If you are in a coastal area, under body coating will be worth it.
I've read in other forum discussions that normally most vehicles comes with a layer of protective coating from factory itself.
It makes more sense for me to do it once that default coating starts fading due to rubbing on huge humps.
Hey,
Just check my ownership review thread no 13, where I have updated various services I opted from 3m car care. Will be useful for you guys.

Hello Ashwin, thanx for joining this wonderful thread. You will get lots of good information here regarding your vehicle here in this forum.

For your Hyundai car, hope this information will be useful for you:

Hyundai uses 19 characters for Chassis Number beginning with MAL...

Decode:

10th character represents the Model YEAR
19th character represents the MONTH of Manufacture

An Example:

If your 10th VIN character is C, then it represents the Model Year - 2012
If your 19th VIN character is L, then it represents the Month of Manufacture - Nov

Month Codes:

A = JAN
B = FEB
C = MAR
D = APR
E = MAY
F = JUN
G = JUL
H = AUG
J = SEP
K = OCT
L = NOV
M = DEC

Year Codes:

A = 2010
B = 2011
C = 2012
D = 2013
E = 2014
F = 2015
G = 2016
H = 2017
J = 2018
K = 2019

Thank You guys. Did PDI of my Zest Sky Grey XMS QJT from Concorde - Kochi. She looks elegant. I found few issue with rubber beedings in door panels which they said they will be resolving before delivery. Rest all looks fine. Took insurance from United India Insurance - bumper to bumper zero depreciation. It costed me Rs.14910/-, dealer quoted me Rs.24937/- for the same united india insurance - comprehensive. I suggest everyone to take insurance from outside as it saves a lot of money!!!

Expecting delivery on coming monday![:D][:D]

Dude, I have been hearing positive reviews online from the date it was launched which tempted me to book it. Anyway when I had a look at my machine, I just loved it - Love at First Sight!

Service from Concorde - Kochi is not upto the mark [frustration]. Initially I inquired with dealership on Zest and they hardly done any follow up. Eventually I went to dealership for a testdrive and took a 30+ km testdrive. The moment I reached home I handed over my cheque leaf and booked it.

Concorde always 'Promise' a follow up call and they always fail to keep 'Promises'. Just that I called them more than a dozen times asking my 'Date of Delivery', initially they said 3weeks and then 4weeks. Finally ended up raising a complaint with TATA customer care as per suggestions given by other Zest'ians over blogs. After I raised the complaint, I got a call from my SA within 2hrs and the very next day Sales Manager confirmed me the delivery date. Hats off to the prompt and precise follow ups done by TATA authorities.

Now I'm happy that they are ready to deliver 'Precious' on time.

Thanks TATA! [:)]

Note: 'Precious' - the name we have given for our Zest; just that it kept me waiting for over 35days to get this precious product.. [;)]

There was a market research event organized in Bangalore for Zest on Sunday.
Happy to meet a few fellow Zest owners in person including KBhatia [:D]
It was good to discuss on the car with fellow owners.

Hello febinfrancis,
for me also the dealer quoted Rs 24,055/ as for the insurance amount (for the zest xms) .
But you have mentioned that you took yourself the same for a lesser amount.
As the amount difference is much between these two, friends can anyone explain me what is the difference? or what is the advantage in taking the insurance through the dealer and what is the thing we have to take care while we go to take insurance by our own?
Most probably i will get my zest at the end of this month.So your clear and earliest guidance will be much useful for me.

I dont think there is much difference if you take from outside unless you take it from some "unheard" company.
For me Royal Sundaram felt good and they were offering around 20K for XT B2B.
They have a good online website and customer care support.
Cant comment on the easiness of claim processing as I didn't have to go through it.

> Dealer says they will give cashless if we opt for insurance which they provide which costs Rs.24937/- . But the one concorde put forward was comprehensive and heavily over priced. I expect that will be including the commission paid by insurance company to the dealer. They said they can provide insurance from United India or National Insurance.

> I have my uncle working in United Insurance and got "bumper to bumper - Zero depreciation" instead of comprehensive for a very less price Rs.14910/-. Which means I saved around 10k.

> If you own any other car with a full cover insurance and no claims, get in touch with your insurance provider and tell him you are about to take a new car. You can map the value of your old car and can get a large reduction on insurance - only incase if you haven't made any claims. In such cases your premium can get reduced upto Rs.7000 to 8000/- [:D]

Hope this clarifies, its better to check with multiple insurance companies and decide, better go for nationalized ones:
United India Insurance
National Insurance
Oriental Insurance
are a few! [:)]

Hey Harish.
I attended the same but on Saturday [clap]
Narain Karthikiyen showered his presence too.
Well, that was a different event.
I know another TAI-Ger who attended the event you are mentioning and had a talk with him.
That was an authorized Tata event, But this was more of only market research.
First we were a bit suspicious because the organizers didn't have anything to prove that they are authorized by tata to do this.

But from the way the discussion went, I'm 99% sure that it should be the product team from Tata trying to get the feedback on all aspects of the car.

Else any competitor who are trying to build a better product than Zest:suspect:
