had so much expectations from TATA with the Zest that these small cropping issues are taking the fun of the ownership away.
Heard that these issues are common in most of the cars (Zest) through various forums and also from few Zest owners. So i fail to understand how come TATA did an extensive testing of some thousand hours with the set of cars and never found such issues. Dont want to take my prized possession to the ASS every now and then.
About being gentle on the car , well i have taken care of that . Sport mode used mainly to see and check the drop in the FE .

Any ways i am taking her to GOA.... tomorrow . Will update with the driving experience and the FE returned after the drive.

Just now received a call from my dealer, AutoVikas Moti Nagar that Tata Motors is organizing a family get together with breakfast and special arrangement for live World Cup screening for loyal Zest customers on Sunday at Country Club, Manesar at 9 a.m. in the morning as a gesture of thanks for making Zest a success.

Has anybody else also received call regarding same?

On Sunday, I went to ZestdrivesDelhi program organized by TML for loyal ZEST owners as a gesture of thanking and making ZEST a success and also making ZEST's presence felt on road.

It was a day-long program and started from Concorde Motors Mathura Road to Country Club Manesar. Since Mathura Road is almost 50 km from my place, I joined the program at Toll Gate Gurgaon (in my red beauty).

There was full video recording and photography on the way just like movies, with cameraman and photographer leading the charge of the drive and almost 50-60 ZEST lined in one line. It was really a sight to behold, especially on Toll Gate as everybody was surprised to see so many pristine beauties at one go.

The Country Club Manesar is quite far, almost 44 km from my place (West Delhi). As soon as we reached there, all ZEST were lined and parked in one line and all owners were welcomed by garlands by beautiful ladies to give a feel of VIP treatment for ZEST owners.

There were camel rides, horse rides, cricket, table tennis, pool, toy trains, swings for kids and whole lots of activities lined up. Breakfast was served soon along with live screening of India-South Africa World Cup match. After few speeches by TML, there was dance performances and quiz on Zest specifications and colors and fashion show by owners' wives followed by individual snaps for each family and one group snap which was later framed on the spot and given as parting gift along with one free Teflon coating and one free washing coupon.

Later on, lunch was served and each ZEST owner was given a farewell with a feeling of thanks and wooden framed group snap.

More information can be seen on ZEST facebook page which TML told me they will upload (hope so).

On a parting note, I asked about Infotainment upgrade and was sadly informed that TML has no such plan for old owners as it requires hardware upgrade. However they are trying for Navigation.

Small update guyz. Finally got the zest bumper scratch protectors installed for which I was waiting form long time. Got it done from Oberoi motors, Noida. Neat job by them. It came out as I wanted because my zest had a small hole and deep scratches below LHS headlight.

Let the pics do the talking. BTW, total odo reading is 4200 KMs with 14.5 KMPL avg FE.

After long chase of approx. 4 months, finally got the MIB kit installed into my zest. Will update the effectiveness of the kit as I observe the things.

Slight amount of muddy water seeps from front suspension openings and accumulate at backside of Headlight assembly. To prevent this, TML has developed this kit and fixing in all Zests free of cost. I am the first one to get it done in North region.

Concorde Mysore Rd people did't even know that the kit exists. I had to tell them that KHT etc are already fixing it and here you don't even know about it.
All this was in Jan 15-20, 2015. They told that they'll give a call to me if they hear anything about this. Not received any call till now.
