I have heard that alloy wheel design has been changed to 18 spoke for new zest XT models, but I can see they are still 8 spoke in your pics . Could you please clarify on this issue ?

It hasn't changed, but available on demand.

In my case, my transit took 3 days to reach yard.
@Harish, couple of questions
1. My ICE is not reading child folder from pen drive, I.e., under Hindi folder, movie specific folders is not getting displayed. How is yours?
2. How you feel shifting from 2 to 3 gear. I feel it is not smooth.
3. Till what km I must drive below 80?
4. Does the air inside tyre is ordinary one or nitrogen?

1. In my system, it reads sub folders too.
2. I don't feel any issue while shifting from 2nd to 3rd.
It might be an issue specific to your car, get it checked during first service.
3. First 1500 is what is recommended.
From my research on this topic, I found that more than speed, its the RPM that you should watch out.
keep the RPM below 2K, speed is not a problem. you can go upto hundred if you are able to keep rpm's low.
4. I've filled Nitrogen the day I got delivery.
I dont think it makes any big difference, but out of the enthusiasm I did.

By default the air inside is normal and NOT nitrogen. There is no added value by filling nitrogen IMO.

Though, door pads have been changed to black why doesn't it have 18 spoke alloys?

I think I saw your red beuty arriving at dealership when I went to Oberoi yesterday to get a problem rectified. I had a good experience with Oberoi. You can read t below.

Yes, design is changed now, but since we booked car 5 weeks back, we luckily got it. Even the guy at oberoi was talking about it. I asked the reason and he said it may be due to cost cuttings.

So you saw our car before us , yes now they are offering 18 spoke alloys but we personally like 8 spokes so no complaints. And even our experience has been pretty good with Oberoi. Hope they serve well in future too.

you mean to say that 18 spoke design is a cheaper alloy wheel than 8 spoke !!.

Can somebody in the forum enlighten me with the difference between 8 and 18 spoke alloy design and interms of reliability and cost. Please pardon my ignorance.

Difference is just design and nothing else. Nothing comes cheap in today's world. Since 18-spoke had better design and was better looking than 8-spoke, everybody started asking for it and hence TATA agreed to provide it.

I bought TATA Zest Quadrajet XT- Mine was the first Car in Bangalore. Had great ceremony during the delivery.
In just span of 2.5 months, I have already covered 9000 km already in the car.

The only thing I feel good about thinking about the car is the delivery ceremony. Since mine was the first car in Bangalore, there were lot of people to greet from TML, Concorde, Cakes, etc.

Other than the delivery ceremony I have been disappointed with Zest.
My car has been serviced 6 times, couple of times for multiple days at the service center.

I have completed 3 long drives with the car
1. Bangalore-Mumbai-Surat
2. Bangalore-Pune-Mumbai
3. Bangalore-Yercard

The FE is below:
Fuel Used in City: Shell
Fuel Used on Highways: Shell and IOC
Ac: 100% ON

Highway:
At 80 kmph:20.5 kmpl
At 100 kmph: 19 kmpl
At 120 kmph: 18 kmpl
At 140 kmph: 16.5 kmpl

City:
After 1st Service:
Pathetic : 12.7 kmpl from instrument cluster
Tank-to-Tank Method: 14.9 kmpl

Before 1st Service: 15.6 kmpl

You touched one area I have sheer disappointment with Zest
My car is still with TML and Concorde for the corrections on issues reported by me from atleast 3-4 days now.

My advice to New Buyers: Please wait till the product gets stabilized in the market.

Expecting delivery on 4th December.Actually someone cancelled his booking and dealer blocked that car.It was of same colour that I needed.That is the reason I m getting the delivery in 7-8 days.
Is there anything I should be worried about or check something special looking at the ultrafast delivery that I am getting??please let me know if anything.
After a long hussle and tussel i've convinced my parents about tata.I hope tata doesn't disappoint in terms of long term duarbility and build quality because if things go wrong I am sure i'll get lots of sarcastic comments from my family.

What niggles you faced uptill now in your zest??
Please can you tell the reason for your disapointment in zest.
Kindly mention why you had to visit service centre frequently.

Issues Faced Uptil Now:
1. As soon as you put car in Reverse, there is some noise that starts coming out of the speakers as it there is no proper earthing. Was fixed after the software update of infotainment system. Really first car new update??
2. Keep the steering straight, the car moves on the left. Wheel Balancing was done twice was still the same.
3. Extremely Poor city FE.
4. Quaking Noise from Steering during full turns and on low speeds.
5. Seat Belt Holder came out when pulling seat belt.
6. Met with 5 punctures in single tyre and cant even find 1 single nail or anything like that. Some issues with the tyre.
7. Mud entering the engine cabin (MIB issue)
8. Torque Boost Extremely Delayed. Now at 2400-2500 RPM
9. Metallic Thud Noise from Left wheel
10. Feel jerk as soon as you change gear
11. After the 1st service, gear shifting has been hard.
12. More fuel usage in idle condition.
13. The glass for back door goes down slow than other. Was fixed after putting some spray to make it smooth.

Other than this there has been lot of trivial issues related to Service center.
The car has to go multiple operations for the resolutions. Eg. Steering wheel noise is operated 4 times, still the same. Wheel balancing was done twice, still the same.

For each of this items, there has been replies like "Its normal behaviour" and for some resolutions has been provided after huge escalations.

I think you should consider yourself lucky to get the delivery this fast.
Nothing to worry about the speedy delivery as its normal that when some1 cancels after booking, It will be given to others in the booking line.
Just do the normal PDI process.
And check the VIN number for the manufacturing date.

Do check for MIB issue
For mud entering into engine compartment, the same has been resolved by fixing bracket near the FLH and FRH mud liners.
